Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this Hughes Autoformers 50 Amp Safe View Smart Power Inlet in the White Color. Now this is a 50 amp power inlet. This will let you connect your RV to shore power, and it is compatible with the twist lock power cords with the locking rings. The display panel, right over here, this will let you know if the shore power connection is safe to use.
It'll provide early warning of problems at campsites that have the old power boxes, and it saves your appliances from any damage that can be caused by the incorrect wiring. Now these letters over here, they are LEDs, and they'll illuminate when you connect your shore power cord. They has a G, which is the ground, L1 for line one, L2 for line two, and an N for neutral. And there's also a halo light that goes around the whole perimeter here that'll also tell if it's working good. If it's all white, that means it's good.
If there's red, that's a problem. Now all green lights on this will tell you it's safe to turn on your RV's main breaker. Any red lights or indicators remaining off will tell you there's a problem. And on the instructions, it'll show you that there are different white patterns that'll help identify missing lines, missing neutral, missing ground, or even reverse polarity. And of course, all lights off will mean there's no power coming from your pedestal.
The cover on it, you can see is a nice cover that'll snap shut to protect the inlet from water and debris while you travel. It is a nylon plastic construction, resists damage that can be caused by weather and excessive heat. And on the inside, when you make your connections on the inside here, they use nickel plated contacts, which are corrosion resistant. Now this is an easy installation into your RV wall. The hardware, you can see right here, is included.
And it uses the same mounting holes you can see here and a wall opening as most standard inlets. The spacing between these mounting holes, horizontally and vertically, is two and seven 16ths of an inch. This part is RVIA compliant, MEMA compliant, and ETL certified. Amperage, again for this, is 50 amps. A few dimensions on this, if we measure the width side to side, it's gonna be right at four and three eights inches. The height to the very top right here, four and a quarter inches tall. And the total depth from the front all the way to the back, about five and a quarter inches deep. The outlet depth, in other words, when you mount this, the amount that'll be protruding out, about one and three eight inches. Now this is in a white color. It is also available in an all black color. We sell that separately. It's part number HU27VR. But that should do it for the review on the Hughes Autoformers 50 Amp Safe View Smart Power Inlet.
