Specs:
This AC unit from Advent Air is designed to replace the old or broken Dometic air conditioner on your RV or camper. It plugs directly into your Dometic setup and works seamlessly with your existing, in-good-working-order Dometic air distribution box and thermostat. This eliminates the need of an adapter wiring kit, which saves you time and effort. The AC has a powerful fan and motor that provides a steady stream of air to efficiently cool the inside of your RV on a hot or muggy day. The included start capacitor will help jumpstart the AC. This beneficial upgrade provides the AC a boost when shore power or generator power isn't enough to start it. And everything you need in order to replace your AC unit is included, which makes installation simple and easy.
If your campsite or generator isn't able to draw the power you need, then you may have difficulty starting your AC unit. The included start capacitor, however, can eliminate this problem. The capacitor stores energy that will later be used to jumpstart the AC. Once the sufficient amount of power has been supplied to the AC, the compressor will start to run, and the internal relay switch will turn the start capacitor off. At the same time, the compressor will send "back voltage" to the relay switch and capacitor in order to energize them for the next startup.
Because your RV is likely already prepped and pre-wired for an AC unit, installation is simple and easy. Most AC units, including this one, are designed to fit an opening that measures 14-1/4" x 14-1/4". Depending on your roof setup, you may need to do minimal alterations. If the opening is larger than 14-3/8" x 14-3/8", you will need to install spacers between the sides of the unit and the opening's edges. If the opening is smaller than 14-1/8" x 14-1/8", you will need to enlarge the hole to fit the unit snugly inside the opening.
On the bottom of the AC, there's a thick, collapsible gasket with 6 noise-reducing foam pads. This provides support between the RV roof and AC and seals the opening to prevent water and outside air from leaking in. Because of this, the use of fresh sealant isn't required during installation.
To install the start capacitor, bolt it to the fan motor support with the included hardware and then route the wires to the run capacitor.
Once installed, the hard plastic cover on the AC can easily be removed for maintenance and cleaning.
2-Year limited warranty covers defective units when installed correctly on approved applications. The warranty does not cover units installed incorrectly. To ensure air conditioner is installed correctly, please see the questionnaire pdf below. A filled-out questionnaire is required for warranty coverage.
If you are not comfortable using a voltmeter (or removing the charge from the start capacitor), youll want to make a service appointment with your local RV dealer to verify the installation. Print the pdfs below (warranty- questionnaire, warranty dealer information) and take them along with the RV to your local dealer. ASA does compensate dealers for warranty work as outlined in the dealer information pdf. You may be charged by the dealer for time spent investigating the installation.

Unit arrived with a cracked cover as a result of ups. Etrailer promptly sent out a replacement cover. Install was a breeze and only took bout 20 minutes. 4 screws, 4 bolts, 1 plug, and reuse your thermistor. Simple. Unit is quieter, blows harder, and seems colder than my dometic ever was. One thing to note is advent is an inch or so taller and bout 3” shorter as it sits on the roof compared to stock unit. If you’re worried bout adding extra height go with the low profile. Also start capacitor install was very easy to install and works great.
Purchased this recently to replace an original Dometic 13,500 BTU AC. Arrived in good condition...no shipping damage. Installation went well by pre-training myself with etrailer.com's excellent videos and other online helps (especially for tips on getting it up on roof of RV trailer). This Advent AC started right up and checked out OK for all functions. Sound level is as good or better than old Dometic's. Appreciate how customer orientated etrailer.com is; and especially appreciate Rochelle's help over the phone to order the correct unit.
I didn't get it installed for almost a year after I got it because I did it myself and waited til my son could help me. It was an easy installation and the unit works great
I am very satisfied with it and your company
Not sure, it has worked good up until now. A year later. It is having problems. Probably wouldn’t buy again
Works great
Exactly what we needed. Good and pleasant service. Fast shipping
It has been a good unit. It is still kicking out cold air. It would be even better if it wasn't as noisy but I have yet to see any rv acts that are. The price was the main reason I went with this unit along with free shipping, couldn't be beat. Also the customer service was top notch. Thanks
Air conditioner unit cools rv great & quieter than original unit
Already losing its cooking ability, only used it four weekends , already failing on cooling.
In a three year period I'd replaced two Dometic HVAC units on my 2016 Forest River TT that I'd purchased new because they'd completely stopped producing cold air during the hottest months of each summer. I google searched for an exact replacement unit and came across Advent Air, it truly was an exact replacement and fit perfectly without any modifications, the price of the unit was appealing as well. It's been an year now and it has performed as well as an HVAC is expected to perform and is also running at half the noise level the Dometic was. I can actually hear my television now while it's running. Great product so far!!!
It was installed as a second unit with manual controls and heater upgrade. It has performed great, no complaints. Love having a cool trailer on just minutes.

Very satisfied with the quality and performance. I use a 2400 watt generator and the AC unit starts up with ease. I installed the hard start kit. The heat setting takes the chill off, when I have shore power. I’m glad I installed the heating kit.kp
Just had it put in and love it. Had the best experience with yall.i like how I was able to track my package. I will be sending other people your way. Ashley was great on the phone. Thanks alot
best price on ebay and super quick deli very
Working well so far - no issues. Just make sure the start capacitor wires aren't hitting the blower fan when you install. That was my mistake.
Works great. Had some issues with shipping. It was damaged but the folks at etrailer took care of my needs very quickly and made it right

If it's still blowing air but it's not as cold as it should be, it could be an issue as simple as the filter or coils need to be cleaned. I will attach a link to our help articles with troubleshooting for AC units. If its not the filter, it could be a bad compressor or capacitor.
