LOVE ALL THE PLUG I HAVE GOT FROM YOU

by:

It has done the job without any issues. We camped for 37 days over the past yr and used it probably another 30 days here at the house. Good unit that I would recommend.

by:

Great to step down to 30A when 50A isn't available. My trailer can run on 30A with only 1 A/C unit

by:

Good product. Sturdy.

by:

Fantastic purchase. Works flawlessly, sometimes a pain to go out and reset, but that’s only because it’s done it’s job and protected our electrical system.

by:

I went from a 30 to a 50 amp service so purchased this adapter to be able to plug into a 30 amp pad if necessary. Works as designed and highly recommend

by:

you guys are great

Robert S.

works great just needed it 2 times but it did come in handy

by:

Works exactly as described. While you can find the other more common adapters at local stores I couldn’t find this one anywhere. Now instead of multiple daisy chains I can use one adapter to go from my trailer directly into my smaller generator. It makes powering my A/C much more convenient.

by:

Good quality, rugged adapter, perfect for keeping in the storage area of our motorhome for when we only had access to 30A power.

by:

Very easy to install as long as it is warm, appears to be good quality.

by:

The plug adapter is very well made and works great. Not the first item I have purchased from etrailer. They're the best because you can always get somebody knowledgeable on the phone to help you figure out what is the best thing to buy.

by:

I use this adapter whenever a 30A receptacle all that is available at the campsite. It has worked flawlessly. I like that it is flexible between the plug and receptacle

by:

Very useful adapter when you only have 30A service. Very well made and holds up to use without cracking of outer covering.

by:

Just what we needed, and many other places were out of stock. Better than that, the staff at etrailer has always been terrific to work with. Products always arrive quickly, and are exactly what we ordered. I like no surprises!

by:

Nice adapter in case we go somewhere without 50 amp service.

by:

Works great to connect my camper 50 amp cord to my generator connection.

by:

This company is excellent to work, I would highly recommend them for your trailer and electrical needs!!!!

by:

Product works well, received it quite quickly after placing the order. I would recommend etrailer to everyone.

by:

Just what i was looking for perfect and didn't take long to arrive to California I'll surely order from you guys anytime i need parts for my trailer.....thanks

by:

Fast delivery.

by:

Items as advertised and arrived sooner than I was expecting

by:

this will work when I need to run 1 a/c on my rv

@Ronald We're happy to hear that!

by:

Nothing special but it does exactly what it is supposed to do.

by:

I ordered 2 items, both were exactly as described. Very well manufactured. Pleased with the items and with the process to order.

  • 50 Amp Progressive Surge Protector Not Working When Connected to 30 Amp Service via "Dog Bone"
You can connect your trailer with 50-amp service to a 30-amp RV park outlet with a 50-amp surge protector. For instance, the 50 amp cord from your trailer (with male prongs) can plug into a 50-amp surge protector. The cord from the surge protector can plug into the female side of a 30 amp to 50-amp adapter (dog bone) like the Mighty Cord # Item # A10-3050FBK Dog Bone Adapter. Then the 30-amp end of the dog bone plugs into your 30-amp service. If your 50-amp surge protector detects an...

  • Comparing Mighty Cord RV Power Cord Adapters A10-3050FHVP & A10-3050FBK
The Mighty Cord RV Power Cord Adapter # A10-3050FHVP will have the ring on the end of the 30amp male connector. This will help separate the end of the adapter from the other connector without getting your fingers near the terminals. That is the only difference besides the color to the Mighty Cord RV Power Cord Adapter # A10-3050FBK.

  • Using Mighty Cord Dogbone 50 Amp to 30 Amp Adapter with 50 Amp Voltage Protector on RV
Yes, when hooking up to 30 amp shore power you can simply add the Mighty Cord Dogbone Adapter # A10-3050FBK, which will connect to the 30 amp outlet and then go to your existing Camco 50 amp RV Power Defender # CAM55306, which would then plug into your RV. The Camco Power Defender is still going to protect your RV from potentially dangerous surges over 50 amps. I have attached a couple short video reviews that you can check out as well.

The Mighty Cord Dogbone RV Power Cord Adapter # A10-3050FBK that you referenced has 50 Amp Female and 30 Amp Male connectors. This allows connecting a 50-amp RV power inlet to 30-amp service. For a similar product that allows connecting a 50-amp RV inlet to BOTH 30-amp and 15-amp service you can use Camco Power Grip RV Power Maximizer # CAM55025. This allows connecting to both 15 and 30-amp service at the same time to provide 45-amps total current to the RV. Each power connection can...

The Mighty Cord Dogbone RV Power Cord Adapter # A10-3050FBK lets you convert your RV's 50-amp power cord to work with a 30-amp electrical hookup at an RV park. The female plug connects to your RV's 50-amp power cord. The male plug connects to a 30-amp outlet on an electrical box. This is the best to safely get it done without causing any issues. You will not be able to draw more than 30 amps from the RV park hookup. We don't carry a 50 Amp Female to (2) 30 Amps Male End connection.

When using the Mighty Cord RV Power Cord Adapter # A10-3050FBK to hook your 50 amp service camper up to 30 amp shore power you're getting power to both leg of the 50 amp plug legs. If you took a multimeter, like # PT89ZR, and tested the legs both would read 120v. Even though there are two legs you'll still only be getting 30 amp service in total.

  • Recommended 50 Amp to 30 Amp Adapter for Camper Trailer
I recommend using the Mighty Cord Dogbone RV Power Cord Adapter # A10-3050FBK with your the Mighty Cord RV Power Cord # A10-5025ED. This has 90 degree connectors which make it ideal for tight spaces. Another option (which I like better) is to use the Mighty Cord RV Power Cord Adapter # A10-3050EDBK because you are just using 1 wire and not making multiple connections between your camper and power source. Simply carry both cords with you and when use the correct one to match up with the...

I do have options for you but a voltage protector like the Camco RV Power Defender Voltage Protector part # CAM55301 cannot be used when converting from 50 amps to 30 amps. Instead, you would just need to use a standard extension power cord with dogbone adapter. For this I recommend the Mighty Cord RV Power Cord Adapter part # A10-3050EHD which is 25' long. I do have some of the components that you will need to set your trailer up for a shore power circuit but if install cost is all you are looking for then you would be best off talking with a qualified service center as this is not something we partake in.
