This Advent Air AC unit lets you replace an old or broken air conditioner on your RV or camper. It has a 6-pin connector for easy plug-and-play installation and it works with your existing Advent Air or Dometic air distribution box. The AC has a powerful fan and motor that provides a steady stream of air to efficiently cool the inside of your RV on a hot or muggy day. And everything you need in order to replace or add an AC unit is included, which makes installation easy.
Because your RV is likely already prepped and pre-wired for an AC unit, installation is simple. Most AC units are designed to fit an opening that measures 14-1/4" x 14-1/4". Depending on your roof setup, you may need to do minimal alterations. If the opening is larger than 14-3/8" x 14-3/8", you will need to install spacers between the sides of the unit and the opening's edges. If the opening is smaller than 14-1/8" x 14-1/8", you will need to enlarge the hole to fit the unit snugly inside the opening.
On the bottom of the AC, there's a thick, collapsible gasket with 6 noise-reducing foam pads. This provides support between the RV roof and AC and seals the opening to prevent water and outside air from leaking in. Because of this, the use of fresh sealant isn't needed. Once installed, the hard plastic cover on the AC can easily be removed for maintenance and cleaning.
And in order to fully complete installation, this AC needs to be paired with your existing Advent Air or Dometic air distribution box and thermostat.
Additional accessories can be purchased separately to improve the performance of your Advent Air AC unit. The start capacitor (ACMSCKIT) improves the performance of your AC by using stored energy to jumpstart it. And the electric heat strip (ACMHD) removes the chill on cold or frosty mornings in your RV, ensuring you stay comfortable. Please note that the heat strip will only work on Advent Air AC units.
2-Year limited warranty covers defective units when installed correctly on approved applications. The warranty does not cover units installed incorrectly. To ensure air conditioner is installed correctly, please see the questionnaire pdf below. A filled-out questionnaire is required for warranty coverage.
If you are not comfortable using a voltmeter (or removing the charge from the start capacitor), you'll want to make a service appointment with your local RV dealer to verify the installation. Print the pdfs below (warranty- questionnaire, warranty dealer information) and take them along with the RV to your local dealer. ASA does compensate dealers for warranty work as outlined in the dealer information pdf. You may be charged by the dealer for time spent investigating the installation.

If your RV's air conditioner isn't keeping up with the summer heat, upgrade it with this low-profile unit from Advent Air. Condensation dispersion system increases efficiency. Compatible with most RV ACs with a 6-pin connector. It literally took a half hour to install. I’m so happy that I did it myself and I would recommend it to anybody. Today is July 5 and it’s 106 outside here in AZ and I’m inside my trailer, nice and cool, excellent product.
In short, it was a simple drop in replacement for my Dometic Brisk II unit. The Dometic thermostat operates this unit without issue on low and high speeds. The toughest part was getting the old unit down and the new unit up on the roof. Hopefully this one will outlast the previous two Dometic units that both had major freon leaks within two years. Warranty did cover the cost for the replacement unit. I do like the low profile and smaller size of this unit It performs equally as well as the Dometic unit it replaced. The sales staff were helpful providing detailed information not to mention all the available specs, diagrams, videos, etc. on the website. This long time electronics tech has been impressed. These days that doesn't happen very often! 50
Upon what should have been a simple routine installation, three of the four mounting bolts which screw into chintzy riveted-on threads became difficult to screw in, which snapped the riveted thread from the unit, rendering it virtually uninstallable. Insult to injury was learning that e trailer does not stand behind this unit and punted to the manufacturer "warranty" which is a complicated process that involves removing the unit (need to cut the bolts on my case which would be very difficult without damaging the unit) and bringing the 100 lb air conditioner to an in-network dealer (while of course leaving your RV unusable with a hole in the roof) and waiting for them to fix it. Not sure who has time for that but it isn't me.
Bought this to replace an older (2007) Coleman 8000 on our pop-up. Had a bit of a time installing this. Please, READ THE INSTRUCTIONS and LOOK AT THE PICTURES. I had the upper duct that mounts to the roof unit installed 180 degrees off.
The converter kit that you buy with this if you're replacing a Coleman, didn't fit my Coleman panel. It's made for newer units. After talking to etrailer and the manufacturer I found I had to purchase a new control panel for inside. Another $85.
Overall it wasn't a bad job once I figured out the upper duct and the control panel issues. Unit cools well. About the same noise level as the old Coleman. It is not as thick top to bottom as the Coleman was. Think it's a little lighter after picking up both! Real test of how it works will be the trip we're taking next month.
Etrailer came for the win. After trying to order from Amazon and having my order cancelled I went to etrailer. I got a better RV AC unit for $50 less and shipped the next day.
Etrailer now has all my RV business.
Direct replacement for my failed Dometic A/C. Used my original air box and controls, easy installation. Works well in Florida heat. Quieter than the original at half the price. Sales staff was excellent, shipping was fast and free.
Affordable, good quality, easy install! This was a plug and play replacement for my old dometic. I saved so much money.
Almost wanted to give it 5 stars only thing so far I dislike was the discharge opening was off to one side and my stock unit was in the middle. With summer coming on we will put it to the test.it is nice a quiet outside.
Super fast shipment and relatively easy install thanks to Youtube University! There’s a few really good videos on there that make doing the install a breeze.
The videos helped a bunch. Received the unit and had it installed in less than an hour. Works great.
Quiet and moves quite a bit of air. Love it so far.
Great customer service and fast deliver y.
Best price and very honest. Shipped half way across the US in three days. Awesome.
Absolutely amazing. Couldn’t BELIEVE how easy it was to swap out!! Took me maybe 30 mins and it was going.
