Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look at this Dometic Penguin II 15,000 BTU, high capacity multi-zone black RV air conditioner. Now this air conditioning unit is going to let you replace, upgrade, or add a new Dometic Penguin II air conditioner to your RV or camper. This ultra low profile is going to help minimize wind resistance to improve fuel efficiency and overhead clearance. This 15,000 BTU per hour air conditioner is going to quickly and efficiently cool the inside of your RV or camper. This is going to be compatible with ducted or ductless systems.
A CCCII thermostat and air distribution box are required for operation of this air conditioner on your particular application. But those items are sold separately so you would have to pick them up in addition to this air conditioner. Now this is designed for motor homes, travel trailers, and fifth wheels. However, I do wanna make you aware of the fact that this has not been approved for use on food trucks, school buses, enclosed utility trailers, or off-roading vehicles because the roofs on those types of trailers and vehicles are typically not built with enough support to handle the weight of an air conditioner system where there's too much flex in the roof that could damage the air conditioner system itself as you go down the road, so just be aware of that. This is going to be a bolt-on installation.
However, the hardware to install this is not included with this air conditioner. This is going to fit roofs from one and a half inches to six inches thick with an opening size of 14 and a quarter inches long by 14 and a quarter inches wide. And just to go over some basic dimensions here of this unit for you, the overall length from end to end is about 40 and a half inches long. The overall width, again from end to end is about II9 inches wide. The overall height, about 11 and a quarter inches tall and this weighs about 100 pounds.
Now let me go ahead and remove this cover. I went ahead and removed the screws before our time together just to make taking this cover off a little bit quicker and easier. So I'm gonna go ahead and just pop this off to give you a good view of the inside of this unit. So let me place this down on the floor here real quick and let me go to a lower angle and maybe you can see the inside here just a little bit better. Let me give this a little bit of a rotation so you can see.
So this air conditioner features a high performance motor and fan that's going to provide sufficient air flow. And then I want give you an overhead view as well. Let me line that up there in frame for you. The enhanced cooling performance is going to evenly distribute cool air throughout your RV to eliminate hotspots and quiet operation is going to ensure a more peaceful atmosphere than most traditional air conditioner units. So this efficient design is going to require less refrigerant than traditional air conditioner units. That's gonna help reduce operational costs. And by the way, this uses the R-410 A refrigerant and the foam seals here are going to prevent heat transfer. And then let me go ahead and stay at that view. I'm gonna go ahead and replace my cover here real quick and see if you can still get a good view of the top of this unit. So I'm just gonna place this back on top. And so yeah, it looks like you got a good view of what this is going to look like overhead when the lid is on. And then I'm gonna go back to my lower angle here. This cover is hard plastic so I think it's gonna hold up really well for you. It's gonna do a great job of protecting the internal components from water and debris. And as you saw, it's gonna be very easy to remove and replace. It is secured to the base of the unit with these four Phillips head screws. So all you gotta do is remove these screws, pop that off, do some cleaning, do some maintenance, and then you saw how easy it was to place the cover back on, replace the screws, and you're in business. This does feature a ribbed base pan that's going to give you stability and reduced vibration. And then this does include a wiring harness and it's tucked up in here. So lemme see if I can pull that out there for you real quick and just give you a view of that harness and make sure I got everything for you to see. So lemme try to give you a good view there of that harness. We got quite a few connections here as you can see. And so the instructions will guide you through installing this and let me just make sure that I have all of that. It looks like I do, so got quite a few connections here. And like I said, the instructions will guide you through that installation process. So when you get this air conditioner unit, you will find it tucked up underneath the base there, just so you know. Now we do also offer this air conditioner with a white cover. Everything else is the same. And if you would prefer the white cover, you can find that option here at etrailer.com and this is UL certified. Well, I think that's gonna wrap up our look today. I do hope that our time together was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy, thank you for joining me.
