Video Transcript for Feature Breakdown: LubriMatic Marine Trailer Wheel Bearing Grease

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at the LubriMatic marine trailer wheel bearing grease in these 3-ounce cartridges for a quantity of three. Now this'll provide excellent corrosion protection against severe conditions that can be caused by salt water and salt air. You can use this grease on wheel bearings including disc brake wheel bearings, swivel hinges, pins, winches, and anchor chain reels. This is a special calcium sulfonate complex water insoluble formula, so it's ideal for marine applications. This grease is rated GC-LB by the NLGI #2, has a dropping point of 550 degrees Fahrenheit.

Again, the specs we mentioned, it's for three 3-ounce cartridges. Now to install this grease, it does need to be used with a mini grease gun which we do sell separate on our website. And you want to get the mini grease gun that's designed to use these 3-ounce cartridges. That grease gun we sell separately as part number L30100. Now the overall dimension on each cartridge is about 6 inches long by about 1 1/4 inch diameter.

And one note I do wanna mention, you do not want to mix grease types. So when you go to install this, you should remove the old grease before applying any new grease. But that should do it for the review on the LubriMatic Marine trailer wheel bearing grease in the 3-ounce cartridges for a quantity of three..

  • What Grease Is Used With the CE Smith Trailer Idler Hub Assemblies?
The CE Smith Trailer Idler Hub Assembly # CE13315 does come with Calcium Sulfonate grease. We have the Marine Grease # L54FR that is safe to use with their pre-greased hubs. This would require the LubriMatic Mini Grease Gun # 30-800 to use the 3oz tubes.

  • Bearing Kit Options For Tracker Pontoon Boat Trailer With Bearing L44649 & Dexter 010-019 Seal
Based on what you gave me I can narrow it down to one of two bearing kits for your Tracker boat trailer. Since you mentioned L44610 that means one of the bearings is L44649, and when combined with the Dexter 010-019-00 grease seal, that leaves two options. One is for a 3,500 lb axle and the other is for a 2,200 lb axle, so you can check and see what your axle rating is, which will help decide: - 2,200 lb Axle: Bearing Kit, L44649 Inner/Outer Bearings, 10-60 Seal # BK1-150 - 3,500 lb Axle:...

  • When Should More Marine Grease Be Added To MORryde Wet Bolts
Hey Brian, Marine grease # L54FR is designed to repel water so you shouldn't need to re-grease the wet bolts of the MORryde Suspension Upgrade Kit # MR76ZR every single trip. It's really going to come down to how long the trailer is sitting in the water and how many miles you're travelling. A 250 mile trip isn't going to run you out of grease. If you're driving a thousand miles I'd probably add a bit more grease to keep everything in good condition and clean out any debris you might have...

Hey Malcolm, The LubriMatic Marine Trailer Wheel Bearing Grease # L54FR isn't going to be compatible with the 11465 grease you were using. That said, I do have some good news as that grease is in fact still made and available. What you need is the LubriPlate Poly HP-2 Wheel Bearing Grease # L11465.

Before installing the Replacement Bushing for Roadmaster Anti-Sway Bar, Item # RM-205219-10, be sure to grease the part of the bar where the bushing will be going to preserve the life of the bushing. This bushing does not come with grease so you will need to use something like LubriMatic Marine Trailer Wheel Bearing Grease, Item # L54FR and a compatible grease gun like the # 30-800. According to Roadmaster, you can grease the Comfort Ride Leaf Spring Suspension # RM-2460-2570 wear pads if you want to. If you choose to do this, they recommend marine grease like # L54FR. The reason you don't see anything about adding grease or any maintenance in the instructions is because it is not required.

Both fit the spindles on this Timbren kit and both have the 5-on-4-1/2 wheel bolt pattern. If you don't mind spending more we also have a stainless steel idler hub from Kodiak, part # KH84545S. For as trashed as those brake assemblies are I am impressed with how spotless that spindle is! Based on the bearing numbers you mentioned you have a #84 spindle and the hub part # AKHD-545-35-G-K is correct. Since this its galvanized it's a really great option as it will fight corrosion. The flexible brake line kits like the part # 18SI-BLKIT is what I would go with. They are just as durable as anything else and a lot easier to install. The Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 2,000-lb Axles - 4 on 4 - L44643 Bearings - Pre-Greased # AKIHUB-440-2-1K won't fit your trailer spindle as it will be too long. The reason is, this hub is designed to work on BT8 spindles, which are longer than what you have. The only solution we can offer is to replace your short and older spindles with a new one that will work with the Trailer Idler Hub Assembly # AKIHUB-440-2-1K, which is the BT8 Spindle for 2,000 lb Trailer Axles # TRU59FR. I reached out to CE Smith, who told me the Trailer Hub Assembly with Carrying Case for 2,500-lb Axles - 4 on 4 - Pre-Greased # CE13110 uses a marine grade grease similar to the LubriMatic Marine Trailer Wheel Bearing Grease # L54FR. At one point the grease was in fact red but they changed it to the greener in color grease, with the only difference being the color, as both are marine-grade. I have added a link below to a video review of this grease if you'd like to take a look.

  • Selecting Replacement Bearings for Boat Trailer with Lippert Axle
I checked with Lippert for the part number you referenced, A252875, but there was no match on this. Still it is easy enough to determine which set of replacement bearings you'll need by simply pulling one hub/drum and checking the existing bearings for their part numbers. Usually bearings will have their part number stamped into their outer housing as shown in the lower-left portion of the linked photo. Once you have your inner and outer bearing numbers it is easy to use our search box...

  • Choosing Idler Hubs to Replace Rusted Brake Hub/Drums on Jet Ski Trailer
Yes, we can help you select compatible idler hubs for your jet ski trailer. Replacement idler hubs (hubs without a brake drum) can be selected by first confirming the axle's weight rating; this should be indicated on a plate or sticker on the axle itself, or on the trailer's VIN sticker. You need to choose hubs that are properly rated for the weight load that will be on them. You also need to match your wheels' bolt pattern. Next you need to pull one of your existing hub/drum assemblies...

  • Recommend Grease That Is Compatible With Boat Trailer Bearings
I recommend using the Calcium Sulfonate grease like the LubriMatic Marine Trailer Wheel Bearing Grease - 3 oz. Cartridge # L54FR. You're able to combine the calcium sulfonate grease and the anhydrous calcium grease together. You need to make sure your quantities and amounts are mixed correctly so it is not too thick. If the grease is too thick it will not operate under the same temperature changes and will not be as fluid to lubricate all the smaller parts of the bearing. If you have any...

Bearing Buddy Bearing Protectors like # BB2717SS will not work with E-Z lube axles unless you remove the grease zerk fitting like you mentioned from the spindle. Once that grease zerk is removed, then the Bearing Buddy will work as intended using the spring loaded design and integrated grease zerk to keep the bearings well lubricated and maintained. When adding grease, you need to be careful not to mix styles of grease as they aren't compatible in most instances. So you will either want...

I spoke with my contact at Optronics and in order to use the Sealed, 4" Round LED Trailer Stop, Turn and Tail Light, # STL43RB, in the saltwater environment, you will want to use marine grease like part # L54FR on the Straight 3-Wire Pigtail Plug, # A45PB, and then seal around the plug with a silicone sealant like part # 0160297. This will help to prevent any water from getting into the light housing during the constant in and out of saltwater service that your boat gets.

  • Wet Shackle Bolts to Reduce Noise from Tandem Axle Travel Trailer Suspension
If you think the cause for the noise on your 2015 Jayco Whitehawk 24RBS tandem-axle travel trailer is from the normal travel of the suspension components (leaf springs, equalizers and shackle straps), you might switch over to wet bolts. The squeaking noises from trailer suspension can be reduced by replacing standard shackle bolts with wet bolts.
