This lightweight 2-bike rack is perfect for the occasional rider with limited storage space in their garage. The wheel trays fold up, so it easily fits into a closet, and you can tilt it with your bikes loaded for rear cargo area access.

The XTC-2 Tilt's mast has a pair of ratcheting hooks that hold your bikes securely by the top tube. And because they move independently, you can carry bikes of different shapes and sizes. The hooks have soft padding that won't scratch or scuff your bike's paint.
The rack has wheel hoops that provide a stable base for mounting your bikes. Each hoop has a hand knob that lets you easily slide it along the tray to accommodate your bike's wheelbase. It also includes a rubber strap on each hoop that secures your bike's wheels to the rack. If you need to carry fat bikes, there are hoops (sold separately) that let you carry bikes with tires up to 5" wide.
A spring-loaded release lever in the base of the rack lets you tilt the rack with bikes loaded for cargo area access.
You can fold the mast down for easy access to your hatch. Simply pull the pin at the base of the mast and fold it down in either direction. You can also fold the trays up against the mast for storage. Just pull the pins at the junctions where the trays meet the rack, fold the trays up, and reinsert the pins into the provided holes.
The rack includes a threaded hitch pin and a clip that work with a built-in anti-wobble device in the shank to eliminate rattle in the hitch receiver during transport. You can replace the pin and clip with an anti-rattle lock (sold separately) to secure the bike carrier to your vehicle. It also has a removable aluminum sleeve that lets you convert the rack for use in 1-1/4" hitches.

This lightweight 2-bike rack is perfect for the occasional rider with limited storage space in their garage. The wheel trays fold up, so it easily fits into a closet, and you can tilt it with your bikes loaded for rear cargo area access.I received the order on 2/18/22. Put the unit together on 2/19. The 8mm screw that holds the rack from tilting all the way to the ground when the Lynch pin spring clip is removed was not in the bag of screws I can to use the rack until I receive the screw. I spoke with Jim in customer service on 2/22/22. Have not heard back. I left a message with Swagman but have not heard back. This is probably a good rack but I ordered the tilt version so that it will fit my use.
I bought my first Swagman bike rack about ten years ago. It still works fine. When I saw Swagman now has a tilt model, I decided to buy one because we have two vehicles that have big doors on the back that can't be accessed without a rack that tilts. So now I use the old Swagman on my Toyota Landcruiser that has clam shell doors on the back and the new Swagman XTC-2 TILT 2-Bike Platform Rack for the other two cars. Both racks work great-easy to put on and off and easy loading and unloading my bikes. I believe the Swagman is the best two-bike hitch on the market
I really like this bike rack! It’s easy to put on and take off the trailer hitch and easy to get our fairly heavy bikes loaded and unloaded. You may need to spray the release button with WD-40 from time to time, as it tends to stick. We did put foam insulation (like for water pipes) on the bars of our bikes to protect them from scratching, as the bikes tend to move when you’re driving. We haven’t taken any long trips with our bikes yet, only short rides to meet up with other bikers. We live in a high humidity area (south Louisiana) so time will tell if we get any rust. I hope not! I did a lot of research to find the best rack for our needs and I would definitely timely recommend this one!
VERY easy to use and set up. I can place rack and load two bikes in five minutes (I timed myself). Even less time to reload bikes after our ride. The bikes don't swing or move about even on gravel roads which protects the car finish from dings. Price is great and I like the Swagman Website for this Canadian company. Tilt ability to get into hatch of our stationwagon only takes seconds. Balanced so it easy to move rack even when loaded with bikes Wheel wells adjusting screen is stiff
Rack is nice and well built. However, there seems to be a lot of sway. The center post will move 2-3 inches left or right and while I doubt and hope nothing will fail, it is a little unnerving to see so much movement in your rear view when others I have seen do not move at all. I have a 2" hitch and there is an adapter that comes with the unit pre-installed. It definitely has some play, but I don't know if it accounts for all the movement. Otherwise, the rack is easy to use and fits my two bikes well. It takes a little playing to figure out placement of the hooks that secure the bikes from the top. And there are times where I just get it as tight as possible and then throw a Bungie cord on for extra piece of mind.
Installed one year ago. Easy installation that took less than 1 hour with basic tools. Very satisfied. The rack easily rotates so I can open the hatch on my 2017 Bolt. My only complaint was the rack squeaked a bit when rocking back and forth. Easily fixed with a thin washer placed between moving parts of the rotating stand.
price was good. services was fast. assembly was easy. easily handles two trex hybrid bikes with 700x45 tires. using on a Mazda CX-5 suv and access to hatch is easy when tilted. WOULD recommend.
I just received the XTC2 rack and there are big improvements over the XC2 which we have owned for many years. The XC2 served us well but I had two complaints. One was that it wobbled in the hitch receiver. It was alarming at first but never caused a problem. The second was that the wheel cradle clamps wouldn't stay put unless cranked tight with a pliers. I was happy to find that those clamps on the XTC2 have plastic sleeves that hold the cradles nicely in place without excessive tightening. Of course, the big plus with the new rack is the tilt feature that allows access to the hatches on both our Subaru and Prius Prime. It works very nicely even with two bikes on the rack. The threaded hitch pin eliminates the wobble in the receiver that plagued the XC2. I was a bit disappointed that there is now wobble where the hitch tube joins the main assembly but I added a thin shim between the assembly and the tube that has mostly taken out the play. This flaw could be solved by making the hole for the 12 mm bolt smaller. While the wheel straps on the cradles are a nice feature I probably won't use them. We carried our bikes thousands of miles on the XC2 with only top hooks and never had a problem. Be aware that the nice powder coating on the mast won't last forever because there is metal-to-metal contact with the hooks. Not a problem if you store your rack indoors. Despite the minor issues, this rack is a great value. What other rack offers the range of adjustment and tilt feature for under $[XXX]? This will be the last rack I'll buy unless I add capacity for two more bikes.
First time using a bike rack. Easy to follow instructions and setting up on SUV. Traveled from South Florida to Jersey Shore without a "hitch". Excellent product. Met another customer with same hitch in a rest stop area. He commented...no problems just like me
I like the bike rack. My only complaint would be that the hooks to hold the bike are very hard to slide up or down. I put WD-40 on it and it seemed to help.
Extremely surprised at the quick delivery of the bike rack! Assembly was easy and completed in less than 30 minutes. So much easier loading the bikes and really like the tilt feature. Pleased we chose the Swagman over other brands we researched.
After using 2-3 other hitches, we found the one that works best for us...easy to load a male and female bike together, easy to open the trunk with the tilt down option. Very pleased with the hitch and the service from etrailer.com.
I am very pleased with the Swagman XTC2 bike rack. It is much easier to load bikes on/off than my other bike rack with a higher mount. It is also easy to attach the rack to the trailer hitch. I recommend this product.
The Swagman XTC2 tilt bike rack works great in our 20016 Toyota Highlander. The tilt feature allows easy loading & unloading as well as plenty of room for tailgate to swing up and down for easy access to cargo area. The rack holds the bikes very secure, so there’s not a lot of movement of the bikes going down the road.
Quality is good for the price. The problem was that the foam matieral on the top bar hooks is too hard and rubbed the finish off two new bikes we had on the rack. Need to change the foam covering on the hooks. Am not using the rack due to the damage it caused.
Awesome bike rack. Securely holds our two bikes with easy mounting to the vehicle
Very sturdy bike rack but still light enough to easily handle. Looks great with the bikes on! Bicycles seem very secure! Great product for the price. Shipping was exceptionally quick and package arrived in perfect condition!
Best bike rack ever. I thought I was going to have to help my daughter put it on and adjust it every time she wanted to use it. Not so, she can handle it all by her self. It is great
Awesome for what it is - an affordable bike rack. I’ve used it with a 1-1/4” and a 2” hitch (with the adapter). Hauling 1 or 2 mountain bikes. Easy to use and install. A little wobbly, but I purchased the straps to stabilize for longer trips (prob just me being Paranoid, not an actual safety issue).
Love the bike rack and am very happy with the service etrailer has provided. Have just received our Thule kayak carrier from them and and waiting for the Yakama roof rack to follow. Great company to deal with!
I could not have imagined a better bike rack ! Great quality and easy to assemble .
Construction, finish, fit and function exceeded expectations. Very happy we chose this one. Also we had ordered wrong lock to go with this. They called us to get it sorted. Fabulous customer service.
This is a great bike rack: easy to mount, easy to load, secure to the vehicle. I installed it upside down initially and scraped bottom, losing the hitch pin. I reinstalled it the correct way and have had no problems since. I can't remember why I installed it upside down the first time.
It was exactly as described and easy set up easy removal fold up feature makes for easy storage
The lock on the bike arm is very cheap and ineffective. It broke after 5 uses. Raising and lowering rack is not straight forwatd but it work once you get use to it.
