Video Transcript for Review of Dometic 30K Btu Furnace with Thermostat and Black Access Panel - DMC88RR

Hello neighbor, Steven here with etrailer.com. Folks, if you like me and you're tired of being cold in the wintertime or inside your camper in the early mornings, well upgrade or install a new Dometic RV furnace with included thermostat and included black access panel or door. It runs on LP gas with an automatic pilot light and it's rated at 30,000 BTUs. I want to give you a quick closeup of the front fascia here as well as the thermostat, and we're gonna then set all of that to the side. It's just kind of loosely sitting on there, so I don't want to fall off on us. We're gonna get this main exterior metallic cover and it says hot and lets all the extra ventilation kind of gases and stuff vent out or whatnot during operation.

You get the black enamel finished metallic cover and you get the plastic fascia here that goes on before all the covers and everything. So again, I'mma set that to the side and I'm gonna go ahead and pop up some dimensions for you, but overall it's 16 and a half inches wide, seven inches tall and 20 inches deep or long, however you wanna describe it. Now folks, with this furnace you can quickly and efficiently heat up the interior of your RV or camper, travel trailer, motor home, whatnot, fifth wheels, and again, it can replace or upgrade or even just add one if you don't have one, a furnace. This propane power valve P gas or liquid propane, this shipping kind of rubber plug here is covering up the connection port for that. It also uses an automatic DSI gas pilot that's gonna reduce the risk of gas leaks, but increase your fuel efficiency and it can automatically light until the heater is switched off.

So again, because it runs on propane, it's gonna be great for boondocking, it just needs 12 volts for the igniter. Your battery should be able to provide that without any kind of electrical hookup. Now it is a low air turbulence that's gonna provide quiet operation when it's in use. You can mount it horizontally like I got it now or vertically, it's totally up to you. So you have those flexibility options.

It's compact. There is in the rear main access panel here or the front rather. There's a main little access or what do you call this monitor if you will. It's just a switch and a button and I'm gonna call it the control board. Let's go with control board and it can flash the LED light if it's got diagnostic readouts or codes, faults if you will.

So meaning it'll flash like boom, boom, boom, you know, not audible, which is visible, but if it flashes and it's not working, consult the operation manual in a troubleshooting and it'll tell you based on the number of flashes in so many seconds, what the fault is and you can quickly get that remedied and get you back going. Now a couple things you will need that are sold separately that you could potentially get from us or locally, it's up to you, RTV sealant and butyl tape's gonna be needed. That's for sealing everything up when you put the doors on and the exterior piece, you're also gonna need some number six and number eight by half inch long pinhead type AB screws or self-tapping screws to complete the whole install. So they're gonna give you four screws for the main exterior panel and then two brackets for mounting it and two little bitty screws here for mounting those little installation tabs or mounting brackets. Other than that, you're probably gonna need some more short number six or number eight pinhead AB self-tapping screws. The whole thing is ETL certified. You got two duct options on the front, two on both sides, and three in the back. You get three of these duct adapters. Basically, you pop them out, use these as needed, wherever you need 'em. Again, you get three of them included and once again, you get their thermostat included. Pretty simple, on off switch on the top and then you can raise or lower your temperature as needed on the bottom. So again, folks, read the instruction thoroughly before you try to tackle the install if you're gonna do it yourself. If you don't wanna mess with it, that's fine. Contact your local installation team or someplace in your area, wherever you're at as far as who does these type of installs, and they can surely help you with that as well. The whole unit's pretty light, about 35 and a half pounds. Again, folks, the black Dometic RV furnace with included thermostat and black access panels or doors. I'm Steven, thanks so much for your time. Thanks for watching, stay warm.
