Video Transcript for Review of Dometic 25K Btu Black Furnace - DMC26RR

Hello, neighbor, Steven here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look at our Dometic RV furnace for LP gas with an automatic pilot running on 12 volts rated at 25,000 BTUs with a black access panel/door included. Now folks, you will also need some dimensions real quick to make sure this is gonna fit for you. So on our length overall, I got 20 inches deep, or long. I got 16 and a half inches wide on the metal frame, the part that slides into the wall area, or wherever you're mounting it. And it is seven inches tall, again, on the metal frame part here.

And I'll take the panel off here in a second and show you all that real close, but I wanna make sure you got those dimensions up front. Now again, it does come with the cover here. I'm gonna go ahead and remove all of that real quick. It's just loosely sitting there. So the cover itself is gonna come in a couple of different pieces.

You got the main piece here that just says "hot" on it on the outside and everything. And then you've got this other main black enamel door here, if you will, and it's got some foam behind it. And then you got the main plastic housing that kind of goes in first, and it's got slots here that line up with all these tabs in the front. I'm gonna set all that aside so I can show you some more information about this closer. So the front panel here and everything, again, those tabs will go into that plastic frame.

You will need to purchase separately, some RTV sealant, some butyl tape, and also a thermostat to do the operation complete and have everything working correctly. You're also gonna need some number six and number eight by half inch pan head type or AB screws that are self-tapping, maybe. Those are not provided. So again, the thermostat, first and foremost. And then again that butyl tape or sealant and the screws.

So you can get that separately here at etrailer.com, or you can source it locally, it's totally up to you. Now you also get included these duct adapters. You get three of them. You get two brackets for mounting it that we inchesre in the front with those two screws. And as you can see, you got two access ports there. Three on the back, two on the other side, and the two up top here. Those are gonna be where those duct adapters go. So you'd pop them out according to the instructions, whichever ones you need, particularly for your setup. Now in the front here, there is an on off switch, kind of behind all these wires, and also an LED light in the middle of that control board. It could flash, meaning there's a diagnostic code, if there's a fault with the unit or something. And all those fault codes and everything are found in the instruction manual. So one more time in the dimensions. So 16 and a half wide, seven inches tall, and again, 20 inches full length or depth. So I wanna show you that without the cover on the front there, just so you kind of understand what I was talking about at the beginning. Rated at 25,000 BTUs. I always tell people, read the instructions, make sure you know what you're getting into. If you're gonna install this yourself, you do need a nice length of wire and you got two blue for thermostat, red for power, black for ground. Just a nice unit by Dometic. Again, 25,000 BTUs. It should be able to heat up your camper RV interior with ease. Well folks, that's gonna wrap it up for our quick look here today at the Dometic RV furnace. Again, 25,000 BTUs, with the black panel/access door included. This unit is also ETL-certified. Thanks for watching everyone, and have a safe day.
