All awnings shield your RV patio from sun and rain, but this Solera awning is unique in that it is battery-powered and has the switch built right into the awning arm. You don't have trudge in and out of your RV to get it extended or retracted, and you don't need to be hooked up to a power source - if you like dry camping, this is perfect for you! Better yet, you don't need to do any hardwiring to get this installed.
You can extend and retract the awning 20 to 25 times on a single charge. Once the battery is drained, the included charge kit plugs into any 110V wall socket and connects to the battery pack built into the arm - don't worry, you won't need to remove the battery pack to charge it. It can take about 48 hours for it to fully charge again.
If you end up running out of battery before the patio party is over, you can always use your power drill (not included) to pull the awning back in thanks to the manual override.
One thing that can quickly ruin your camping trip is a broken awning. It's not easy or cheap to replace, and you can't really enjoy your patio without one. A big hazard to a healthy awning is rain: water pools in the fabric, stretching it out and putting strain on the arms with extra weight it isn't designed to hold. Next thing you know, the fabric rips - the arms snap - the whole awning comes crashing down, slamming against your RV and leaving you with a big and costly problem.
For traditional awnings, it's up to you to run out in the rain and lower one of the arms yourself so the water can run off. If you're away from your RV when it starts to rain, you can only hope your awning isn't damaged when you get back. This Solera awning solves this problem: it comes equipped with an automatic rain dump function. As soon as rainwater starts to pool in the fabric, one of the arms will automatically drop, giving the awning a pitched angle. The rainwater will then run off to one side, taking the pressure off the awning and your mind.
It's hard to get your awning in just the right place to keep you in the shade all day, especially if you have one that's pretty high off the ground. Sometimes you need just a little slant to your awning to keep the sun out of your eyes. The manual pitch adjustment built into the arms of this Solera awning gives you that option. Simply pull on one of the arms at the friction joint to drop that corner. It comes down easily and holds itself there for as long as you need it. When it's time to retract the awning, there's no need to readjust it; the awning will slide back in no matter what pitch the arms are set at.
The durable fabric of this awning is made to hold up to the rigors of the outdoors. It's made of premium 13.5-oz vinyl, an upgrade over the 10-oz fabric used in many awnings. It also features heat-welded seams to prevent leaks and is cold-crack protected to -25 F.
An awning rail is required to anchor the fabric of the awning to the RV, and your first step will need to be installing one (LC715216 - sold separately) if you don't already have one on your RV. You will need a minimum of 2-1/2" between the awning rail and the top of the entry door. You'll also need 69" of open space on the RV wall - from the awning rail straight down - so that the wall-mounted brackets for the awning arms can be installed.
The roller tube comes with the awning fabric already mounted and attaches to the awning arms. The other side of the fabric slides into the awning rail on the RV. Then use the included self-tapping screws to secure the arms to the wall-mounted brackets. Because this awning is powered by the self-contained, rechargeable battery, no wiring is required.

Still love this awning after 1 year! My motor home is 17 years old. This is my third (and best) awning. This is a very nicely designed piece of hardware. It bolts directly to the side of the motor home with two I-beams, so it is very sturdy. There was no wiring necessary since the battery is self-contained with an external charging connection. The installation video provided by ETrailer made the installation easy, with two helpers. Since it is battery operated, it's a breeze (pun) to extend or retract when its breezy outside. I've only had to recharge the battery once. Thank you ETrailer for another great product!
Received my quicker than I expected. The switch was missing the handle and etrailer shipped me a replacement. Awning works great. Much easier then the manual awning.
Well, Our Motorhome "Patches" manual 18' awning had outlived its life having performed admirably since 2003. Sadly it had become so road worn & tattered, we were ashamed to get out the gear & gumption to roll it out. Just too ruff looking for public viewing. Not counting the pain it was to deploy. we finally decided to replace it and found this great deal on etrailer for Solera 18'cordless power awning. Cordless. Power. One finger. Built in rain dump. No more trying to hook that little bitty loop 10' in air with a 4' rod looking into the sun & with Solera's automatic rain dump, no more rushing back from hiking or, fishing to roll that rascal in. Can you say, Bliss? Now the first one got a little jammed up in shipping & had to go back But, as soon as the folks at etrailer got confirmation it was returning, (the same day) they got another on out to me. (Ms. Ashley) And it arrived in vert short order. I cannot say enough good things about the folks at etrailer.( Ms. Ashley, Ms. Helen, Bro. Alex) Every single person I talked to was Professional, Polite, & Knew their stuff. Just like All of America used to be. But I digress, the Solera 18v Power Awning was fairly easy install with help from my Son. And guess what? No hunting for a power source! Toughest thing really was getting the old one down & disposing of it. The instructions were easy for a Man to understand & follow, (lotsa Pictures) & a really good hardware kit. I could not be happier! We had it installed and working in very short order taking plenty breaks. No more shame of ratty awning! No more aching back from jumping up & down reaching! No more sun blindness! Did I Say Bliss yet? So, if you're in the market for a new power awning, and you Don't want to spend a ton of money, do a lot of wire chasing, or fight with herd of disgruntled employees, and generally have a crappy day, Do yourself a favor and give these folks a call, or, email, or carrier pigeon, Just give them a chance. This is a great company selling a great product, And they are both MADE IN AMERICA! BTW, The handsome fellow on the roof is not me, He's my oldest son.
This is a great solution for RV owners wanting to upgrade to the convince of a motorized awning without the complexity of routing a source of power to the awning. My only wish would be for some bracket alternatives to accommodate mounting scenarios that need to clear trim pieces found on larger class A type motor homes. I had some questions of E-trailer on this issue which were a bit technical, and they referred me to Lippert. Lippert customer service has been unresponsive, going on 2 weeks now. I had a shipping damage issue involving the fabric on the roller tube. If you purchase the full awning, the roller tube with fabric is shipped separately from the motor arms. The arms were shipped UPS while the awning tube and fabric came via LTL motor freight, due to weight and size. At install, the fabric on was discovered to have puncture holes it. Some advice, inspect your shipment upon receipt for hidden damage. etrailer customer service came through, promptly shipping a new replacement awning fabric to me which I received in three days. They get 5 star rating for their end to end customer service. You can make a quality product, which overall I find this product to be, but unless you also deliver quality service you fail. This experience reinforces my decision to purchase from etrailer, rather than direct from Lippert. I’m still waiting to hear from Lippert customer service. on my installation questions.
etrailer.com made good on this flaw. I was not expecting it and Madison contacted me and assisted me with inventorying the missing components and replacing what was not in the original packaged materials. I am very pleased with their response.
Super great quality, easy to install and works awesome!! Thank you Greg S for all your help, you did a great job getting me what i needed in my very short time frame!!
Delivery too long and then awning wasn't correct. Will not have an awning for our 3 week vacation starting this Saturday. Unbelievable!!!

What a great company and staff. Thanks to hard the hard work you performed in my behalf.
I had purchased a Solera 18 volt-20 ft awning package and had it shipped to Camping World in Minnesota.
Somewhere along the way the 20 ft awning escaped from the delivery truck.
I won't mention who the freight shipper is, but the awning is still on the loose.
After many calls to the freight shipper and etrailer the staff decided to send me another awning to help me get on the road for an upcoming trip with my RV.
Otherwise it would have ruined my trip.
Thanks to everyone and I will continue to be a loyal purchaser of the many fine products the company sells.
Hats off and a big salute!!!
Thanks Dino
P.S. I hope to post pictures after the awning has been installed.
Hopefully it will be found and returned to E-Trailer
The awning itself works fair. The battery system totally sucks and has never worked properly and still doesn’t today. If I had my choice I would never buy this awning again. Product support was poor to say the least!
I have not been able to install my awning and cradle support yet. I'm giving 5 stars for the customer service I have received from the ordering process to receiving. There was a slight glitch (missing component) but was remedied quickly without hassle.
good quality and no issues after one year! very satisfied
The awning works as we anticipated.
Need better instructions for new installation, but overall really like the awning
Easy to order, fair price, quick delivery. The new awning is a great update to our 20 year old trailer.
love the awning works great only complaint is the instrution manual is not very good we kinda had to wing it.
This awning has been great. This awning was part of our "RV Renovation" project. It was a fantastic upgrade. It deploys and retracts without any issues. You can be set up in a minute without any problems. This unit is battery powered so there were no installation issues or wiring required which made it simple.
We do a lot of dry camping, and the battery capacity has not been an issue for us even when we have had to deploy and retract it multiple times during a trip.
It was easy to install, usage is easy with the battery power, however I would think the controls would be on the end where the door to my RV is not the other end, that's the only issue I have
So far so good! We love it!
I love the awning, it is doing great!
Delivered with boxes intact. All supplies were included and the awning is awesome!
freight delivery driver backed up to my shop & helped me inspect package for damage. Haven't installed awning yet.
