Video Transcript for Let’s Check Out the Super Titan Trailer Hitch Pin and Clip for 3" Receivers

Jeff: Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we take a look at the draw-tite three quarter inch diameter, hitch pin, and clip for the super Titan three inch hitches. Now this hitch pin is designed to secure your super Titan dual ball mount to your three inch super Titan hitch. And the dual ball mount is sold separately on our website. It's part number RP38180.Now this is a three quarter inch diameter pin, has the tethered clip to it.

And you notice it has a nice rubber coated handle that allow you to put pretty much all your fingers through there and give you the nice strength to be able to push it in and pull it out.The pin length overall, from right here to the very end, is right at seven inches. But the usable length, because when you do install this, you see that hole right there, after this goes through the hitch and the ball mount, you'll put your clip in there and that'll hold it into place. So the usable length is only going to be right around about six inches. This is made of a heavy duty steel with a nice zinc finish. But that should do it for the review on this draw-tite three quarter inch diameter hitch pin and clip for the super Titan three inch hitches.

Does not fit the hole on the 3" receiver purchased. Will have to return the item.

Clearly the pin is not going to work for you. It turns out that this pin is meant to be used with Reese Super Titan hitches and accessories with have a 0.75 inch diameter hole instead of the standard 0.625 diameter hole. I have asked for an update on the site and also that Customer Service has the pin returned for you. For a pin that would work you can look at part # TMX28VR.

This is one strong hitch! Very versatile as our boat requires a 2” ball and our RV requires a 2 5/8” ball it is easy to just pull it an flip it. The hitch pin hole is larger so I used an adaptor so it would fit into an OAM Ford receiver.

by:

Replaced the pin on my gooseneck trailer. The trailer is a year old and the pin was already about to fail. This one is quality and I have no doubt that it will last as long as my trailer.

  • Pin to Secure B&W # BWTEXA4200 Extend-A-Goose Coupler
According to B&W, the Extend-A-Goose Gooseneck Coupler adjustment holes are 7/8 inch in diameter. I'd recommend using the Draw-Tite # 58388 as a through pin. The pin is 6 inches long by 3/4 inches in diameter.

  • What Diameter Hitch Pin Does BulletProof Hitches Adjustable 2-Ball Mount Use
The BulletProof Hitches Adjustable 2-Ball Mount for 3" Hitch # 58388 that you are interested has a 5/8 inch diameter hitch pin hole which is the standard size for 3 inch hitches. Most likely this is what you have as a 3/4 inch diameter hitch pin would be very rare. You might measure again.

  • Pin Recommendation for the Extend-A-Goose Gooseneck Coupler # BWTEXA4200
According to B&W, the Extend-A-Goose Gooseneck Coupler # BWTEXA4200 adjustment holes are 7/8 inch in diameter. I'd recommend using the Draw-Tite # 58388 as a through pin. The pin is 6 inches long by 3/4 inches in diameter. A pin is not included with the coupler.

  • Can You Use a 5/8" Hitch Pin On 3" Hitch with 3/4" Hitch Pin Hole
If the trailer hitch has a 3/4" diameter hitch pin hole then that is what you'll need to use when towing with said hitch even when using an adapter such as the Curt Hitch Receiver Reducer Sleeves part # C45408. If you don't have a 3/4" diameter hitch pin we do offer the Super Titan Trailer Hitch Pin and Clip part # 58388. There would be too much slop with the smaller pin to be safely used inside the larger opening.

  • Longest Available Receiver Hitch Pin Span Locking and Non-Locking
The Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock # 63259 is going to be our longest locking pin with a 4" usable length pin. We do have the Super Titan Trailer Hitch Pin and Clip # 58388 that is specific to the Reese Super Titan 3" receiver. This has a usable length of 6" but is not locking an had a 3/4" diameter specific to the Super Titan receiver.

  • Adapter to Use a Tow Bar with a 2 inch Shank in a 3 inch Hitch Receiver Opening
I do have a way for you to use your Avail tow bar with a 3-inch hitch receiver, however, there are no replacement shanks that fit a 3-inch hitch receiver. All you need to use a tow bar that fits a 2-inch hitch receiver in a 3-inch hitch receiver is use the Buyers Products Receiver Adapter # 337RTA302. This will reduce the receiver opening size on your trailer hitch from 3 inches to 2 inches so that you can use any tow bar with a 2-inch shank. It has a Gross Towing Weight (GTW) capacity...

  • Pin Hole Size for the Curt Hitch Receiver Reducer Sleeves # C45408
Both of the pin hole diameters for the Curt Hitch Receiver Reducer Sleeves # C45408 that you referenced are 3/4 inch. Since your hitch's pin hole is larger at 5/8 inch you could just go with a 3/4 inch pin like what this fits like part # 58388 and you'd be set.

  • Will the # 40107 Receiver Lock Work In a 3 Inch Receiver Hitch
The Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock - Stainless Steel Flush Design for 2 inch Trailer Hitch, item # 40107, will not work on a hitch with a 3 inch receiver opening. Three Inch Super Titan hitches require a 3/4 inch hitch pin like the Super Titan Trailer Hitch Pin and Clip for 3 inch Receivers, item # 58388. We do not have a 3/4 inch locking hitch pin available. If you have a 2 inch, inside dimension, square hitch opening or a 2-1/2 inch hitch opening, then I would recommend the Trailer Hitch...

  • Ball Mount Compatible With An Older Putnam Hitch That Uses A 3/4 Inch Hitch Pin
I took a look at what we have, and I was able to find the: -Gen-Y 2-Ball Mount for 2-1/2" Hitch Receivers # 325-GH-064. This ball mount will use the larger 3/4" hitch pin # 58388 that you mentioned you have, however this ball mount is designed to fit into 3" x 3" trailer hitch receivers. If your receiver opening is smaller, you can use the Curt Hitch Receiver Reducer Sleeves # C45408. This reducer sleeve will allow you to adapt the ball mount to your 2-1/2" or 2" receiver opening. • Adapter to Go From 3 Inch Hitch of 2017 Ford F-250 to 2 inch HItch
If the truck you buy does have a 3-inch hitch installed on it the Buyers Products Adapter Part # 337RTA302 would be the correct adapter as it will slide into the hitch and provide you with a 2-inch hitch. A standard hitch pin that you would have for the 3-inch hitch would be all you need to secure the adapter like part # 58388. Then for a pin for the 2-inch hitch you would want the part # PC3.

  • Hitch Pin for Use in 3-Inch Hitch Receiver on Ford F-250
We do offer a specialized heavy-duty zinc hitch pin (with grip handle and included clip) for use in 3-inch hitch receivers such as the Super Titan 3000 Weld-on Trailer Hitch with 3-Inch Receiver Opening # 38023. The pin part number is # 58388 and it has an overall length of 6-inches. The linked video illustrates.

  • Should Hitch Pin Hole Be Exact Diameter as Hitch Pin
Some wiggle is actually pretty normal. It's not recommended to have a pin that fits exact to the hitch pin hole as it would make it very difficult to line up the hitch pin and the hole in the shank of the hitch accessory.
