Arrived on time! I purchased as a new second unit from etrailer because the unit came with a soft startup and all the required components. I was going to purchase from Camping World because the price was cheaper, but after digging deeper, Camping World delivered everything separately and didn't come with soft start up. So, etrailer's price ending up being about the same. Installation was easy. Screws were missing from the thermostat to install on the wall and screws were missing from the control unit to attach it to the distribution box. Make sure when installing the 4 screws to secure the unit that they are torqued to 50lbs. Haven't put it to the test yet, but it blows some cold air!!!

Desiring to improve the ability to cool the rig by adding a second AC installed using the bedroom vent opening configured as a stand-alone zone we choose the Furrion Chill HE kit. A secondary goal is to have an AC unit that can be utilized during BLM camping with our small inverter-generator to cool the bedroom. The FR85PV kit enables both goals and it is easy to install. I bench-tested the unit prior to mounting the AC unit on the rig. The Chill provides output air at 48.6 degrees F while drawing 9.1 amps in the run state. Inrush current was 44.5 amps. I had concern for the thermostat placement to prevent AC output air fooling the thermostat in a small room. I learned that the thermostat is a control point and not a temperature sensing point. The temperature displayed on the thermostat is acquired by a sensor in the return air duct opening.

I suggest two points of emphasis while installing the kit. First, take your time installing the two-piece divider that separates the cold air out chamber from the return air chamber. Ensure you have a good seal between the two chambers. Second emphasis involves the room temperature sensor in the air return chamber. The sensor is a short lead wire – I bent my lead in an L shape and pointed the sensor upwards into the room air return duct and away from the unit’s wire bundle to achieve the best sensing location.

I had Cornerstone Rv Repair located in Porter TX come out and install this for me. They were impressed with it and complimented it's ease of installation. Will need to see how it holds up against summer sun and heat here in southeast Texas. Looks very good on top of my trailer.

by:

Loved the air conditioner. It was quieter and took less power than the old one. The only problem was where the temperature sensor was located. I had to cut the wire and remotely mount it.

by:

We have had the unit for a year now and it works well. It keeps the RV cool on hot days. Very happy with the product.

by:

It was so good to get all the parts to install this air conditioner, in one order. We had ordered from Camping World and had to order each part separately, this ended up with the parts arriving at different times and we had to wait on the thermostat for a couples of weeks. It was so easy withe etrailer and when they told us that it was on back order and the order would be in in a week and it was, and now it is setting on my from porch. My sister and her husband is needing an air conditioner for their camper and I am going to recommend she contact etrailer.

Fast friendly service again!

by:

Ordered the AC from her based on the shipping date and that their website said it would be delivered by Tuesday 5/16 when I placed the order. The item shipped and the same day for h to e most part but then the date randomly changed from Tuesday to Friday. Very different dates. There was no delay on the UPS side, the e-trailer website and staff just use wrong dates to get the sale. Had to have someone go to the house twice to pickup the item and move inside since they also shipped some parts via USPS.

by:

makes to much noise have to turn it off at night so we can sleep

by:

I was really surprised but installation was easy. Start to finish took three and a half hours including the removal of the old unit. This replaced a Dometic Penguin ii.

by:

Easy to install except getting up on the trailer. Your install video has very helpful. Install manual talks of switches to set, but my controller had no switches

by:

UPS Shipped the Air Conditioner upside down all the oil went the head of compressor.on the should have this side up.

by:

I ordered my new furrion ac and it was delivered before time I haven’t installed it yet. I have ordered from ETRAILER before and they always deliver on time. Quality merchandise.thank you.

  • Difference Between Ducted and Ductless AC Units
The difference is going to come down to the air distribution box. A ducted system will have registers on the air distribution box to close and redirect air through the ducts. Your typical replacement air conditioner like the # FR26PR or # ADV79FR will work with both since it is just the AC unit and not the air distribution box. If you're looking for a full system replacement the # FR95PV is also compatible with both.

Depending on what exactly you're wanting to replace we do have a few options. You'll first want check the rooftop unit to see what your BTU rating is; it will either be 13,500 or 15,000. You'll have to remove the cover and there will typically be sticker that lists the model number and a bunch of different specifications for the unit and should say the BTU rating, if not then I can use the model number to figure it out for you. It's important that you match or increase the BTU rating of...

  • Can I Replace My GE AC Unit With A Furrion AC
Hello Rich. It is possible to replace your GE air conditioner with a Furrion AC unit. In order to do this, you will need get a whole new AC unit system since there aren't any adapter kits that allow you to simply plug and play the installation. So, you will be getting a new AC unit, controller, distribution box and thermostat. I recommend the Furrion Chill HE RV Air Conditioner System # FR95PV, which will come with everything you need. This should be a nice upgrade from your GE unit. The...

If you're needing something to plug right into your Carrier setup we have an Advent Air system that uses the same connections: - 13.5K Btu # ACCAR135 - 15K Btu # ACCAR150 For a completely new system with a thermostat I recommend checking out the Furrion Chill HE systems: - 13.5K Btu # FR95PV - 15K Btu # FR55PV

If you're replacing the controller for your air conditioner system then you'd have to replace the whole distribution box as well because they wouldn't all mount the same and no two brands have been tested to fit together yet. If you're just wanting to replace the rooftop unit and keep the rest of your Coleman Mach equipment then you'll need Furrion part # FR82PV, which will come with a wire harness adapter for a plug-and-play installation. If you want to replace the entire setup then you'll just need part # FR52PR if you want the controls up on the air distribution box or part # FR95PV if you'd prefer a wall thermostat.

  • Will Installing An Advent Air RV Air Conditioner System On A School Bus Void The Warranty
Yes, Advent Air does not warranty any units installed on school buses, food trucks, enclosed/utility trailers, or off-roading vehicles. This means that if you install the Advent Air RV Air Conditioner System # ADV94FR on your converted school bus you would void the manufacturer warranty. Furrion units do not have this stipulation so you could go with the Furrion Chill HE RV Air Conditioner System # FR95PV or part # FR37FJ for two units that would run off of one thermostat instead.

  • Can An Advent Air RV Rooftop Air Conditioner Be Hardwired Into A Dometic RV Air Conditioner System
Since your unit is hardwired you would have to cut the connector off of the Advent Air Replacement RV Air Conditioner # ACDOM135 in order to hardwire it into your system. Doing this will void your manufacturer warranty so I do not recommend it and instead recommend just replacing the system entirely with one like the Furrion Chill HE RV Air Conditioner System - Manual - 13,500 Btu - White # FR52PR or # FR95PV for wall mounted thermostat. While we don't currently offer Dometic branded AC units I do still have a solution for you with our Furrion AC units. You'll first want to remove the cover of your air distribution boxes and see if the wire harness that hangs down from your Dometic rooftop unit has a 6-pin or 9-pin connector. Since you're replacing the air distribution box and rooftop unit you'll also have to replace the thermostat and controller. For me deciding between an Advent Air or Furrion system has been a no-brainer lately with Furrion being the better of the two. Furrion dropped their line 14,500BTU units so you'll have to choose between 13,500 or 15,000.
