Video Transcript for Hands-On with the Kelty Discovery H2GO Portable Dressing Room

Hi, everyone. It's Evangeline here at etrailer. And today, we'll be taking a look at our Kelty H2GO dressing room or privacy shelter, right here at etrailer.com. So this is a three-season dressing room, which allows you to get a little bit of privacy. It's really quick and easy to set up. We'll take a look at that process later in this video, but right now, we're gonna focus on its different features and measurements to see what kind of situations will this work best for you for.

So the first thing I wanna take a look at is gonna be your door. So you're gonna have two zippers on the front and the back. That way, if you just wanna use this for shade, you can roll up the door, and then secure it with these straps right over here. So this makes for a quick and easy free-standing shelter, just for when you want some shade or wanna get out of the wind. You're gonna have mesh top as well as one single mesh window.

So you're gonna have that zipper here. So when you open up that zipper, that window as well can be rolled up and then secured with another tab. This has a very fine mesh, which is rated for keeping out even those no-see-ums. Now while the mesh they use for the top, the window, as well as the side accents are really fine, this will won't keep all the bugs out because of the way the floor is made. So unlike a tent, this sits above the ground.

We have a mesh floor as well as another piece here. That's gonna be helpful from when you're gonna take a shower. So here, we have our roll-up floor with a built-in drain. So the sides are gonna be the mesh. Now if you want that floor, you just go ahead and use the hooks over there and secure it to these tabs in the corners.

So why would you wanna use that floor Well, when you have water coming down, this will hit this tarp and make sure you're not standing in the mud and dirty sand, then the water will drain out to the sides. So where is that water coming from So you have two different options here. Well, three, if you go for the third one, which is I use a bucket, fill that up with water, and then just use a scoop. But if you wanna be a little bit fancier, you can use either the hook on top and hook up a solar shower like what I have here from Coghlan's or the RoadShower from Yakima. You can also get access to a little hose vent right over here in the corner. That center hook on top is pretty small, so I recommend using your own carabiner or getting another carabiner here from etrailer to use it. The good news is though that that can support up to five gallons with a fully filled-up bag. You're gonna have two mesh pockets here, and then this is a perfect spot to put your items for when you need to shower like your phone, your glasses, your shampoo, your conditioner, your soap, your toothbrushes, whatever you can think of. Another thing about those side pockets is if they're not high enough to store your essentials, you also have two ceiling pockets. Now let's talk about dimensions. So your actual floor space is gonna be 14-by-5 feet. And then for the maximum height, that's gonna be 86 inches or a little over seven feet. Your width and your length are gonna be the same. It's a square, and that's gonna be 46 inches long as well as wide. Your rainfly attaches to the hooks that are already on your poles, so go ahead and attach all four hooks. So storm is kicking up here at etrailer. So once all four corners of your rainfly are secured, go ahead and zip up those windows and those doors. As I zip this up, notice how we have those seams on the inside just to help maintain that water resistance. So speaking of water resistance, notice how even as I pour the water onto our dressing room here or our privacy shelter, it just falls right off of the material itself. You will have to be conscious though of the mesh underneath. You also have an integrated clothes line over here to the side. So if you did your laundry or let's say you're at the beach and you just need to hang up your towels or your clothes, they can go right here. So it's been a pretty windy day here at etrailer, and our dressing room has held up even against that wind, which is awesome. That's because we have these steel poles, giving that durability as well as our stakes tightened down, stick down for that stability. So let's take a look at that install process. So this is what your H2GO to go is gonna look like when it arrives. It's all ready to go in its compact position. We have this 14-pound bag with an easy-to-use strap, making it convenient to keep inside your trailer, your vehicle, or even with your pack, ready to go when you're ready to go. So the dimensions of this bag is gonna be 28 inches long by eight inches tall and then eight inches deep. Now this will depend on how tightly you are able to tighten up or roll up your dressing room when you're done with a good guesstimation of how much space it's going to take up. So we are going to start opening it up and assembling it. And this is a one-person job, so you can do this all by yourself. We have a cinch strap on the top of our bag, keeping everything safe. So then let's uncinch that and then remove our components. So here are the components of your H2GO kit. You're gonna have your stakes included. We'll use that later. You're gonna have your poles. We'll set that up after we set up the square tent. One thing not included but I recommend adding on is gonna be your mallet with your stake puller. Gonna make it so much easier later on. So you're gonna lay out your tarp in a square, and you are gonna have your corners underneath. So what you want above are gonna be your corner stakes. Next, you're gonna set up your pole. So I already set three of them up, and this is how it works. You're gonna have a tab on the inside of your center hub. That tab is where that pole inserts into, and make sure that it pops out. And then you're gonna continue with the rest of your tent poles. You're then going to assemble your tent poles over your tarp, and then you're gonna connect the tarp to the poles using the stakes. So see this stake This is gonna fit right inside the hole on the pole, or I guess underneath the pole. That fits right in there and secures that pole. Don't forget to put the clip into the center hook or the center hub on top. So your tarp is gonna have these clips, and then these hook right into your poles. Do them on all four corners. There's gonna be one, two, three on each pole. So now you're gonna stake out your guyline. So you just pull the guyline out, and then you're gonna wrap it around your pole for extra stability. You also have a little loop over here. It's really up to you what you think is gonna be best. And then once you've gotten the security or stability that you want, go ahead and stake those lines down. Fortunately, these have guyline adjusters. So you can go ahead and get the tension you want, and then lock your guyline into place. So you're actually gonna be given eight stakes. So you'll only need to use four for the guylines. But what I found as an extra piece of security is you can go ahead and stake down the corners of your tent if you want to or if you're gonna be hanging out for a little longer. Before fully completing the install, if you wanna install the rainfly, you also have that right here. That's gonna have a hook, that hooks into the top and covers your tent. So that's how you assemble your main portion of your H2GO dressing room. So my personal thoughts about this dressing room or privacy shelter is one, I'm very impressed by how it's held up. We have our stakes, they're giving all that support and all that stability. Even in the wind, I feel nice and secure inside of our dressing room. It was also pretty easy to set up once you know what you're doing. Make sure to follow our assembly process to make sure you get through that whole process smoothly. Now I do like the material as well as our different options. It's a dressing room, it's a privacy room, it's a shower room, and you can have the ability to dress accordingly. And that was a look right here at our Kelty H2GO dressing room at etrailer.com. My name is Evangeline, and I hope you enjoyed the journey..
