Loctite Lubricants Sealants Adhesives - LT37467

This black silicone gasket maker forms a high-quality gasket that seals the space between matched parts to prevent leakage of automotive fluids and gases. It meets manufacturers' specifications for original equipment.

  • Seals joined parts in automotive systems - prevents leakage of antifreeze, air, oil and transmission fluid
  • Meets manufacturers' warranty requirements
  • Resists oil better than other silicone gasket makers
  • Won't interfere with sensors
  • Won't corrode
  • Resists vibration
  • Made in the USA

  • Quantity: 2.7-fl oz tube (80 mL)
  • Tack-free cure (time required to dry past tacky state): 30 minutes
  • Full cure (time required to reach full set): 24 hours
  • Temperature range (endurance limits of the gasket maker): -75 F to 625 F
  • Ideal gap-filling capacity (gap sizes in which gasket maker performs best): 0.001" to 0.125"
  • Maximum gap-filling capacity (maximum gap size between joined parts): 0.240"

Applications: Valve covers, oil pans, timing covers, water pumps and thermostat housings

Applied as a gel to just one surface of the parts to be joined, silicone gasket maker forms a seal between them, keeping out contaminants. Silicone gasket maker resists oil and shop fluids, vibration, heat, and flexing of parts, replacing many conventional gaskets. Parts joined by this silicone gasket maker can easily be removed. The old gasket material comes off effortlessly, simplifying future disassembly and reassembly.

Because of their ability to flex and compress, silicone gasket makers work better than other kinds of gasket makers when the parts to be joined are made of different materials, which have different rates of expansion and contraction when temperatures change. They also work better than other types of gasket makers on stamped metal parts that can flex and in situations where clearances can be large.

Works great, have used it many times this past year to tow a small trailer and sailboat with my 2013 Chevy Volt. Seems to be very safe and secure so far.

Great product and the usual excellent service from etrailer !!!!

This went on without a problem on a 2022 Subaru Outback thankfully providing the built-in wiring harness that is located under the right side rear trim piece, I did not need to remove. I used 3M Dual Lock in case the control unit needs to be easily moved in the future. Using this for a OneUp Bike Rack and their license plate and LED light bar.

Bearing buddy is still on the trailer and the wheel is still turning.

Originally ordered to close extra holes in a Yakima Rocket Box that required new hardware. Does the job.

etrailer provides excellent information, support and customer service. I wish every online vendor was close.

Works as advertised. Pretty simple install. As usual great quality product(s) from etrailer

The trailer hitch wiring kit arrived on time and complete. The YouTube video for my Cadillac SRX was invaluable in helping me to complete the installation and avoid problems.

Still working great
Ray B - 10/21/2016

easy install, works great!

I used this to seal the installation holes on my hitch mount. The stuff is very easy to work with and sets up nicely. Work great and provides a great finished seal.
Etrailer had the best price I could find also.

No problems whatsoever. Great stuff!
Jeff A - 07/24/2016

LocTite black colour gasket like silicone is excellent product overall. Perfectly dose what it was designed for. Thanks ETrailer.

After a year I am still very happy with its performance, no problems at all.
IvanB - 06/09/2017

Professional installed. Working well after 1 year. Expect it to keep working.

Hasn’t cracked or leaked in a year. Thumbs up!

Used this to make a gasket/seal around a stop/turn signal light I added to my toad vehicle. No problem, worked great.

Its has held up, no leaks. No problems
Ken S - 03/05/2017

i used this product when I put together my cargo carrier. I put it on the bolts before I screwed on the nuts for added insurance to keep the carrier nice and solid.

I used this to seal the hole I had to drill in my car when installing my hitch to keep water and exhaust out of the cabin, it dried quickly and created a good seal to keep stuff out

Used during 2012 VW Jetta TDI sedan hitch and wiring installation (per video recommendation).

Did not work to seal up my failing brake light gasket. Also very smelly in spite of being labeled as "low odor"

works well, be careful on the pressure you apply. I applied too much pressure (i was rushing it) and it went out the back end... complete user error but be warned.

Good product.

Did not use it, rating based on prior u se.

Saw it used in the video to install tail lights. Worked great and sealed the light assembly. Easy to use.

Very solid product. Easy to install.

Great sealant. Worked exactly as expect ed.

The carrier performs just as it was designed. Putting the rubber sleeves on was difficult and the sealer has already pealed of . Before I use it again I will put silicone caulk on the joints

This is the BEST RTV ever.
FAST delivery.
PERFECT transaction!
Thank you for a job well done!!

Work just like it should

  • Recommended Parts to Re-Install Lock Mechanism on 1997 Thule Rooftop Cargo Box
Thule does not supply the cargo box lock mounting rivets as replacement parts; this is because these are not intended to be removed. But you certainly can substitute other hardware, and that does not necessarily even have to be rivets, to re-install the lock assembly on your '97 Thule cargo box. Since this hardware will see some exposure to the elements I suggest that you select stainless-steel bolts, washers and nuts. Your local full-service hardware store should have a decent assortment...

Unfortunately we don't have a custom fit tail light gasket for your 1999 American Tradition Motorhome. If you are just looking for that watertight seal, I recommend the Loctite RTV 598 High-Performance Silicone Gasket Maker - Black - 2.7-Fl Oz Tube # LT37467.

  • Can You Drill Holes in a Thule Cargo Box to Move it Forward and Clear the Rear Hatch
Yes, you can drill new holes in your Thule Frontier Cargo Box in order to clear the rear hatch on your 2018 Subaru Outback Wagon. I also recommend using part # LT37467 to cover up the old holes so water doesn't get in. The only thing you need to be aware of when drilling new holes is how you load the cargo box. Since the front of the box is going to be moved further away from the crossbars you will just want to make sure you keep the heavier items towards the rear and centered on the crossbars.

  • Modification of MaxxHaul Heavy Duty Headache Rack MT70234 for Light Bar Installation
The MaxxTow MaxxHaul Heavy Duty Headache Rack # MT70234 does have 2 x 2-inch square steel tube construction so the top horizontal surface could well be used as a mounting point for some lights. Of course, the modification needed - cutting off the vertical load stops on each end and drilling holes for your light bar - would void the item warranty. You would also want to be sure to close off those openings so water cannot enter and cause corrosion/rust. RTV sealant # LT37467 will provide...

  • Recommended 2016 Keystone Sprinter Control Box Sealant
The sealant on the Lippert Control box you referenced is simply a high performance gasket sealant. I recommend the Loctite RTV 598 High-Performance Silicone Gasket Maker - Black # LT37467 as a replacement to keep that box sealed tight from the elements. Keep a wet rag close by when using this as it can be messy and also sticky. It will take only 30 minutes to set but 24 hours to cure.

  • Can You Drill Holes in Thule Cargo Box to Fit Shorter Crossbars on 2016 Subaru Crosstrek
Yes, you can drill new holes in your Thule cargo box in order to mount this on your 2016 Subaru Crosstrek. When you drill the holes you need to make sure you maintain the correct spacing for your existing mounting hardware. After drilling new holes, I recommend sealing the old holes with # LT37467 Loctite RTV 598 High-Performance Silicone Gasket Maker.

  • Can T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118449 be Routed Under a 2008 Toyota highlander
We do not carry the grommet in question for your 2008 Toyota Highlander, but you may still be able to route the wiring under the vehicle and to the hitch using an existing grommet near the connection point for the wiring harness at the rear of the Highlander. If there is a near by grommet that allows access to the outside of the vehicle, what you can do is to cut a small slit in it, pass the 4-Way through, and pull it over to the hitch. You will want to then seal up the slit using silicone...

  • Installation of Class I Trailer Hitch 24754 in 2012 Mitsubishi Eclipse
Yes, the minor drilling needed to install Draw-Tite hitch # 24754 in your 2012 Mitsubishi Eclipse can be done with a 1/2-inch bit rather than the specified 15/32 bit. You can use the slightly larger bit since the hole to be drilled takes the 7/16-inch carriage bolt that is secured by a hex nut. You will want to apply a sealer like # LT37467 to the top of the bolt (from inside the trunk) to prevent entry of exhaust gases as you drive.

  • Recommendation for Adding Battery to Toolbox on Travel Trailer Tongue
Depending on how you mount the battery inside the tongue mounted tool box like # 3371701680, you may or may not need longer battery cables. Since your battery is already mounted in this location, you most likely just need to drill holes and reconnect the same wires. I recommend using the Loctite RTV 598 High-Performance Silicone Gasket Maker # LT37467 to seal those holes to protect moisture from becoming an issue. Actually the Draw Tite hitch for you 2020 Volvo XC40, part # 76245, uses existing M10 flange nuts that are already on your vehicle to install. There isn't any additional hardware that you need. I do recommend getting a tube of sealant like part # LT37467 that gets used to install the hitch. Take a look at the installation video and you'll see where the sealant is used. The Yakima Little Joe 3 bike carrier is something of a bare-bones bike carrier and so I understand your interest in giving it an upgrade by using the SuperCush Anti-Sway Cradles # 8880598. I measured the rack arm diameter and found it to be 1-1/8-inches; I also measured the hole diameter of the cradles and found that to be 1-1/4-inches. So, the cradle will fit on the rack arm with room to spare. I recommend that you avoid drilling into the rack arms to install the cradles as this might...
