Manual RV Awning for Destination Camping
![Solera Destination Manual Retractable Awning]()
This manual spring-assisted awning is ideal for campers who like to stay at one campsite for weeks or more at a time. Unlike a standard 8' projection awning, the Destination's extra-long canopy projection expands the outdoor living area by an extra 20 percent. The awning arms can also detach and swing out to create a covered patio-type setup, giving you additional flexibility for a long stay. The Destination's arched canopy minimizes wind flap and prevents rain water from pooling, and the aluminum Solera Shield protects the fabric from the elements when it's retracted.
More Shade than Standard RV Awnings
![Solera Destination Carport Position]()
The Solera Destination Awning extends all the way out to 9'8", which provides 20 percent more shade than a standard awning with an 8' projection. As a result, this awning is perfectly suited for Class A motorhomes, fifth-wheel campers, and toy hauler RVs. The Destination is also ideal for RVs with a slide-out underneath the awning because it will extend beyond the slide-out.
Extended-Stay Awning
![Lippert Destination Center Ground Support Bar]()
The Solera Destination awning is specifically equipped for people who like to live in their RV for long periods of time and enjoy extended-stay camping trips. You can swing the awning arms out into a vertical "carport" position, which essentially creates a covered patio for your campsite. A center ground support bar is included to provide stability for the extended 9'8" projection.
![Lippert Components Solera Awnbrella]()
The Solera Awnbrella tension rods are easy to install and help to keep the canopy fabric arched and taut. This helps to keep the awning fabric from violently flapping in the wind, and it prevents rain water from pooling in the canopy.
Manual Retractable Awning with Spring-Assisted Operation
![Lippert Awning Spring-Assisted Operation]()
The Solera Destination operates like a standard spring-assisted awning. To extend the awning, release the travel locks on each arm, loosen the rafter knobs, and use the pull rod to unlock the roller. Then hook the rod to the pull strap and walk it out to unroll the awning. Once the awning is extended, set the tension, tighten the rafter knobs, and raise the arms to the desired position.
Durable Vinyl Fabric
![Solera Awning Fabric]()
The durable awning fabric holds up to the rigors of the outdoors. It's made of premium 13.5-oz vinyl, which is an upgrade over the 10-oz fabric used in many awnings. In addition, this fabric features heat-welded seams to prevent leaks. The fabric is made to withstand cold temperatures down to -25 degrees Fahrenheit, so it won't crack or degrade during the winter.
The Solera Shield helps to prolong the life of the awning. When the awning is retracted, this aluminum shield is all that will be exposed to the elements, serving as an extra layer of protection.
Manual Pitch Angle Adjustment
![Solera Adjustable Pitch Awning]()
The Solera Destination Awning lets you manually adjust the pitch to keep you shaded from the sun all day long. When the awning is fully extended, it will be parallel to the ground to protect you from the mid-day sun.
![Retractable Awning Pitch Adjustment]()
You can tilt the awning to one side to effectively block the sun as it moves throughout the day. Simply lift the lever located near the base of each arm, and raise or lower the arm to achieve the desired pitch angle. Then lower the lever to lock the arm back into place. The arms can also be adjusted when they're in the "carport" position, providing a variety of pitch options to block the sun at any time of the day, no matter how the awning is set up.
Simple Installation
![How to Install RV Awning]()
You will need a minimum clearance of 2-1/2" between the awning rail and the top of the entry door. You'll also need 78" of open space on the RV wall - from the awning rail straight down - so that the wall-mounted brackets for the awning arms can be installed. The awning rail (LC715216 - sold separately) anchors the fabric of the awning to the RV and is required if you don't already have one.
The roller tube, which comes with the awning fabric already mounted, attaches to the awning arms. The other side of the fabric slides into the awning rail on the RV. To complete installation, just use the included self-tapping screws to secure the arms to the wall-mounted bracket. Because this awning is rolled out manually, no wiring is required.
