Today, on our 2008 Dodge Ram Pickup, we'll be installing the Westin Premier Oval Tube Steps, 6 inch wide, part number 22-6030-1015. Note that the short bracket will go to the front, and the long, or taller bracket will be the rear attachment point. Now, to begin our install, we'll first need to remove the front and rear body mount bolts. Once we have them removed, we'll then move to the inside of the rocker panel, and uncover and expose the cutout hole covered up by the tape. Next, we'll go ahead and put the T-bolt inside the cutout hole of the rocker panel, and secure it with a plastic flat washer. Next, we'll take our forward bracket, flat washer, long bolt, and secure the bracket to the mount.

Now, once we install the hardware finger tight, we'll go ahead and run it down. However, we'll leave the bracket loose enough that it can be moved in or out as necessary.Next, we'll install the bracket support. The bracket support will go over the T-bolt in the rocker panel, and get secured with a flat washer, split lock washer, and then a nut. Once again, we'll install all of our hardware finger tight, until we have it all in place. And then we'll bolt it to the bracket using the bolt flat washer going through the bracket and support, then securing with a flat washer, split lock washer, and nut.

Once again, we'll install all of our hardware finger tight, until we have it all in place. Once we have the forward and rear brackets in place, we can then go ahead and install the four-studded t-fastener into the tube step. To do this, we'll take it . turn it side ways, feed it through the opening, and then pull it back up, so that the four studs are sticking down and out the bottom of the tube step. We'll need one for each bracket, so we'll have one at the front and back of our tube step.Once we have our fasteners in place, we'll then go ahead to prepare and set it on the bracket.

Then, we'll repeat the same process for our rear attachment point. Now, with our fasteners inside the tube step, we'll prepare to set it onto our brackets. Between the tube step and bracket will be a spacer. The spacer will line up with the studs coming out of the bottom of the tube step, and then line up with the bracket. We'll secure each fastener with a flat washer and nylon lock nut.

We'll do this for both front and rear brackets. Now, with all the hardware installed, we can go ahead and tighten it down. Next, we'll torque specifications, as indicated with . in the instructions. Now, with one tube step installed and secured, we'll go ahead and repeat the same process on the other side. And with both steps installed, we're now ready to hit the road.
