Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look together at this Dometic Black 15,000 BTU Penguin-II high capacity RV air conditioner. Now, this air conditioner unit is going to let you replace, upgrade, or add a new Dometic Penguin-II air conditioner to your RV or camper. The ultra low profile design is going to minimize wind resistance and help improve fuel efficiency and overhead clearance. As I mentioned, this is a 15,000 BTU per hour air conditioner, so this is going to quickly and efficiently cool the inside of your RV or camper. This is going to be compatible with ducted or ductless systems, and this is designed for motor homes, travel trailers, and fifth wheels.
However, I want you to be aware of the fact that this air conditioner has not been approved for use on school buses, food trucks, enclosed utility trailers, or off-roading vehicles. Just so you're aware of that. This is going to be a bolt-on installation. However, this does not include mounting hardware and the manual air distribution box is also required, but it is not included with this. You can find that manual air distribution box option here on this product page under the related products parts.
Now, this is going to fit roofs from 1.5 inches to six inches thick with an opening size of 14 1/4 inches by 14 1/4 inches. And just some overall measurements to kind of give you an idea of the size, the overall length from end to end, we're sitting at about 40.5 inches long. The overall width from, again, from end to end, about 29 inches wide, and then the overall height about 11.5 inches tall. Overall, this unit weighs about 80 pounds. And let me go ahead and remove the lid here for you.
I went ahead and removed the screws, just to make that a little bit quicker and easier, but I just wanna remove the lid and give you a view of the inside. So let me set this aside carefully here. And then let me just go ahead and rotate this and give you a view of the inside of this from that angle. And then I wanna go ahead and give you an overhead view as well, just so you have a good view of what this looks like without the cover. And you can get a view of the insides here.
Now, this air conditioner does feature a high performance motor and fan that will provide sufficient air flow at 500 cubic feet per minute. The enhanced cooling performance is going to evenly distribute cool air throughout your RV to help eliminate hotspots. And the quiet operation is going to ensure a more peaceful atmosphere than traditional air conditioner units. The efficient design requires less refrigerant than traditional air conditioner units, and it's gonna help reduce operational costs. And this does use the refrigerant R-410A. So I'm gonna go ahead and replace my cover here. So this cover of course, is black. This includes the black cover and it's a hard plastic cover, so it's gonna do a great job of protecting the inside from debris and and water and things like that, but it's going to be very easy to remove. You're just going to remove the included screws here, give you a view of those real quick. So you're gonna get four of those screws. Just use a Phillips head screwdriver, remove them, and then you'll be able to quickly remove this cover for maintenance, do some cleaning and things like that. Now, this does feature a rib base pan that's going to provide stability and reduce vibration. And as you can see here, this does include the wiring harness. And the foam seals are gonna prevent heat transfer. And this has been UL-certified as well. But I think that's going to wrap up our quick look today. I do hope that our time together was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
