Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look at this Dometic Penguin II 15,000 BTU high-capacity white RV air conditioner with heat pump. Now, this air conditioner unit is going to let you replace, upgrade, or add a new Dometic Penguin II air conditioner to your RV or camper. This ultra low-profile design is going to minimize wind resistance to improve fuel efficiency and overhead clearance. This 15,000 BTU per hour air conditioner will quickly and efficiently cool the inside of your RV or camper.

And this is going to be compatible with ducted and ductless systems. I do wanna point out that a manual air distribution box is required for operation of this unit with your particular application. However, that manual air distribution box is sold separately. This is designed for motorhomes, travel trailers, and fifth wheels. But I do wanna make a special note that this has not been approved for use on school buses, food trucks, enclosed utility trailers, or off-roading vehicles because typically the roofs are not built with the support needed to handle the weight of an air conditioner system or there might be too much flex in that roof that could potentially damage the air conditioner unit while you're going down the road.

This is a bolt-on installation, however, the hardware is not included with this unit. And this is going to fit roofs from 1 1/2-inches to six-inches thick with an opening size of 14 1/4-inches long by 14 1/4-inches wide. And just to give you an idea of the size of this unit, measuring the overall length from end to end, we're sitting at about 40 1/2-inches long, and looking at the width, again, from end to end, about 29-inches wide, and then the height, about 11 1/4-inches tall. And this weighs a little under 100 pounds. Now, I went ahead and removed the screws that secure this cover to this unit so I can more easily and quickly remove the cover.

So, let me go ahead and do that, and I wanna give you a view of the inside of the unit. So, let me set this cover down and I'm gonna go in for a lower angle first. Maybe you can get a better view there. And let me give this another rotation just so you have a good look in there. And this air conditioner does feature a high-performance motor and fan that's going to give you sufficient airflow.

And while I turn this around here, let me go ahead and give you an overhead view as well and line that up into frame. The enhanced cooling performance is going to evenly distribute cool air throughout your RV to eliminate hotspots. The internal heat pump is going to be great for cooler weather, sending warm air into your RV and pumping the chilled air to the outside. So, that internal heat pump is included with this. The quiet operation is going to ensure a more peaceful atmosphere than most traditional air conditioner units. The efficient design is going to require less refrigerant than traditional air conditioner units. That's gonna help reduce operational costs. This does use the R410A refrigerant. And then the foam seals are going to prevent heat transfer. And then going back to my lower angle view there, I'm gonna replace our cover, but I did wanna point out that this is a hard plastic cover. So, I think it's gonna do a great job of protecting the internal components from debris and water and things like that. I think it's going to do a great job of resisting the elements that it's going to be constantly exposed to. And as you can see, this cover is very easy to remove and replace. I'm just fitting it back over the base here. And the only thing you're gonna have to do to remove this cover is loosen and remove four Phillips head screws and then you can pop that cover off and do any maintenance or cleaning that you want. And then once you're done, you just pop the cover back on as you saw me do here, replace those screws, tighten them down, and you will be good to go. Now, this does feature a ribbed base pan. That's gonna provide stability and reduce vibration. There are foam pads underneath the pan. And I wanted to give you a view of the wiring harness that's included there. Now, we do also provide this same air conditioner with a black cover instead of a white one. Everything else about the unit is going to be the same.
