The cover was busted up pretty bad. I installed the unit anyway and etrailer was out of replacement covers but offered to send a whole new unit. Once installed the unit had so much vibration in it and was so loud it made the whole rv shake. I returned it with minimum issues. Make sure you keep your box. It cost me 35 dollars for a box. I will say if the unit hadn't had the vibration issue I would have kept it. The air it supplied was hard and very cold. It blew much faster and colder than the 15000 btu advent that replaced it.1397652

The pro - works very good at cooling. Integrates with the heater so there is only one controller. Very quiet compared to my last A/C. We got the model that has the LED lights and they are kinda fun. We use the red as a night light.
The con - the temp sensor is located in the main unit, not the thermostat controller, which can lead to wide temperature swings, so we tend to leave the fan on to mitigate this. In our small (20' TT) this can also lead to short cycling when it is very hot outside. If you don't have the main unit fan on while the heater is running, it can get very hot inside as the heat doesn't make it to the sensor.
Possible con - the unit inside sticks out much more than the unit that it replaced (around and inch) which interferred with a cabinet door. We had to trim the door to make it work.1259100

I received the replacement covers and they are intact. The units themselves work fine and they made it from California to Texas and back with the original broken covers and some duct tape. I probably would have given a five star rating (the customer service itself was great) but I still have to get up on top of the RV to remove and replace the covers, a definite hassle. Furrion and etrailer would be well served if the original unit packaging was improved.1340517

This was a replacement for our initial purchase. The first one short cycled and didn’t cool. We purchased in late October. It was too cold out to really test. Well February/ March was warm and still wasn’t working correctly so I paid a technician to look at it. He said the amperage was low due to low refrigerant. Furrions customer service was impossible to reach but after talking to Shawnee at etrailer she totally understood our situation and helped us warranty it through etrailer!!! The new unit blows 40 degrees out of the vents and doesn’t short cycle. I’m giving this 5 stars because of etrailer and Shawnee!!! She’s super knowledgeable. Thank You again for all of your help1283288

We installed two units on our Bluebird Wanderlodge just before we traveled south for our annual road trip last summer. Both units performed flawlessly during our two months journey. Blown super cold air even during very hot and humid Florida's afternoons, not as noisy and the original units. We were able to run both units while driving on the gen set without any issues. Very happy with the purchase, highly recommended.1274075

I ordered a Furrion Chill AC unit to replace the original Coleman Mach. It has more BTU's than the original, and was considerable less expensive. I received the unit in one day, fastest shipping I've ever seen. We immediately placed it on our RV, plugged it in and immdeiately started cooling.. Needless to say, we are extremely happy with this unit. The manufacturer could probably use an upgrade in their packaging. Some of the plastic connectors on the cover were broke in shipping, but etrailer is quickly taking care of that. They have just made us a returning customer.1063352

These units are so quiet and efficient. This was such an improvement in cooling from my older units. I was shocked how easy it was to install these units. Two of us completed the switch in an hour.1296087

Didn’t realize it didn’t come with a controller for the wiring so you have to buy 2 extras to get it to work. 3 if you want thermostat with lighting control1058540

I have linked the installation instructions below for you. This will help walk you through installation and connecting the unit to your thermostat. This unit does not include mounting hardware from the manufacturer. If your exiting hardware is in good shape, you could re-use that hardware for installation.
Ac is awesome. We bought this one as a replacement for a dometic and wow what a difference it makes. Its quieter and blows more air. Top cover was broken when we received it but one call and was sent a new cover.1016605

It works well for a while but then freezes up. What can I do to fix that?1175708
Comments
This may be due to the freeze censor not being installed correctly to the cooling fins. The freeze censor detects when the unit starts to freeze and the censor tells the unit to switch it to the fan to keep the lines from freezing. Remove the inner shroud/plenum on the ceiling and look for a small rod with a wire in the end. Sometimes there will be a small blue plastic holder, which gets pushed onto the fins and the rod slides into it. If you did install the censor make sure it has not fallen out. Freezing up is also common issue for air conditioners if they have a leak, need recharged, or have a problem with either the thermostat or compressor. I recommend contacting the manufacturer since it has a 2-year warranty or you can take it in for service at a dealer you trust.

Review from a similar Chill AC Unit in RV Air Conditioners
etrailer is the Chik-A-fila of customer service for online purchases. I cannot say enough about their service and friendliness. The Furrion 15,500 BTU AC works like a dream!! Cools my 38' 5th wheel very well in 80° It is impressively quiet and with the 3 fan modes, you can sleep like a baby. I installed it myself converting it from an old Dometic Duo Therm. I had to replace the air distribution box and thermostat. The only reason it got four stars is because the cover came busted and a junction box had come loose and wedged into the fan blades. The cover was cracked and held on by only 3 screws since the rest of the tabs were broken. It is made in China so I'm sure it's not etrailer's fault. And the junction box ( provided picture of the unit) in the main roof unit came loose from it's four screws and wedged itself against the fan blade. It kept the blade from spinning and the sound coming from the unit sounded like a giant refrigerator the size of a tractor trail parked right out side the RV. Extremely loud!! After climbing up there and removing the cover I noticed and fixed the issue. Fortunalty it didn't damage my unit. etrailer did send me a new cover at no cost as soon as they had it back in stock. All in all, I would def recommend, just watch out for loose or broken parts. And notify etrailer as soon as possible. They will go the extra mile to help you fix any issues.1209071

Review from a similar Chill AC Unit in RV Air Conditioners
This ac unit poor performance and lack of support from the manufacturer have us wishing we had never purchased it. It arrived with a damaged top cover which etrailer replaced months later. The shipping box also showed evidence of very rough handling and upon opening, lack of shipping protection. That was just the start of our problems. The unit was installed and although it does somewhat, it short cycles and makes a terrible loud vibration. It has never been able to cool below 72. We contacted Furrion and they were less than helpful. They emailed me with instructions and what to look for and do to fix their brand new unit. We looked for the obvious things but honestly, why should I have to fix anything that is brand new and guaranteed? It is not my job. I bought and paid for a fully functional AC unit based upon their advertising and it horrible. I am going to try and talk to a human being about getting this unit replaced. Hopefully with their purchase by Lippert, a great company, BTW, we will get this thing rectified. Camping season is here and it is hot here in the south east. We need our AC to work like our existing Coleman Mach 15 does. We also feel that because the vibration is so strong and loud, that the actual chassis of the ac unit is somehow out of alignment and contributing to the issues. The solution is to replace it with a new one and for Furrion to also pay for the ac installer who was paid the first time to install it.1287310

Review from a similar Chill AC Unit in RV Air Conditioners
Very fast shipping. Tracking feature worked great. My forest river EVO is only about 2 years old. The dometic unit did not work well from day one. Tye compressor locked up on it. Im a cornwell tool dealer. The coach places i go to said Furion was the way to go. I installed myself. Was easy. About 30 minutes. The capacitor box was not bolted down. And i did not want it flopping around. So i removed the top and bolted it down. The unit works perfect. Blows the old unit away. 106 in az and it leveled out at 58 out the vent. Im so happy to finally have a good unit on my trailer. I will be usei g e trailer from now on. And Furion is the way to go!1090601
Review from a similar Chill AC Unit in RV Air Conditioners
I received this unit damaged. The box is not strong enough for the weight and size of the unit as others have indicated in other reviews. It also is not marked fragile or to keep one side up which would help prevent damage. I figured it was worth the risk due to high customer service reviews. After I shared photos of the damage, I assumed etrailer was sending me a replacement unit. Instead, they sent me a replacement part to repair it myself. I did attempt to do this but found internal damage in the process. etrailer has been attentive to this point, but now it’s getting to be a bit of a process. Hopefully, we come to a quick resolution! I would love to update with a nice resolution, and maybe etrailer will beef up the packaging for others in the future so this does not happen anymore!1253250

Review from a similar Chill AC Unit in RV Air Conditioners
It was a great swap for a Coleman Mach series. Its colder and quieter. The wiring was plug n play. On my setup, I did NOT need the Furrion thermostat. My Coleman works fine. As for the 3 stars, be very careful when handling this unit. The plastic shell is thin. Im affraid a small limb would easliy break it. This thin shell is critical in the unit performace. If its warped, even a litle bit, the styrofoam housing will stop the motors from turning and cause an over amp or noise issue. You will need to remove the Coleman control box from inside the old unit and transfer it to the new Furrion. Unfortunatly, the Furrion doesnt have a provision to mount this box...so good luck. I just built a small cradle for it to sit in.
I personally think the Coleman is built more robust.1307015

Amazing air conditioner and easy install. The fasteners that hold the case together could be designed a bit better, but otherwise very happy1087035

Decent. External case is still annoyingly flimsy. Cools as well as the coleman i had previously. Mine doesn’t typically freeze up but i did have issue with significant amounts of moisture dripping into cabin from the AC. I installed a few more drain holes and ran some flex hose to drain away from unit. 3 weeks later and those mods seem to be working. Id keep my rating and say that at least it hasnt died like the coleman.

Dropped my temp a good 10 Degrees in my trailer. Very quiet and efficient. Much better than the Coleman I replaced!1126292

I still like it very much. I’m not sure about the fan always running 247 which has to be contributing to my high summer energy bills. In addition, the thermostat should be larger and easier to read and at least light up in the dark to be able to better adjust at night. But the cooling power is outstanding.

I returned the unit when I discovered it would not mount on the roof of my Phaeton motorhome, despite assurances of the company at the time of ordering that it was appropriate for my application. Only after I complained did the company agree that it would not fit and allowed me to return it.1327982

Regarding your Furrion FACW12SA-BL (DISCONTINUED) wall thermostat, this is a common observation, as the temperature sensor is in the ceiling with the air distribution box. When using the air conditioner, leave the fan on at least low to keep your interior air being drawn into the box and being measured by the temperature sensor in there. This will help the thermostat to display the true temperature, and to cycle the compressor on and off as needed more accurately. view full answer...
