Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this etrailer fifth wheel kingpin lock in the yellow color. Now this is a heavy duty kingpin lock. This will help prevent theft of your fifth wheel trailer. The lock itself is made of an aircraft grade aluminum collar that'll fit around a two inch diameter kingpin, and they use a pick-proof steel locking pin that'll secure the collar in place. The rubber end on this, you can see right over here, and the textured block core on this end makes it very easy to grip the lock when you're installing it or removing it.
They do have a plastic cap that's attached, it's tethered to it, and that'll be used to cover the key slot to help prevent internal corrosion. Now if you notice on the pin itself, it's a nice chrome finish on the pin and a nice bright yellow powder coat finish on the collar. This will help resist rust and corrosion. Also, what's nice is that bright yellow color on the collar, let's would be thief show that your trailer kingpin is protected. Now the keys that are included, it's two of them, and they're dual cut keys, meaning they're cut on both sides.
It is an automotive style key, and the dual cut will allow you to install the key into the lock either way. So when you go to unlock it, you can put the key in just like that. It'll go in that way, or if you flip it around, it'll go in that way also. So it'll go in in either way. And I did want to demonstrate how this lock would work.
And I happened to pull a, here's a replica of a kingpin, two inch diameter kingpin that would be on your fifth wheel. So again, basically what you'll do is put your key in and once your key's in there, you'll just turn this key and you'll unscrew the lock core. So it's like unscrewing a screw. And once you get it turned enough, it'll come right off. Slide your pin out, take your aluminum collar, slide it right around the kingpin, take your pin, slide it all the way through.
And then with your key still in the locked core, what you'll do is go ahead and put that on there and twist it. And once it lines up into place, go ahead and turn your key again, or you could actually turn this portion. But once you turn your key enough, you're tightening it down. And once you get it tightened down all the way, just take out your key, put your plastic cover over there and you can see that pin is now locked with that collar around your kingpin. Keep anybody from attaching to take away your fifth wheel. Now these locks can be keyed alike to match other etrailer locks. Basically what you'll do is select the keyed alike option from the dropdown menu on the product page. Enter the number of locks you want into the quantity box. This part is made in the USA. A few specs on this. Let me go ahead and remove it, and we'll give you some specs on the collar and on the locking pin, just so you'll know. We'll go ahead and unlock it. And once we get it removed, we'll go ahead and install this back into place. And I just wanna give you some measurements on both the pin, you got our key. So on the pin itself, the diameter is five eights of an inch. The overall length from one end to the other end is gonna be right at five and seven eighths inches. And then the inside length, which is the inside span right here, that's gonna measure right at two and five eighths inches. Now the collar itself, the overall outer width, three and one eighth inches. Inner width is two and one eighth inches. And then the overall height on this is right at one and a half, one and one half inches. But that's gonna do it for the review on this etrailer fifth wheel kingpin lock in the yellow color.
