Hello, neighbors, Steven here with etrailer.com. Today, we're looking at our B&B RV electric cable hatch. Now folks, this can handle up to a 50 amp wire and it has a nice thumb lock on it and it's a polar white color. So folks, this molded plastic hatch is gonna support your RV's power cords and other electrical cables up to a 50 amp size cord. So the nice open back here allows for a pass through and then you could access maybe the cord when it's open, it's gonna sit flush and everything whenever it's closed, that's gonna keep the rodents, insects, and bugs, and whatnot out of it. It has a nice plastic thumb lock, so you can turn that, lock it and simply turn it to open it.
Now, this guy, you can hear it popping. (hatch popping) That's just what it's doing for some reason, but it seems to open and close pretty good. Once you get past that pop mark, it holds it open. So that's probably what that's for. The hatch flange will secure to the exterior of the wall on the RV with the supplied hardware, including butyl tape and the six screws.
Now as you can see, these screw heads, they've painted white to match that polar white and the butyl tape here, just simple butyl tape, if you've never used it, it's basically a like putty like substance. It's sticky kinda. And then you put that all over the outside here of the flange and then you push it up to the hole that you cut out or that you're replacing on the RV or the camper. Then you put your screws through this side and then it's gonna push that butyl tape together and it's gonna give a nice tight, watertight seal around everything. (hatch popping) Now it does have a nice little pass-through door, like I mentioned.
You can fold this guy up and now you can just have the cable sticking out through. So very simple design, nice hard plastic material. It's not gonna fade. It's been UV stabilized, so it's not gonna turn yellow or discolor in the sun or any of that. It's also made to resist road salt, spray, that kind of stuff, the harsh elements of the weather.
It's been NSF, CSA and TEI certified. Now for some dimensions. So the cutout here, it's not too thick. It is 3/8 of an inch on the cutout. I know it's kinda hard to see there, but that cutout is 3/8 of an inch deep. It is four and a quarter wide this way, and four and three quarters this way. The actual overall dimensions, were right at six this way, and on the tallest side, we're about six and a half inches tall. Nice one year warranty, folks, it is made here in the U.S., a great product by B&B, again, for your electric cable hatch. I'm Steven, thanks so much for watching, folks, and have a great day.
