Ellen: Hey everyone. I'm Ellen here etrailer.com. Today we're taking a look at the Compartment Door Key Lock Set.This is going to replace a worn out or maybe damaged lock for your RV compartments, so we'll get our lock core and also the two keys to operate that. And we'll have an option of either a straight blade or an offset. Also have the hardware to get that attached, so if we take our straight blade, just fit that over the little square piece of the back, thread in our bolt with that star washer. So it should hold in place well.Of course you want to make sure that you tighten that down so it's nice and snug.
But that's going to be what actually keeps everything together so that tab or that blade will fit into the receiver on our compartment door. So if you need a little bit of an offset, we'll get this one. Either have that going out or up, up or down. And then we're actually attaching this to the surface, but we want to do this before you put on the blade, but we'll have this little ring nut, so that's what actually attaches it to the door. So thread that on there and then attach our blade.
So don't do what I did.So pretty simple to get this installed. Everything is made out of a chrome-plated zinc, so it should be resistant to any kind of rust or corrosion. And this is a pretty universal kit. The lock core is going to have a 5/8-inch diameter, so any lock cores that had that original measurement should work out with this one.As far as the blade length, has a total length of about 1 3/4 inches. If we go to the center of that bolt or the center of the attachment point, it's about 1 inches.
So, it'll swing at about a 1-inch radius there.Again, lock core about 5/8 of an inch in diameter. The width of our blades is about 5/8 of an inch. And the thickness is about 1/8 of an inch.So it's covered by a lifetime warranty from JR Products.And that's pretty much all there is to it for our Compartment Door Key Lock Set. The lock and key are identical to the original one on our 2001 Starcraft camper storage compartment! We can replace the old lock and continue to use the same key for both this and the other compartment, which didn't need a replacement lock. Accurate service and fast delivery was much appreciated!

Very happy with my order,,,But I was looking for the exterior shower compartment door lock so it has a shorter lock arm. I thought the old and new would be interchangeable and with a little filing of the square hole, it was. All in all,, satisfied customer. I’ll be back.

- Compartment Door Locks that Can be Used to Add Locks to Battery and Propane CompartmentsThe Compartment Door Key Lock # 372305 would be a great choice to add locks to the compartment doors you mentioned. You'd have to drill a 5/8 inch hole in the doors but that wouldn't be too difficult.
