Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look together at this Dometic 15,000 BTU Penguin II High Capacity RV air conditioner with a white cover. Now, this air conditioner unit is going to let you replace, upgrade, or add a new Dometic Penguin II air conditioner to your RV or camper. And this ultra low profile design is going to minimize wind resistance and also help improve fuel efficiency. And this is also going to provide you additional overhead clearance. Now, this 15,000 BTU per hour air conditioner will quickly and efficiently cool the inside of your RV or camper.
This is going to be compatible with ducted or ductless systems and this is designed for motorhomes, travel trailers and fifth wheels. But I do wanna make you aware of the fact that this is not approved for school buses, food trucks, enclosed utility trailers, or off-road vehicles, just so you're aware of that. Now, this is a bolt-on installation, however the hardware is not included, and the CCC-2 thermostat and air distribution box are also sold separately. But you can find that thermostat a little bit lower on this product page under the related product section, and find that thermostat that's going to be compatible with this. Now, this is going to fit roofs from 1.5 inches to six inches thick with an opening size of 14 1/4 inches long and 14 1/4 inches wide.
And let me go ahead and give you just some overall measurements and let me go ahead and straighten this back up here on my table before I do that here. So looking at the overall length from end to end, we're sitting right at about 40.5 inches long. The overall width is gonna be about 29 inches wide. And then the overall height, about 11 1/4 inches tall. This is a heavier machine.
This weighs just under 100 pounds. So I needed to be sure that I had help to make sure I get this on the table without any problems. And I went ahead and removed the screws of this cover so I could give you an overhead view. So lemme go ahead and take the cover off here first, just so you can see from that angle, get a view of the inside. So I'm gonna set this cover off to the side here.
And so let me give you an overhead view and hopefully you got a good shot of that there. Now, this is going to feature a high performance motor and fan that's going to give you sufficient airflow, the enhanced cooling performance is going to evenly distribute cool air throughout your RV to eliminate hotspots, and the quiet operation is going to ensure a more peaceful atmosphere than some traditional air conditioner units. The efficient design is going to require less refrigerant than traditional AC units, and that's gonna help reduce operational costs. This does use the R-410A refrigerant. And then this cover, I'm gonna go ahead and place this back on and I'll keep it on the overhead view just so you can see what this is going to look like overhead with the cover on, hopefully the white color won't blow out the picture too bad there. But this cover is, (plastic thuds) it's a hard plastic cover. It feels pretty durable, (plastic thuds) so I think it's gonna do a great job of protecting the internal components from water and debris. And once you remove those Phillips head screws and there's four of them, that you're gonna be able to easily remove this cover to clean the air conditioner, to do any maintenance or anything like that. So very easy to remove and replace this cover and fits right into place. Now, this does feature a ribbed base pan that's going to give you stability. It's gonna reduce vibration with the thick foam pads and those might be a little bit difficult for you to see. Here's one of the pads right here. So those thick foam support pads are going to give you support and also help reduce vibration. It's also going to seal to prevent heat transfer and air leaks. This does include the wiring harness. And so let me swing this into view here. So just wanted to give you a good view here of the wiring harness that is included with this. This is UL-certified. And I think that's gonna wrap up our real quick look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
