How to Properly Measure for Cut-Out Dimension
There are two main dimensions you need to know when choosing a replacement access door or adding a new one to your RV:
The cut-out diameter is the width of the circle needed to ensure the access door mounts flush to the wall of your RV.
The mounting depth is the depth needed behind the mounting surface for the access door's hatch to properly fit.

Michael: Hi there! I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a quick look at the Electrical Cable Hatch for RV's. This is going to keep your RV electrical cables protected and up, out of the way so you don't have to worry about any of the elements getting to them, causing any damage or any vermin or anything like that.It does have the snap lock feature so it's going to secure all of your cords while you're driving so you don't have to worry about them falling out when you hit a bump or anything like that. You can see, we got the built-in slot here that's going to allow you to run a cable out of the hatch, even when the door is closed. It will accept both 30 amp and 50 amp cords. It is UV and impact resistant so it's going to hold up very well.
It's also going to resist any road salts and acids and this is the polar white, polar white option. You can also get the black option using the part number you see on the screen there. Or, you can paint these to suit your exterior color scheme. Just make sure everything looks nice. So, totally up to you, whatever you want to do there. As far as our dimensions, our total outside width ...
we're looking at right about five and an eighth of an inch. Our cut out is going to be right at three and a half inches. That's a little bit, that's the directions recommendation just to give you a little bit of extra wiggle room on either side there. You can see our actual measurement is closer to three and a quarter of an inch. But they do like to give you just a little bit of room to work with.
And then our collar depth is right about two and three eighths of an inch.So overall, going to be a good addition to your RV, help you get everything tucked up, out of the way, still accessible when you need it. You can see on the back there, we do have a little bit of movement in our flanges that's going to make it easier to get our cords tucked in there, run it through from the back. So, overall, think it's going to be a good addition. Help you keep those electrical cords up and out of the way so they're nice and safe. That's going to complete our look at the Electrical Cable Hatch for your RV. Thanks for watching!.

Keep your RV electrical cables safe and out of the way. This durable polypropylene design replaces your old or damaged cable hatch. Housing fits into a 3-1/2" cutout, and the sliding door lets you run cable out while the door is shut. This provides a way to pass cables from the outside through the shell of the RV. A large circular drill bit makes the installation easier. I like that there is a sliding door to cover up as much of the hole as possible while the cable is coming through. Since this puts a rather large gap in the insulation, I added some back into the hole, putting it around the cable. I also put removable tape on the outside and inside to help keep insects out. The tabs that close the panel break off easily, and then the larger, hinged door no longer closes securely.
Quick delivery. This item allows cables to pass through the hull of the trailer. Relatively easy to install. I added a foam tube for insulation and to help keep insects out while in use. I had to order a second one because one of the tabs that seal the access port broke off when closing it.
This was an exact replacement on my 2015 Keystone Cougar. Now the plug won't drop on me anymore.
Well, I was happy with the company and service. Great people to deal with....but the product ( electrical cable hatch) was a bit disappointing. the listing is kinda mis-leading.... This says it will accommodate a 50 amp "CABLE"....but it "WILL NOT ACCOMADATE A 50 amp PLUG". I am using this to feed a 50 amp cable from my portable generator (outside garage) to my power box inside the garage during power outages. This hatch was to pass the cable through the door. I had to cut the end off the hatch so the plug would fit through. Also, the slider door for the cable access doesn't close all the way, allowing critters and such access to the garage... so I had to apply a piece of electrical tape to cover the opening on the bottom. Yes, it will work...but I really hate to make a new installation by cobbing it up, and saying...."Well, It Doesn't Look The Greatest....But "That's Good Enough to get me through.".
This is a good product for the cheapest price. The construction looks good and I like that the cup portion is fully round, making room for the plug to fit easily. It did not come with mounting screws, which is probably the price difference between this and the next more expensive one. Not an issue for my installation, but something to know. I am pleased with what I got for the price.

A year in and this is holding up well. I use it to pass extension cords outside from a race trailer, so its not the same level of use as an RV power cord, but I have not had any issues with it and an still very happy with the purchase.
Very sturdy product!

Awesome, it has worked as it should. Easy to install I use it every time we move the RV. Very happy with it.
They are great! I have also used them in my garage for a temporary generator cable and also as a pass through for Electric charging.
Worked excellent for our RV that had the screw out type that left a 5 inch hole wide open for all kinds of critters to crawl into our storage area's. They were a little smaller than the actual cable hatch but actually dropped right into the base of the existing hatch and we just screwed them into the lip and they worked perfect.
Exact fit and replacement!
It is great to find the parts to fix your rig in one stop shop! And all the parts that I have ordered have been the right fit.
Perfect for what I needed and shipping was quick.
Haven't used it yet. I got my order quick. Thanks
Part was exactly what I needed!
Easy to install and product was in great condition. Order came on time.

Hey I am sorry that this hatch was not quite a fit for your plug. It sounds like you were able to find a work around for it. We have it listed that the max cable amperage that it works with is 50 amps however not that it will necessarily fit with a 50 amp plug. The hatch opening ins 3.25 inches in diameter and you would want to measure to make sure the plug would fit. This is the biggest electric hatch door that we have however we do have a bigger multi purpose access door that has a 4 inch diameter opening with part # A10-2170BKVP.
