Extension latches onto your RV ladder using built-in hooks to close the distance from the bottom rung to the ground. Save your knees and your bumper when climbing up to the roof, remove it when you're done, and store in a cargo compartment.

Tired of climbing up onto the bumper to reach the ladder on your RV? Or perhaps you have bad knees and can't reach your ladder's higher-up bottom step? This rustproof aluminum extension latches onto the existing rear ladder on your RV or camper and bridges the gap between the ground and that first step. Because the bottom step is much more accessible, you'll be able to climb up your ladder more easily and without putting any additional strain on your joints.
Whenever you need to do maintenance on your RV roof, latch the built-in hooks onto your existing ladder above the bottom step. If your RV ladder is a little wider than this ladder extension, you can twist the hooks outward to ensure it fits properly.
The stepping areas are grooved to give your feet some traction while you're climbing the ladder, even in the rain. This prevents you from having to step onto a surface that can get slippery such as your RV's bumper or the smooth, bottom bar of your factory ladder.
This compact ladder extension is very easy to stash away once you remove it from your RV. It's lightweight so it's easy to carry to storage. You can tuck it away and out of sight in a smaller closet, RV cargo compartment, or anywhere else you're able to fit it.

Extension latches onto your RV ladder using built-in hooks to close the distance from the bottom rung to the ground. Save your knees and your bumper when climbing up to the roof, remove it when you're done, and store in a cargo compartment. The ladder extension works exactly as pictured. It extends the usual ladder down to the bumper, where it is much easier to mount than that high step on the back end of the RV.
The structure seems sturdy (I weigh 225 lbs.). The picture shows some black caps over the horizontal pieces that brace off the bumper. Mine had a cap that inserted inside the aluminum tube and would be barely visible in the picture. I improved the design by putting two heavy rubber furniture feet (like on the bottom of a crutch) over the two black caps to make it much more robust.
Also, the lock for the hooks are 1/4-20 screws with phillips screwdriver slots. I went to Ace hardware and purchased knobs to mount on the screws so I wouldn't have to hunt a screwdriver every time I stop at a campsite (or leave one).
I am pleased with the product. While traveling, I will lock the ladder extension on a higher rung of the fixed ladder and hold it tight with a bungie cord. That way, I can leave the 4 foot step ladder I usually carry in the cargo compartment at home.
I don't really know how the extension will work until I install the ladder I bought. I believe it will work fine but just don't know yet.
It was supposed to fit my RV but it didn’t. Cheaply made as well.

I wanted to ask how it did not work with your RV ladder? Was it too short?
Ladder received as advertised: very good quality product, all parts as required, and adequate instructions. Installation without major problems by one not particularly mechanically inclined. I have not put it to the climb test yet; however it has a "rock solid" feel and looks really nice on our RV.
Got package ok, problem was two small set screws that hold legs out that rest on the bumper were loose and rolling around in the box they fell out when I opened box and at first could only find one, did find other other on floor but they should have been tapped in with the Allen wrench so they could not be lost. Other than that it fits and works great.
Ladder Extension works great and is very strong. I also like that it's adjustable the way it lies on the rear of the coach.
Everything came together and got the ladder on the MH. Thanks.
item arrived exactly as described, and on the exact date. It is sturdy and well built, attached easily. I look forward to using this for several years.
My ladder is still working perfectly!!
Works great !

The extension ladder did not work well for me. I believe it would work for other folks just fine. Our camper was to high from ground to work. I used part of my older ladder to make my own extension.
