Video Transcript for Curt Hitch Fabrication Parts - Receiver Tube - E17 Review

Today we're going to be taking a look at part number E17. This is the Curt Weld-On 2" Receiver which is going to be perfect for custom fabricated hitches. It's designed with the appropriately sized tubes for easy insertion of your ball mount or hitch mount accessories. The receiver opening is going to measure 2" by 2". It's also going to feature the nice forged collar that has a ProDesign as well as a raw finish over the entire unit. That's going to require less prep work when you are ready to weld this on for your installation. Again, 2" by 2" trailer hitch opening.

You're going to have your standard 5/8" pin hole diameter. This is going to be rated with a 5,000 pound gross towing weight, 500 pound tongue weight capacity. A few measurements to go over real quick. I'm going to be measuring the side plates here. They're going to give us an overall length 5-1/2", overall height 4-1/2". The overall length from edge to edge, looks like it's going to measure about 11".

Outside edge to outside edge, that's going to give us a measurement of 2-7/8". Inside edge to inside edge looks like it's going to measure about 2-3/8". That's going to do it for our review of part number E17. This is the Curt Weld-On 2" Receiver for Custom Fabricated Hitches. .

  • Dimensions of Curt Weld-On 2" Receiver for Custom Fabricated Hitches
The plates on the Curt Weld-On 2" Receiver for Custom Fabricated Hitches # E17 are 1/4" thick. The receiver tube is 2-1/2" wide, or 3" if you count the collar at the opening. For a tube size, I would discuss that with the fabricator or welder that will install it. You will need something that can handle the weight you plan to tow/carry and that will fit in the correct spot for installation.

  • Is There a Trailer Hitch Receiver For a 1972 Jeep Renegade?
It appears no one is manufacturing a trailer hitch receiver for your 1972 Jeep Renegade, which is likely due to the age of your Jeep. I recommend looking at the Curt Weld-On 2" Receiver # E17 for your Jeep. This receiver is bare steel so you will be able to weld it and any support plates to your Jeep before painting the assembly. If you are unsure you can visit a nearby fabrication shop to get their opinion on what they will be able to fabricate.

  • Is There a Custom Fit Front Trailer Hitch Receiver Available For a 1989 Chevrolet Suburban V1500?
It would appear you will need a custom fabricated front hitch receiver for your 1989 Chevrolet Suburban V1500. I cannot locate an aftermarket custom fit front receiver for your Suburban. We do have the Weld-On 2" Receiver # E17 which will aid in the fabrication of a custom receiver.

  • Will The Draw-Tite Front Mount Receiver Fit With Ranch Hand Front Bumper 2000 Ford F-250?
We have only fit the Draw-Tite Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver # 65022 on models with the stock front bumper. I do see there are different model Ranch Hand front bumpers for your 2000 Ford F-250 and if it is the model with the winch mount the winch bracket does appear to be in the way. You may be able to have the 2" Receiver # E17 welded to your bumper but be sure to contact Ranch Hand for any capacities the bumper is capable of supporting.

  • Will The Draw-Tite Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver Fit a 2017 Chevy Colorado ZR2?
The Draw-Tite Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver # 65071 would require a lot of modification to the front of your 2017 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 to properly fit. With your ZR2 having the front skid plate unlike other models this would need to be removed. A better option would likely be to have a custom receiver fabricated so you can have the 2" Receiver # E17 higher up on your front end. You will want to visit a custom fabrication shop to work out all the details of having one fabricated.

  • Is There a Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver Available For a 2019 Lexus GX 460?
As there is not a custom fit front receiver for your 2019 Lexus GX 460 you will need to have a receiver fabricated. The Curt Weld-On 2" Receiver # E17 is a great starting point for having a custom receiver fabricated. The Curt Receiver # 31367 fits a 2007 - 2009 Toyota 4Runner, 2010 - 2013 Toyota 4Runner Trail Edition and a 2007 - 2014 Toyota FJ Cruiser. • Will the Curt Front Trailer Hitch fit a 2WD 2001 GMC Sononma
Unfortunately not, the Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver # 31021 is specifically designed for the 4WD models only. I did some digging around and it doesn't actually look like there are any front trailer hitches for a 2001 GMC Sonoma, so, your only real option would be to have one fabricated using something like the Curt Weld On 2" Receiver # E17.

  • Recommended 2 Inch Receiver to Fabricate Receiver for Bike Rack on Off-Grid Trailer
It sounds like maybe you need something like the Curt Weld-On 2" Receiver for Custom Fabricated Hitches # E17, which could be welded to the tube you're referring to and would give you a secondary 2" receiver. This receiver does have a 500-lbs tongue weight, but it should be noted that any time you extend a receiver away from the cross tube more than 9" that the tongue weight is reduced by approximately 50%. I've linked a review video of this part for you to check out.

The skid plate on your 2020 Ford F-150 Raptor interferes with the installation of the Draw-Tite Front Receiver # 65067. You will either need to modify the factory skid plate or consider a different option. As there is not a custom fit receiver front receiver for the Raptor you can have one fabricated using the 2" Weld-On Receiver # E17. You will want to discuss this with a local fabrication shop in your area. Another option is finding an aftermarket front bumper with the receiver built in.

  • Options For A Front Mount Trailer Hitch On A 2014 Chevy 4500
We do have a potential option for you. You would need to have a front mount hitch fabricated to fit your 2014 Chevy 4500. Unfortunately, there are not any custom fit bolt-on front hitch options. So you best bet will be to go with a weld-on hitch like the Curt # E17. You would need to take this to a professional welder/fabricator for installation.

Currently the Curt Front Trailer Hitch Receiver # 31199 is the only custom fit front receiver we carry for your 2004 Nissan Titan. I have included the installation instructions linked below so you can see how it mounts on your Titan and if it uses the same mounting locations as your plow mount.
