Lumens are used to measure the amount of usable light that is put out by a light source. Raw lumens represent the number of lumens that the manufacturer claims the LEDs are capable of producing. It does not include the light's drive method or the amount of light lost from the lens or reflector. Effective lumens take these factors into account and represent the number of lumens that are actually produced by the complete light assembly, not just the amount of light that the diodes are capable of producing. This light has a 870 raw lumen capacity and produces 720 effective lumens.
Surface-mount RV lights install using a flange or bracket with mounting holes. These lights lay flat against the RV surface and only require a small, often pre-existing hole, for wiring. Mounting hardware is used to secure the light to the trailer.

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this surface-mount LED RV dome light with the clear lens in the switch, and a 720 lumen light output. Now, this dome light will function as an interior ceiling light for your RV, and it'll also work great under cabinets. Does offer a three-way switch here to control brightness and power function. Has a high setting, a low setting, and then an off setting. Now at the end of this video, I am going to hook this up to some power to show you how bright the light is, and then show you the different settings.
Does use an SMD construction of the LED circuit board, that will better withstand shock and vibration, and allows improved heat distribution and thinner construction. Now this does use 30 LEDs, which makes great replacements for incandescent lights. The LEDs will last 50 times longer, they're more efficient because they'll provide brighter light with less power output. And, of course, no bulbs to replace or brittle filaments to break, and they do give you a lifetime warranty on the LEDs. It is a clear translucent lens that will diffuse the light and hide the diodes.
It is a durable plastic housing and lens. It is compatible with 12 volt DC systems. And this is designed to mount on the surface of the ceiling. It does have the mounting holes right here. Basically, this light will lay flat against the surface and only require a small hole for the wiring to fit through.
Now, the mounting hardware is used to secure the light to the trailer. Now, the mounting hardware is not included, you would have to supply that. It is a two wire design, includes a power wire and a ground wire. Few specs on this, the light output. The effective lumen rating is 720 lumens, the raw lumen rating is 870 lumens.
Going to give you the measurements of it, and then we're going to hook it up to some power. So, if we do the overall length, one end to the other is 15 and 3/4". The width on it is going to be right at 3 and 5/16" wide. And the overall height of it is only going to be about 1 and 3/16" tall. So what we're going to do now, is go ahead and hook up our power and our ground. And once those are all hooked up, I'll go ahead and turn on our 12 volt pilot. And then you can see, with the switch in the middle position like it is now, it is off. And if I push the top one, there's a one line and then two lines. So the one line will be the lower setting. So you can see when I push that. There you go. I'll go ahead and turn off the overhead lights. And then you can see, I'll go ahead and push the bottom one. First we'll go to off again, and then you'll see the bottom one is a lot brighter. Again, I'll go back to the. The less brighter one. So you can see it gives you a very large area. What I'm actually even going to do, is zoom out and give you a better idea. The lighted area will give off, and then I'll go ahead and turn back on our overhead lights, and go ahead and turn back off our power. But that should do it for the review on this surface-mount LED RV dome light with the clear lens and switch..

Surface mount. 2-Wire design.Seems good but it was incredibly difficult to get the lens off in order to use the screw holes to install it. But the width is perfect for its location and that narrow of an led light is hard to find for some reason.
Good product. Went on easy, sealed well, and so far is holding up well.
We replaced all our overhead lights with these lights and LOVE them. They were delivered quickly and went up easily. It sure made a difference in our motor home.
Used for under cabinet, over sink in RV. Isn’t flush because of wires and clear cover is very difficult to remove and replace. Looks great in space and serves its purpose.
