Used it a hand full of times for camping with two different SUVs and its been great. Once over 2000 miles round trip. With the waterproof bag you can hold more gear since it goes above the side rails. Just be careful if your driveway slopes down you’ll lightly scrape the ground when backing out. And if you have a smaller suv or car make sure you center the heaviest items or it will feel it pulling back and forth on the freeway.

by:

Quick delivery. Solidly built cargo tray and easy to put together. Using it at the rear of my 24' travel trailer. Using it with extra large waterproof cargo bag. Great combo. Had 18 hours solid rain and all bag items were bone dry!!!!

Used with etrailers anti-rattle hitch lock. Worked great at the rear of my travel trailer along with etrailers waterproof bag! I remove it for winter otherwise its on camper spring , summer and fall.

The trailer carrier has been a wonderful blessing since we purchased it. It's sturdy, strong, and easy to store. We used it initially for a trip from Oklahoma to Florida, and everything was transported safely and easily. As I recall, I think someone in Florida asked us about the carrier. We definitely told them to consider buying one. My husband did significant research before the purchase. He DEEPLY appreciates produces that are established with high quality standards. How disappointing and frustrating to buy something and to see it break or deteriorate prematurely because its components were poor and frankly cheap. Thus, the cost was quite reasonable. To date, the carrier continues to serve us. Once you purchase such an item, you may be surprised how practical and useful it truly is. I believe we used it locally when we transported and gave our close friends a refrigerator we weren’t using. We used the carrier last summer on our trip to Michigan with our two large dogs. The dogs rode comfortably with us in our SUV while the luggage rode in the carrier. Wow! Our dogs were certainly grateful for the extra space. My husband also secured two tarps on the Hitch Cargo Carrier Bag for additional protection against the rain. He used several bungie cords that were easy to apply because the carrier has so many places on which to secure the hooks. Nothing was wet or damaged. My extremely gifted and creative husband was able to relocate the license plate so that it would be visible in certain states that require license plate visibility at all times. We are both satisfied with this product. God bless you, and thank you for the one year inquiry! Keep creating products with excellent craftsmanship.

We just installed our carrier. We love that this is going to free up a lot of space for our vacation traveling. Very heavy duty and bigger than i was thinking it would be.The pin that holds the carrier in the hitch was not included. It would have been an added bonus if it was.

by:

Easy to assemble, nice and solid cargo tray! Bought it with the hitch bracket. Note: no hitch pin included.

As we mention in the product description above, the hitch pin like # PC3 or locking hitch pin like # e98882 is available separately.

This cargo carrier fits perfectly behind my 2023 CR-V. I use it for hauling bags of grass to the yard waste. It is almost a two person job inserting it into the receiver though. Seems well made and well finished.

by:

OUTSTANDING in every way! As a disabled veteran I was looking for a way to carry my snow blower and lawnmower with my 2020 Grand Cherokee to work and assist others outside my home. I found the etrailer website while surfing and their site offered more information and carrier sizes to chose from. The purchase process was easy and etrailer communicated with me every step after the purchase until delivery. It took about 30 minutes to assemble in my living room and the carrier is sturdy, easy to install and just what I was looking for. etrailer is the bench mark for businesses to model. Thank You

by:

Very easy and fast assembly. The instructions should say to put on the top plates and tighten before tightening the bottom hitch bar. If not done in this order, the top halves will not fit tightly together. I manufactured a double receiver to use the carrier with a bike rack on my RV.

by:

I purchased the cargo carrier about a year ago and finally used it for the 1st time this past week. It held 2 medium size coolers perfectly. Just a word of warning- I tied my cargo down and the expanded metal on the bottom of the carrier pulled out and was damaged. I could understand that if I had used a ratchet strap or something similar but there is no way a simple cinch strap should have caused that kind of damage after 1 use. None of the other cheaper carriers I have owned had this kind of issue. I was surprised and disappointed at the quality of the expanded metal bottom. Other than that, it seems to be a decent carrier.

by:

Assembly of the carrier was fairly easy but where the two main sections meet, I was unable to get a proper fit and there still remains a slight gap. I also tried to use a mallet to fit it into place but it wouldn't budge.

by:

Very pleased, easy to assemble and seems very sturdy,it's got plenty of room and I like that it has rails around it.I highly recommend getting the etrailer anti rattle stabilizer too,it really tightens it up.

It works great!I only use it during hunting season. This year it worked flawlessly in hauling my buck and then later my treestands. It is strong and has plenty of room, couldnt be happier!

by:

Purchased the hitch Cargo Carrier to haul beach vacation stuff since two Golden Retrievers were coming with us and they were taking up a lot of space inside the back of the Toyota Highlander SUV. Worked great and was simple to attach. Update, the white SUV pictured in the review was totaled in an accident in the fall of 2019 and shortly after receiving a similar replacement Highlander, I ordered a new etrailer hitch to install on the vehicle.

by:

Sorry to get back so late, but just ran across this old email. The above 2
digitals are at the end of the first firearm season in Illinois (week before
Thanksgiving). I used the cargo carrier on these to haul 3 deer to the
locker for processing. My nephew and I had contemplated buying a $1,000
plus trailer to be able to haul our deer, but then I found your internet add
on the cargo carrier. It worked great, and was easier to use than a trailer
which would have required lights. I appreciated the reflector tape you put
on yours, so we did not need lights. We used it several times during the
gun and bow seasons, and saved over $800 from not having to buy a trailer.
Great product-thanks again.

Picture of cargo carrier is installed and ready to go camping soon in Montana.

Package arrived as scheduled. Packaging was not in the best shape, looks like it had been caught on something and one side was ripped open, then taped shut. I opened the box and the packaging around the shelf was not real secure, causing the shelf to slide back and forth inside the box. This caused some minor scuffing on the rails of the shelf, but nothing major. Assembly was easy, but I would recommend that when you put it together, start with the two plates that join the shelf, then use the three bolts for the actual hitch post. I did it the other way and when I tightened the three bolts, it separated the shelf on the top side. I ended up using a tie-down strap to pull the tow pieces together so that I could get rid of the gap on the top rail of the shelf. Once I did this, the shelf came together just fine. The anti-rattle locking hitch pint is GREAT! Installed easily and eliminated any extra movement from the shelf. Equipment is satisfactory, shipping and packaging could use some improvements. Overall satisfied with the purchases.

by:

This carrier is AWESOME! First time using it this past weekend, just a small load for camping and had never driven with anything in tow. Wouldn't even know it was there. No rattling, nothing. Extremely sturdy. We ended up putting the shank on 'upside-down' so my Jeep rear door would open once unloaded. Actually called etrailer's customer service that night to make sure we could do it that way. Very helpful and great to talk to! I highly recommend this carrier. Fits perfect with oversize rear tire as well.

by:

This is a cargo platform assembled and attached to my 2003 Honda Element. I purchased all the items from etrailer I have to fill and load the Rola Tuffbak Cargo bag later to test it out on platform.

I want to mention, ordering all my items was easy with the help of the customer service people. Everyone I spoke to was helpful and really answered every question I had. I try my best to study and compare items before I purchase them. I assembled and installed them all as just one guy taking hos time to do that. They have great service, timely delivery, and everything I bought has been as advertised, no gimmicks, no lies, no con games. Great company and I give them 100% for everything.

by:

I am extremely pleased with the Curt Cargo Carrier. It was very easy to assemble and it's strong and well-balanced when hitched to my vehicle. It's a perfect carrier to transport my grill to tailgate parties and I am sure I will use it for many other transport needs.

The additional storage space it creates is amazing and works wonderfully!

The product is good and it has been very useful. No damage to it and will continue to use it for future camping and fishing trips. Much thanks!!!

by:

i like it it fits everything i need that i dont want in my rv but when mine was delivered it was missing all the hard ware to bolt everything together no nuts and bolts

by:

Pleased. Easy to assemble. By myself it took about 20 minutes. Glad I chose etrailer. I knew nothing about hitches and almost ordered from Amazon but chose etrailer instead. About an hour after I placed my order etrailer called me to make sure I knew not all the products I ordered were compatible, which I did not. They steered me to the correct ones which all came together. Had it assembled, put on my car, and did a test drive in under an hour.

by:

Sturdy, flares up at hitch sleeve to avoid bottoming out as my old other flat model did all the time. I use it on my motor home mostly. .
Easy to put together. Excellent tie down rails. Price is right. I give it a 5 star.

by:

This purchase was awesome. I had no reason to doubt the CURT Products purchased, but having to try etrailer the first time was leaving me a little skeptical. Once I found my product, and found they were in stock (awesome) this was the best. I phoned and shopped many places, not one had stock or would be at least 7 - 10 days. Not etrailer, withe order online placed, I immediately received an order email with tracking accurate/ detailed information. The order was placed Sat, shipped Monday morning and delivered We’d morning. True to their word. Just a great experience.
Thank you etrailer.

  • Recommended Cargo Carrier Similar to the Lets Go Aero BigBoss
Yeah bad news George, it looks like the 24x48 Lets Go Aero BigBoss Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches H01465 just stopped being made earlier this year so it's not available, unfortunately. We do have other cargo carriers like the 24x60 Curt Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches # C18152 which looks to be the same thing as the Big Boss carrier with a bit higher weight capacity, but it is a bit longer at 60".
