Video Transcript for Review of Furrion RV Air Conditioners - Chill Cube RV Air Conditioner Ductless White - LC54DX

Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look at the Furrion Chill Cube RV air conditioner with a white cover. Now this is going to be a great option to consider if you're looking for a reliable, whisper-quiet RV air conditioner that's gonna keep you cool on a hot scorching day. This does feature an aerodynamic compact cube design that's going to really help free up space on your roof for other items that you wanna mount on your roof, like a solar panel or a pop top. This is going to give you the ability to conserve that valuable space on your rooftop with this shape and design.

Now this 18,000 BTU per hour air conditioner is going to quickly and efficiently cool down the inside of your RV or camper van, and this uses the more energy efficient R32 refrigerant, which is going to meet the 2025 EPA regulations. This is designed to work in even the harshest temperatures and environments. So this air conditioner is compatible with your ductless systems. We do also have an option from Furrion that will work with your ducted systems, and you can find that option here at etrailer.com. But this is again, gonna be designed for your motor homes, your travel trailers, your fifth wheels and camper vans, but I do wanna point out that this has not been approved to be used on school buses, food trucks, enclosed utility trailers or offroading vehicles because typically the roofs on those items are not built with the support that is needed to handle the weight of an air conditioner system, or there could be too much flex in those roofs that it could potentially damage an air conditioner or further damage the roof itself.

So just so you're aware of that. Now, this is going to be a bolt-on installation. However, there is no hardware included with this. This is going to be simply for the air conditioner unit. You will need to pick up an air distribution box, and then you could also install an optional wall thermostat, and this unit is going to only be compatible with Chill Cube components.

Now this is going to fit roofs from 3 1/2 inches to six inches thick with an opening size 14 1/4 inches long by 14 1/4 inches wide. While we're talking about measurements, before we go any farther, let me give you some measurements of this unit. Looking at the width first, measuring at the widest point here, we're sitting at about 29 inches wide. Looking at the height, we're about 14 1/2 inches tall. And then the overall depth from the back to the front, we're sitting right at about 29 1/2 inches deep.

And this weighs about 75 pounds, just to kind of give you an idea of the weight, and the shell is all plastic at the base here, and of course, our plastic cover. Now I went ahead and took the screws out of our cover here so I could easily remove it just to give you a view of the inside. So this air conditioner, as I mentioned, does feature a whisper-quiet motor that's going to run continuously and that's going to help prevent the disruptive on and off cycles. And this also has low energy eco and gear modes that will efficiently run this air conditioner with minimal power draw. And this also has four fan speeds that are gonna be available to you to let you increase or reduce air flow, and this also has a turbo speed that's going to give you an additional boost of airflow on those scorching hot days. And I'm just giving you an overhead view as well, just so you have a good idea of what the inside of this looks like. Now, going back to my wide view here, I'm gonna go ahead and replace the cover. And by the way, this cover does feel pretty durable. (tapping on cover) It's kind of a matte textured white plastic cover. It's not like a smooth one or slippery one like some other manufacturers make on their air conditioners. So as you can see, if you need to do any maintenance, if you need to remove this for any reason, this is gonna be very easy to remove. There's 12 Phillips head screws that are going to hold this into place, so all you need to do is get a Phillips head screwdriver and remove those 12 screws, and then you're gonna be able to easily take this off, do any maintenance that you need to do, and then pop it back on as you saw I just did here. So this is gonna do a great job of protecting the inside from dirt and debris and things like that. And again, I think it's gonna hold up pretty well for you. That white color is gonna do a great job of reflecting the sunlight away from your RV. Now, I wanted to give you a lower view again here. You probably won't be able to see it, but we do have foam pads here at the base that's going to sit in between the air conditioner and the roof of your camper or RV. And then let me see if I can pull these wires out here just so you can get a good view of the wiring harness. I think there's another one there. Yeah, so it's probably gonna be pretty hard for you to see. On this product page, we'll have pictures of the wiring here, but I just wanted to show you the wires. You'll just pull this harness out from underneath the unit itself when you're installing this. So again, foam pads at the base. But I think that's gonna wrap up our brief look today. I do hope that our time together was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
