Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look at this Dometic White Penguin II, 15,000 BTU Single-Zone High-Capacity RV Air Conditioner. Now, this air conditioner unit is going to let you replace, upgrade, or add a new Dometic Penguin II air conditioner to your RV or camper. This ultra low-profile design is going to help minimize wind resistance to improve fuel efficiency and overhead clearance. This 15,000 BTU per hour air conditioner will quickly and efficiently cool the inside of your RV or camper. This is going to be compatible with ducted or ductless systems.
Now, a CT single-zone thermostat and air distribution box, those items are sold separately, but they are going to be required for this to work with your setup. So you need to be sure that you have both that air distribution box and CT single-zone thermostat. And this is designed for motorhomes, and travel trailers, and fifth wheels. But this is not going to be compatible with school buses, food trucks, enclosed utility trailers, or off-roading vehicles because the roofs of those types of trailers are typically not built with enough support to handle the weight of an air conditioner system. Or there's too much flex in the roof where it could potentially damage the air conditioner system as you travel.
This is gonna be a bolt-on installation. I do wanna make you aware of the fact that hardware is not included to install this. This is going to fit roofs from 1 1/2 inches to six inches thick, with an opening size of 14 1/4 inches long by 14 1/4 inches wide. And this the overall measurements measuring end to end. This is gonna be about 40 1/2 inches long.
And then the overall width, again from end to end, we're sitting at about 27 5/8 inches wide. And then the overall height, about 13 15/16 inches tall. And this unit, by itself, weighs about 100 pounds, just to kind of give you an idea of how heavy this is. And I went ahead and removed the screws that secure this lid on this unit so I could more quickly and easily remove the cover. So let me go ahead and remove this cover and give you a view of the inside.
So I'm gonna set this carefully off to the side here, and I just kind of want to go around again to show you what the inside. I'm gonna go for a lower angle here. Maybe you'll get a better view and just give this once over here so you can see the inside. Now, this air conditioner does feature a high-performance motor and fan. And so this is going to give you sufficient air flow, and then let me give you an overhead view as well. Make sure I got that lined up there so you got a clear view. The enhanced cooling performance is going to evenly distribute cool air throughout your RV to eliminate hotspots. The quiet operation is going to ensure a more peaceful atmosphere than your traditional air conditioner units. And this efficient design is going to reduce or require, rather, less refrigerant than your traditional air conditioner unit. That's gonna help reduce operational costs. By the way, the refrigerant that's being used in this unit is R-410A, and these foam seals that you see here are gonna prevent heat transfer. And this cover is a hard plastic cover. I'm gonna go ahead and put this back on, but just to. (cover thudding) It's a hard plastic cover, so I think it's gonna do a pretty good job of protecting the inside of this unit. It's gonna protect it from debris, and water, and things like that. I think it's gonna hold up pretty well to the elements that it's going to be constantly exposed to. And as you can see, it's easy to remove. Let me go ahead and go back to my lower angle here. I wanted to show you that all you're gonna have to do if you ever need to remove that cover is remove four Phillips-head screws. And once you have those removed, as you can see, this cover slot will just pop right off and then you can do any cleaning or maintenance that you wanna do. And then when you're done, put the cover back on, replace the screws, tighten down, and you will be good to go. Now, we do also offer this in black. So if you prefer a black-covered unit, you can find that option here at etrailer.com. This does feature a ribbed base pan that's going to give you stability and reduce vibration. There's also foam pads underneath. And I'd like to give you a view of the included wiring harness, make sure I've got all the wires pulled through here. So this is going to be the wiring harness, and then you're gonna get some additional. You're gonna get a pigtail here and some additional hardware as well, as you can see here. So that's going to all be included with this unit. It is UL-certified. And I think that's gonna wrap up our look today. I do hope that our time together was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy, thank you for joining me.
