Ellen: Hey everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com. Today we're taking a quick look at the Global Link Mounting Plate. And this is going to be for your baggage door slam latch that goes on those baggage doors on your RV, those little compartments to keep all our stuff safe and out of the way. So this is just going to be that mounting plate to get that slam latch attached. So this goes on the inside of that door to be the attachment plate for our slam latch.
That latch that it works with should look something like this. This is also available here at etrailer.com. The part number is 295-000015. So just lines up with the holes at the back, and then this oblong cutout actually, if I turn the correct way, lines up with a hole on our latch mechanism there. So as I open it, that still lines up with that.
Again, this is sold separately here at etrailer.com, along with a lot of other accessories, if you want to replace that latch with a new one.But as far as the measurements for our mounting plate, this measures 5 inches from outside edge to outside edge and 4-1/2 inches going the other direction. The inset is about 3-7/8 by about 3-1/2. The distance between our mounting holes center to center is about 2-13/16 inches. And then about 2-3/4 there. The diameter on each of those holes is about 3/16 of an inch.
And that oblong cutout is about an 1-1/4 long by about 3/8 of an inch wide. The plate overall is about a 1/2 inch thick, so this is going to work out well for those baggage doors that are at least an 1-1/2 inch thick.It is constructed of a strong steel with a zinc plating, so we shouldn't have any kind of corrosion or rust that builds up on that plate. The hardware is not included with this, so you will have to pick up some on your own. And it's also not included with that latch either. So either way, you're going to have to pick up some hardware to fit in to get this attached.But that's going to do it for a look at the Global Link Mounting Plate for baggage door slam latch..
