MB Sturgis Propane Fittings - 100833-24

  • Hoses
  • Pigtail Hoses
  • 2 Feet Long
  • 1/4 Inch - MIF
  • Type 1 - Female
  • MB Sturgis

Pigtail makes the connection from the propane tanks on your trailer to the propane regulator on your trailer. Check valve prevents backflow leakage and is suitable for dual-tank setups. Stainless Steel overbraiding protects hose from damage.

Features:

  • Propane pigtail connects your propane cylinder to a regulator
    • Used for single or dual tank setups on the front of your travel trailer
  • Female Type 1 fitting connects to the valve on your propane cylinder
  • Male Inverted flare connects to a propane regulator
  • Built-in bypass mode shuts gas off when flow reaches maximum capacity for safety
    • Thermal shut-off device turns off gas flow in extreme heat caused by open flame
    • Excess-flow safety device limits gas flow in the event of a severe leak
  • Stainless steel overbraid protects the hose from damage
  • Durable thermoplastic hose and brass fittings approved for LP gas only
    • Rated for high pressure and high flow rate to handle unregulated propane
    • UL569 and ANSI Z21-81 certified
  • Made in the USA

Specs:

  • Temperature range: -40 F to 140 F
  • Hose dimensions: 24" long x 1/4" inner diameter
  • Hose fittings:
    • Type 1 tank connection
    • 1/4" Male inverted flare
  • Maximum pressure rating: 350 psi
  • Maximum flow capacity: 450,000 Btu per hour
  • 1-Year limited warranty

Bypass Mode for Safety

This Type 1 connector will go into bypass mode if the flow rate surpasses the maximum flow capacity for this connector, which is 450,000 Btu per hour. A ball inside of the fitting will push an internal spring down, pressing firmly against the bottom of the fitting to shut off the flow of gas.

When choosing a Type 1 connector, consider your overall propane demands and choose a connector with a flow rate that just exceeds it. That way, you won't trigger the bypass mode during normal use, but it will trigger in the event of a leak. If the bypass valve engages, stop using gas and start checking your connections for leaks.

Worst ever not etrailers fault. Package say 24”. My measuring tape says 14 1/4” serious miss label.

by:

These hoses seem fine. I had an older hose that the overflow safety valve wouldn't let any gas at all pass through it. Nothing to do but replace it.

Working fine now. All these new type hoses require the gas valve to be turned on very, very slowly because if you turn it on too fast, you will exceed the flow rate for a second and the bypass valve will shut.

by:

The hose came just as you said. It fits. Now my trailer has heat! Thanks.

by:

The service at e-trailer is just incred ible!

by:

Haven't had it on there long enough, but hopefully the squirrels will leave the stainless braid alone. They chewed through the stainless tape.

Squirrels have moved on.

Seems like a good American made products. I have total of 12 of these hoses in different lengths and use on portable cooking equipment. I did have one a few years ago where the excess flow valve wouldn't let any gas flow through and had to replace it.

by:

Products are good…BUT your system sucks! I chose etrailer because you had a better delivery time than Amazon
All products were in stock
When time of delivery arrives NO product, I called to find out that one item was back ordered and my scheduled delivery was 2WEEKS away! Had I known that your company takes it upon itself to only ship a full order and NOT notify customers on reasons, I WILL BECOME A PERMANENT AMAZON CUSTOMER !!!!!
CHANGE YOUR SYSTEM…. CUSTOMERS ARE FIRST, NOT YOUR BOTTOM DOLLAR !!!

by:

I've ordered a few of these and they come through everytime perfectly!

by:

just what i needed.

by:

Still in the testing/new use phase, but so far there are no issues with it and I am loving the ruggedness of the hose.

by:

Very pleased with these pigtails. Installed easily and are pretty flexible. These replaced standard pigtails without the stainless overbraid. The big question is how long they will last. Our past experience with pigtails is that the rubber in the hose will get very stiff within a year or two and often that will lead to small leaks at the connector crimps. Whether these will be an improvement only time will tell. Will probably buy these again when the time comes because we just plain like them. Just hoping for a longer service life.

After one year, still fine as far as I know. Because of the stainless steel overbraid you cant see the rubber hose inside to tell if there is any deterioration. Hoping these will last a couple more years.

by:

Excellent love the mesh cover

by:

I replaced the original rubber hoses on our 2013 Airstream. They had cracked and split. The new ones look good, appear durable and fit well. They were a direct bolt on in the Airstream. I ordered the 24 inch length to allow a loop in the hose between the tank and regulator.

Still solid, no issues. Recommended to several friends for their trailers to replace OEM rubber pig tails.

by:

Received my Sturgis Propane Pigtail last evening. Installed it this morning. Went right on. Looks good and appears to be much stronger than the original gas line that came with my travel trailer. Fast service and the right product the first time-ia-you can't beat that.

Still Going Strong a year later. Never an issue. I highly recommend it.

by:

Item was exactly what I needed (the squirrels ate the original rubber one). I did have to order an adapter to match the pipe thread of the regulator, but other then that, I am more than happy with the product and etrailer.com.

excellent, squirrels dont like taste of stainless

by:

Decent hose. Second one I’ve ordered. Only gave 4 stars because on one end, they didn’t get all of the braided stainless jacket in the crimp so I had to wrap it with black tape so I wouldn’t get poked installing it

by:

Great product

by:

I replaced the old, brittle and cracking black rubber pigtail on my propane Turkey Fryer about a year ago. I chose this MB Sturgis propane pigtail in stainless. Replacement was simple and fast. It has maintained its look and is functioning and weathering well. I've cooked a lot of turkeys and crab boils, and it looks and acts brand new!!!

by:

Fits, doesn't leak.

by:

Worked well

by:

etrailer said the pigtails I ordered were out of stock and they could not deliver both of them before my camping trip. They really surprised me by getting them earlier than expected and getting them to me on time. Excellent service!!

Although I have not installed the new pigtails, I am impressed with the quality and that they are made in America.

by:

Thank you etrailer.I received my lpg hoses from tank to camper. old ones showed cracks, thats when it will catch you off guard in the cold with no gas.Very quick shipping. Thanks

by:

Well, I got the wrong size (my fault) but I am keeping them for other uses.
They are well made and it it so nice to have an American made option for a fair price.
Shipping was fast and I have always had great luck with etrailer!
This is my 5th order now.
Great customer service and quality products have me locked in as a customer.

by:

I purchased these hose to replace the OEM hoses which were leaking at the crimp feral. These new hoses look more durable, and a perfect fit. The LED light bulbs are much brighter than the incandescent bulbs and use less wattage making the camper batteries last longer.

Great products.

by:

For the JR Products Automatic Changeover 2-Stage Propane Regulator # 37207-30395 you can use two of the MB Sturgis Propane Pigtail # 100833-24 for the supply inlets from the tanks. I'm assuming you are asking for a 20 inch hose, which the closest option we have at this time would be the combination of our pigtail hose, part # 100833-24, and adapter # 204120-MBS. If you don't mind using a typical rubber hose, you can use part # 37207-30865.

  • Recommended Longer Propane Pigtail for Cargo Area with Limited Clearance
Thank you for the picture! It looks like a longer pigtail hose is going to allow you to turn the cylinder enough to connect to your regulator, so I recommend using something like the MB Sturgis # 100833-24, which is 24" long. I've also linked our entire selection of pigtail hoses that have 1/4" male inverted flares and Type 1 connectors. Using a longer pigtail like this should allow you to connect your Camco Propane Cylinder Gas Gauge and Leak Detector # CAM59023 to the regulator and allow...
