  • Safety for Heating Elements (CSA) C22.2 No. 72-m1984 (R2004)

Note: This heater pad should be installed on non-conductive surfaces only.

Why ThermaHeat?

When the outside temperature is cold enough, the exposed freshwater holding tank or step on your RV will freeze. For tanks, this stops the flow of water from reaching your sink, shower, or other freshwater source. Furthermore, the frozen water could potentially cause cracks or other irreparable damage to your tank or pipes, which would mean you would have to replace them. And a frozen step can be extremely slippery as you try to enter or exit your RV or camper.

The full-contact ThermaHeat heater pad will prevent this by keeping your holding tank or step warm during freezing temperatures. It has a built-in thermostat that automatically operates the pad. When the temperature of the tank or step drops to 45 degrees F, the pad will turn on. When the temperature rises to 67 degrees F, the pad will turn off. It can also completely thaw out a tank or a step if it's already frozen, assuming that none of the components have been damaged. The heater pad does all the work for you, preventing you from having to go out in the cold and thaw it out by hand with a heat gun or hair dryer, which can melt the side of your tank or step if not used properly.

Installation and Wiring

ThermaHeat Peel-and-Stock Installation

This heater pad has easy, peel-and-stick installation onto the bottom of your tank or step. The flexible carbon fiber material is designed to fit the contours of any surface. The pad is meant for use on fresh water tanks, but can be installed onto gray water or black water tanks. Please note, however, that adding a heat source to a gray water or black water tank may create excess gasses and odors.

ThermaHeat 2-Wire Design

The pad has a white wire for ground, and a red wire for power. This 2-wire design is compatible with DC power while your RV is in transit. It can also run through a converter while connected to a power source when your RV is parked.

Additionally, you are able to install this pad with other ThermaHeat heater pads (sold separately). In order to do this, they must be connected and run parallel. You would daisy-chain the red wires together and connect them to the battery of your RV or camper and then daisy-chain the white wires together and ground them. In order to turn the pads on and off, you will need to install a switch (sold separately) between the battery and the pads.

I ordered 6 pads and tested them all in the deep freeze with an a meter before installing. All 6 worked properly.

After a year on the trailer, they still all work properly and adhesive is holding well.

Easy to order online. As described. Prompt delivery. This is a tank heater for my RV and it went on smoothly. I am replacing a five year old heater pad that eventually started peeling off. This time I filled the tank first to stretch the plastic tank before applying the pad. Time will tell if it stays on.

Just got them today, very quick shipping.
I’ll
install Monday using etrailers video

WE NEEDED IT FOR A QUICK INSTALL FOR CUSTOMER PICK UP AND BILL CAME THRU FOR US. HE WAS FANTASTIC TO DEAL WITH.

by:

Easy website and transaction to navigate. The fastest shipping and handling I've ever seen! Thank you!

by:

Holding tank heater pad sort of mounted, but as of now, have had no need to use.

by:

I am very pleased with these tank heaters and the excellent customer service provided by etrailer! I installed one on each of my 3 tanks...fresh water, gray water, and black water. Easy peel-and-stick installation! Then I routed the wires thru split loom wire sleeves and secured with zip ties. I'm ready for freezing weather now.

Great fast shipment

by:

1 year later, still solidly adhered to the bottom of the plastic freshwater tank.

by:

Packaging fail but customer services made it right in a quick and efficient manner!

by:

Heater pad was delivered in excellent condition. Mounting it to my 30 gallon, exposed gray tank was simple. The adhesive is very strong and aggressive, so be careful with initial placement. Of course as always, I thoroughly cleaned the surface prior to mounting. I always use 91% isopropyl alcohol with a lint-free rag in such projects. Wiring was straight-forward, and it is quite effective at least to the 17-22F low temperatures I have experienced.

After one year installed, and being in 20F several nights, my tanks have never froze. I am very satisfied with my purchase.

by:

looks great. It will be a few months before I can hook them up.

by:

Completely surprised I got the order the next day. The only "Scary" thing was in my shipping address was to show " My Name" c/o Company name, so it would get to me. It was fortunate the receiver opened the box and "Guessed" who ordered this item. I tried to use your website to initiate this order but your website hung up while filling in the shipping address form, initiating me to call the order in. Thank you for having it in stock and shipping it so quickly. I'll have it installed before the next cold snap early next week.

This product is still functioning and keeps my tanks from freezing in cold weather conditions.

by:

The decision is still to be determined. The last 2 were a disaster. Without being used, the pads came apart with the rubber separating from the coils. What a mess in cleaning the tanks of the old pads

by:

I bought these as part of a underbelly overhaul. Went on with out a problem. Ambient Temps are below 60...I have skirting and propane construction heater under TT keeping things warm for tonight.
Time will tell, so far so good.

Still working great, I never froze last winter and I live in northern Colorado.

Install 3 holding take heaters, 1 fresh water tank heater and 5 elbow/ pluming heaters on my trailer. All of the heaters running at the same time draws less than 300 watts so I can now leave then on when towing without having to run my propane heater in the trailer. I added R30 insulation to my underbelly and took a trip to Angel Fire NM where one night it got down to -24 degrees F. None of my tanks froze. I had one temperature probes directly on my black water tank and it was 53 degrees with the -24 outside. Every day was below freezing with temps in the lower teens each night. I believe these are rated at -11 but it is a good idea to have an enclosed underbelly to keep the rest of your pluming warm.

Well, ordering had a hiccup, will not ship to P.O. Box. Figured a solution so away it came. Did hot shipping on Friday got it on Tuesday ??
Product was exactly as described but after comparing to tanks, they really need to be longer in my opinion to cover more surface area. Had a guy install directly to a 20 amp breaker which appeared to be a simple wiring task which I’m not up to doing but was fairly quickly accomplished by tech. Pads heated up immediately but the low amps makes it a slow process in heating. 3 tanks were partially frozen but as of today, Sunday the 17th I was able to discharge all tanks sufficiently enough to go a few days. I’m in bowman Nd with conditions currently-17. I 100% recommend these heating pads. Just don’t expect a complete warming or thawing to occur in under 48 hrs under my conditions. I’ll provide pictures of after install at a later date , it’s cold and windy and I’m inside for the day

Installed on a Coachmen Prism 2150LE. The unit did not come with tank heaters, but found to be prewired for them. Added a switch, connected the power wire in the fuse box, installed the new tank heater pads and appears to be working great.

by:

Original order was received defective. Customer service and technical support was very responsive. It appears etrailer's customer service is handled in house and not farmed out to another country. A new item was delivered immediately. I was pleasantly surprised there are still companies that value customer service.

by:

I ordered three electric tank heater pads. The price was great. The delivery quick. I will be ordering more from etrailer. The tank heaters will permit me to take my Chalet camper on ski trips and we will be able to have hot water and showers.

by:

Received two holding tank heating pads today for my rv. I installed without problem in just a few minutes, motorhome was pre-wired. Less than $80 dollars invested. Bid for the work from a local rv dealer was over $1000!

Thanks, etrailer.com

Excellent company to deal with

by:

I liked the price of the product. It was very easy to attach to the water tank. I am hooking it up now. I plan on buying more later on to use on other areas. I use my trailer during late year hunts and want running water. The low wattage/ amp use is low.

by:

Reasonable price, delivery on time, product as advertised. Installation was a breeze, thanks to written instructions right on the product. Adhesive seems very durable, make sure you align the product exactly where you want it before application. 5 stars.
