Purchased this 1 year ago. Worked awesome for a 9.000 mile cross country trip with three off road adventures at geology tour road Joshua tree, west side road Death Valley, and kingman wash lake mead. No rattle, always secure, great clearance. Would purchase again.

by:

Excellent cargo toter. Used on 2 vacations last summer, Iowa to Tennessee and Iowa to Florida. Carried 72 quarts and 52 quarts coolers loaded with food and other assorted cargo. Used existing holes provided for ratchet straps, no problems. 5 adult passengers in our ‘17 F150, bed full of cargo and the toter loaded with food, carried the load well. Excellent trips!

Instructions were good product is excellent. Product arrived ahead of schedule and I was able to get it assembled shortly thereafter. Check my photos. My hitch clamp would not work with the product and I need a storage box.

excellent Product Assembly was easy and it does the intended job. Its light and folds easily.

by:

It just came in and I have not actually used it but it was very easy to assemble is much lighter than my previous steel carrier. Using on a Ford Explorer you can not open the lift gate when the carrier is raised completely. With a second pin you can angle the carrier back some and the lift gate clears easily.

by:

This is a great product and company. We have used this cargo carrier several times and it does exactly what it is supposed to without drama. Appreciate the follow-up from the company to check satisfaction.

by:

It works, but I only put two electric bikes on it. The mesh seems to bend pretty easy.

About the same after a year, aluminum mesh is a little soft, and I wish the sides were a little higher. But it works.

by:

Cargo Carrier is just as advertised well made and light weight.
Delivered on time.
Always nice doing business with etrailer.

Basket is sturdy and lightweight used to carry extra 75 lbs of camping supplies.

I was looking for a cargo carrier I could use to carry a few items on a longer road trip. I wanted one that would allow the back doors to open on a Nissan NV200 (when the carrier is unloaded). This one has enough clearance to allow the doors to open when you don't have gear on it. I was seeking aluminum for lighter weight. I like the design which has an aluminum tray but steel brackets.

by:

I just did 800 miles with this cargo carrier and had no problem, but make sure you purchase the anti rattle pin because it has some play in the hitch.

by:

Good instructions, easy assembly, light weight, works well. Wish they offered an LED tail light kit for it, have to make my own kit.

by:

Purchased this to replace almost identical unit I’ve had for 17 years I just have to my son. Old unit was all aluminum. The new is steel on structural parts. Heavier but stronger.
I use to haul sewer hose box, steps,
Grill, camp chairs firewood.

by:

Easy assembly with quality hardware.

by:

I chose this carrier due to being the lightest weight for its size and load rating. Additionally, I was looking for a dual purpose carrier to haul bulky items outside the vehicle and full sized mountain bikes. The carrier is simple to assemble, easy to install/remove, and store. As for hauling mountain bikes, I added a fork axle mount to a piece of oak. Bottom line - for less than the price of dedicated hitch bike rack with the optionality to haul firewood and fuel to the trailhead it's worked great.

@William That's great! Thanks for the positive feedback!

by:

I really like this basket. It is very lightweight but still feels stiff/sturdy and it has a great rated capacity (500lbs) for its weight. However, the shipping was sub-par. This item was shipped with a hitch receiver in the same box. The outer box arrived opened, damaged, with hitch parts missing. The basket box was also damaged by something penetrating the box(es). I was able to hammer out the dent in the basket floor and get it assembled. etrailer was very responsive in getting me the missing mounting HW for the hitch. 5 star product, 1 star shipping.

by:

The young man who helped us with our order was wonderful. Answered all our questions with no pressure to purchase. And we received our order promptly. Thank you

by:

I have sent you a picture of the completion of the carrier it was easy to put together it's lightweight I have back problems easy to put together and well worth the price can't wait to use it John K

Works great love it

by:

The aluminum frame felt flimsy when I took it out of the box but after I put it together it seemed rather stout. Not crazy about the folding hitch. It should be an option not all or none. For what it is and the price, it was a good deal. only time will truly tell.

by:

The Cargo Carrier was easy to assemble. The fact it's aluminum and not steel makes it light weight and easy to handle compared to the steel counterpart. The nice size makes it handy to store in the box of the pick-up or fold up on the hitch. Endless applications, just stay under 500 pound loads.

by:

Great product. Easy assembly perfect size and weight. I've ordered several products from etrailer. Shipping, customer service and install videos are great!
I added reflective tape seen in picture.
Thanks

by:

Fairly easy to install and works well

by:

For the most part a good value. I actually added tail lights just to make it a bit more noticeable as we used it to carry our recumbent trikes.

by:

Used it on the back of our van for a 14,000 mile trip through western U.S. and to Alaska and back. Performed excellently. Liked that it was light and could be folded up out of the way when not needed. Will be using it again on our road trip this summer.

by:

Strong, light, no rust, fold up, what more do you what?

by:

A great basket for the price. Consider adding reflective tape, as well as adding a hitch tightener to prevent the basket from swaying side to side. Here are my photos

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch With the Best Finish For A 2022 Honda Passport
I tend to prefer the look of the American made Curt hitch # C13421 for your 2022 Honda Passport as it is less obvious than the Draw-Tite once installed. This has a black powder coat finish over a protective base coat and I have found it to hold up very nicely. This is also a very quick and easy install that will require no drilling. I do need to mention that this, as with any hitch, will limit the area of the Hands-free Liftgate sensors to either side of the receiver opening. This is pretty...

  • Hitch Lock and Anti-Rattle Device Recommendation for 2017 Toyota Tacoma
None of our cargo carriers were intended for off-road use but the Curt cargo carrier part # C18100 does have a 500 lb capacity when used in on-road applications. I attached a test course video for you to check out that shows you how stable it will be on the highway when in use and loaded. For a hitch lock that doubles as an anti-rattle device we have the part # 63232 which would work well. It holds the shank of the carrier tight to the hitch tube which prevents it from moving.

The closest match for your 2008 Chrysler 300 that we have is the Draw-Tite Hitch Cargo Carrier, item # 6502. This carrier has a 20 inch by 48 inch deck and will handle up to 500 pounds. You will need to check the tongue weight capacity of your vehicle and hitch to be sure it will be able to carry the weight of your scooter and the weight of the cargo carrier at the rear of your car. You will also need to measure the distance from the center of your hitch pin hole out to the farthest part...

  • Storage Recommendations for etrailer Cargo Carrier When Not In Use
The 24x60 etrailer Cargo Carrier # e98874 referenced in your question does feature a corrosion-resistant black powder coat finish. This will do a great job of preventing rust during normal use, but I do still recommend storing the carrier in a dry environment if you won't be using it for an extended period of time. This is simply going to provide the best protection and ensure the longest possible lifespan for the carrier. Storing the carrier outside under a tarp is a good option if you...

  • Recommended Hitch Mounted Cargo Carrier For 2013 Ford Flex
I did some research and found the towing capacity of your Flex is 2,000-lbs. This means the tongue weight capacity will be from 200 to 300-lbs max. That would be the weight of the carrier added to the weight of any cargo in the carrier. I recommend going with an aluminum carrier to take advantage of the lighter weight. The carrier I recommend is the carrier you came from, part # C18100. This is a 19 x 60-inch carrier and weighs just 29-lbs. That gives you a bit of flexibility for your...

This will equal the maximum weight of the cargo you can carry. For example: An aluminum cargo carrier like...
