Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look together at this Dometic white 15,000 BTU Penguin II high-capacity RV air conditioner. Now, this air conditioner unit is going to let you replace, upgrade, or add a new Dometic Penguin II air conditioner to your RV or camper. And this ultra low profile design is going to minimize wind resistance to help improve fuel efficiency and overhead clearance. And this 15,000 BTU per hour air conditioner is going to quickly and efficiently cool the inside of your RV or camper. And this is designed for motor homes and fifth wheels and travel trailers.
But I do wanna make you aware of the fact that this has not been approved for use on school buses, food trucks, enclosed utility trailers, or off-roading vehicles. Just so you're aware of that. This is going to be a bolt-on installation. However, the hardware is not included. And a manual air distribution box is required for this.
That is sold separately, but you can find it under the related products section on this product page. Now, this is going to fit roofs from 1-1/2 inches to 6 inches thick with an opening size of 14-1/4 inches long by 14-1/4 inches wide. While we're talking measurements, let me give you measurements of this unit just so you have a good idea of the size. So looking at the overall length from end to end, we're sitting at about 40-1/2 inches long. And then the overall width, again from end to end, about 29 inches wide.
The overall height about 11-1/2 inches tall. This unit weighs about 80 pounds. And I went ahead and removed the screws from our cover here just so I could quickly remove it and show you the inside. So let me go ahead and pop this white cover off here. I'm gonna set it to the side carefully here.
And I just wanted to give you a view of the inside from a few different angles. So let me go ahead and give you a closeup look here first. So I just wanna kinda give you a view from that particular angle there so you can see what's going on here on the inside and then give you a view of the rear there. And then let me give you an overhead look and maybe you have a better view overhead. Let me line this up there for you so you can see. So this air conditioner features a high efficiency, a high performance rather motor and a fan that's going to give you sufficient airflow at 500 cubic feet per minute. The enhanced cooling performance is going to evenly distribute the cool air throughout your RV to eliminate hotspots. And the quiet operation is going to ensure a more peaceful atmosphere than most traditional air conditioner units. The efficient design requires less refrigerant than traditional air conditioning units. That's gonna help reduce operational costs. And this uses the refrigerant R-410A. So let me go ahead and go back to my closer view there. I'm gonna go ahead and replace my cover. I'm just gonna go ahead and rotate this back around. So hopefully, you got a good view there. This cover is a hard plastic cover, so I think it's going to do a great job of protecting the internal components from water and debris. I think it's gonna hold up pretty well for you. And like I said, it's hard plastic, so pretty durable. And as you saw, if you ever need to remove this cover, it's going to be very easy to do so. It's held in place or secured in place with these four Phillips head screws. So just get a Phillips head screwdriver, remove those four screws and then you can remove this to do any maintenance or cleaning that you desire to do. The base pan is a ribbed base pan and this is going to give you stability and help reduce vibration. There are pads, foam pads underneath. The foam seals are gonna help prevent heat transfers. And I wanted to show you this. We do have a wiring harness there, so this right there in the front of the unit. And this is UL certified. And we do also have this in a black option as well. It's going to be the exact same air conditioner unit just with a black cover rather than a white cover. Well, I think that's going to wrap up our real quick look today. I do hope that our time together was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
