Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at a 30 ton pintle hook. This is a bolt on 30 ton pintle hook that's constructed of drop forged steel. It also features a nice black powder coated finish which is designed through distress and corrosion.It is a bolt on installation. Mounting hardware not included. The included instructions indicates use four 3/4 inch grade eight bolts. it is designed to work with a lunette ring that has an inner diameter of 2 3/8 inches to three inches, with 1 3/8 to 1 5/8 diameter section.Now to open the unit, basically what you need to do is remove the pin and clip.
Right there. And then you have the pull knob here on the side. So you pull that and then lift up. So that's how the unit opens. This allows you to gain easy access to it and make your connections as necessary.
When you're ready to close it, all you got to do is press down until that knob engages. Then to secure it in this position, you reinstall the included pin and secure with a clip. Now the pin and clip are attached with a chain right here so you don't misplace that or lose it.A few measurements that I want to go over with you really quick. The measurement that we get here at the mounting base, edge to edge. We're going in this direction.
This gives us a measurement of about 6 5/16 of an inch and then very top to very bottom measures about 6 5/8 inches tall. The mount holes on the unit, they're separated on center by 4 1/2 inches. That's both side by side and up and down.The maximum gross trailer weight capacity for this unit is 60,000 pounds. Maximum tow weight capacity is 15,000 pounds.That's going to do it for today's look at the 30 ton bolt on pintle hook.

This hitch was perfect for my truck.The others I looked at were either to small or had air assist that was overkill. It came on time, great price.

Ordered two of these to put on our class 8 winch trucks to tow conveyor trailers. Seem to be of very good quality and well constructed. We have only towed the trailer twice so can't really tell you how well they stand up to the task.
