Hi, everyone. Aiden here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at this High Pointe 1000 Watt RV Microwave. It's gonna be one that mounts above your stove top and also includes a vent fan and a light. So if you need to have some extra visibility or that ventilation while you're cooking on the stove top, it's gonna double as that as well. Let's check it out.

That surface light underneath is controlled by the button. You get a sound confirming that you pressed it and you get one light setting underneath. It's pretty bright. Good enough, I'd say for cooking. And then the vent fan has two different power levels high and low.

(fan whirling) And you just control those levels by pressing the button. It'll intake through the bottom through some removable filters and exhaust out the top through these vents here kind of blowing upwards as you have it running. Underneath those filters are these thin metal mesh very easy to clean. These are the exact same style of filters I have on my microwave at home and it's really easy to just wash 'em off and clean them under the sink, and then they just pop back into place whenever you're done with them. Inside, you've got 1.6 cubic feet of space, the rotating glass tray to ensure all your food cooks evenly and a light on the inside so you can see what's going on.

I'd say this is actually a really good size for an RV microwave, very comparable to a household microwave, and that door feels good quality on the hinges and that close. There is a little bit of wiggle room here which is kind of odd but overall I'd say it fits fine and it looks nice up here. No button to open that you just pull on the handle to release it or close it. You've got your LED light up top to tell the time that you can adjust but also to see your timers and your cook time, things like that. You've got a quick add 30 seconds button.

You've got some presets for things like popcorn and then of course your vent and light controls plus your start and stop. Now whether you are replacing an existing microwave or adding one new or replacing an old one, then this one is going to have specific measurements that you need for your cutout. From side to side the cutout that ours is mounted in is 30-3/4 of an inch. And from top to the very bottom edge the lowest point there is going to be 16-1/4 of an inch to the bottom of the vents there. It does include mounting templates and all the hardware required. So if you are doing this from scratch and not just replacing a version of this, then it's going to give you the pieces you need to get it all mounted up. Now depending on what you already have in your RV you might have a different size microwave or just be looking for something different to put in. That's okay, we have a ton of different options from High Pointe both in the different sizes for mounting them up as well as different wattages and even styles. This one is black. We also have a bunch that are more silver material. In my opinion, they maybe look a little bit nicer and remind me more of a typical household appliance just with the way they look, but it's gonna be down to preference and of course what your rig can accept. You probably don't wanna be putting anything in here that's too big for what you already have and if we can keep things and modifications to a minimum, if at all, that's ideal. And that's really all there is to it. I think as far as microwaves go, this is a really solid option. It's a great one to put above your stove top since it does include that vent fan and the light. If yours is mounted up into a standalone compartment then we've got styles for that as well. I don't think you should go with something like this because that vent fan really wouldn't be used. But if this fits your needs I think it's gonna be a really solid fit. Thanks for watching.
