Today we're gonna look at the step for Curt adjustable ball mount. Yeah, this is gonna be a really nice sturdy step for the back of your vehicle. Whether you need a little extra step getting into the back of your truck bed, or maybe on top of your step to get to your roof rack. Or really whatever area you need this, it's gonna be really handy to have. It's basically just going to mount into that channel ball mount via the two holes in the side. Now, there's no bolts that come with this, you will have to pick those up separately. But then you can also pull one of those, and then rotate it up into a more stored position.
It's a nice option so you don't have to have this sticking out of the back of your vehicle all the time. You can have that storage position to make it a little easier to drive around town with.In the center, it's kind of like a handle there, so it makes it a little easier to lift up, 'cause this is fairly heavy. I'd say it weighs about six or seven pounds at least. So it's a good solid piece of sturdy carbon steel. And we have this nice black powder coat finish so you don't have to worry about any rusting or corrosion.
It's kind of got a raised texture to it. Almost feels like forged steel. And then embossed in there is sort of a small diamond plate pattern. So it's gonna help to give you a better grip with that non-skid surface. Now as far as the measurements with this, it is going to be 16 inches long. And then the width is gonna go anywhere from about 5&1/2 inches from the very edge to where it meets with its mounting bracket. And then at the narrowest point, it's more like 4&1/4.
So so as you can see, about 5&1/2 inches there, goes out to about 4&1/4 once we get to the side of the step.Whenever you have this folded up, or I should say from the center of those two mounting holes out, it's gonna be about seven inches. So that'll be the total length that you've added on to your vehicle. But then whenever you fold it up, again that is gonna make it a bit narrower. Now it's going to sit back about 2&1/2 inches. So makes quite a difference whenever you're trying to park or fit into the garage, or anything like that. The thickness of the steel is going to be about 3/4s of an inch as well.
So again, a very sturdy step. The weight capacity is gonna be 500 lbs. So it should be right for just about any application that you throw at this.ANd that's gonna do it for our look at the step for Curt adjustable channel ball mount.

Slipped twice and put it away. Too late for a return now.
The ball and mount look robust but when put together there is a lot of movement in the fit. I would expect a hitch and pieces that are rated at 20,000 lbs. to be a tighter fit.
