Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the SmartPlug black nonmetallic data port dual inlets. Now if you use the SmartPlug to power your ride, then this data port will match the SmartPlug setup, while giving you the same weatherproof protection that you're familiar with. We mentioned it offers the same SmartPlug mounting flange pattern and on the inside, if we open the lid here, you can see it offers an exterior cable jack that'll let you connect your RV to cable internet, television, or satellite at the campground. Does include, right over here, one coaxial F-type connector and it does give you an extra port opening over here for installation of a second data port connection. If you have a second connection you wanna make, all you have to do is take out this black plug and then you can make your connection over there.
If you're not gonna use it, if you're just gonna use the one, you can put the plug back in there and that'll keep it covered for you. Now it does have an integrated seal, right up here you can see, that'll seal inside the cover, help keep the elements out when it's not in use. When you close that, that seal will seal around here. It is a UV- and heat-resistant plastic construction. That's a very easy installation.
The silicone gasket on it right here, you can see it'll fit on the back here when you go to mount it. Does have a stick, you peel this off and there's sticky there and it'll stick right onto that and then you can install it. Now the hardware to install this is not included. You do mount this flush against your RV. There's no caulk needed.
This part is made in the U.S.A., but then again, just to open up, there's your coaxial cable to insert. If you have a second one, you put it right in there and then when you go to close it, just push it and it snaps shut and stays sealed. But that should do it for the review on the SmartPlug black non-metallic data port dual inlets..

Awesome product! Great company to work with. I gave it 4 stars because they only issue i see is when you plug your cables in, the cover doesn't close all the way becuase it would pinch the cables, it would be great if there was a cable pass-through on the bottom so you could close the cover and have the cables still come through. Just a notch with a rubber gasket. Food for thought.

Easy to install and hook up. I didn't have a way to run Starlink into my trailer, since it uses a proprietary cable and would require a large hole to fit it. With this plug, I can keep my Starlink modem and all the cables in a weatherproof box under my trailer.
I was concerned that the ethernet pass-through was below 1 gigabit, while my trailer's network is running 2.5 gigabits. I contacted the manufacturer and they confirmed that it supports 2.5 gigabit transfer rates.

Very nice plug, well made and looks great. I swapped the RJ-45 that came with it for one with a longer profile so I could use both the housing of the Plug and the connector to sandwich the unit to the trailer. I have an Airstream and that worked better than the shorter connecter that came with the unit. I also purchased additional RJ-45 connectors to add to the interior bulkhead that had a dust cover on it so I could cover it up if I didn't want to use it. Nice for when the trailer is at home and I want to connect to directly to my router in my home.

The product I received does not have the same center orange insert as pictured. Instead it has an orange insert with two rectangular cutouts, one of them containing the coax. This is a problem for me because I intended to remove the coax and modify the orange insert. Now I have to find and modify a piece of plastic and hope it keeps its watertight integrity.

I haven’t had a chance to use the product yet therefore I can’t comment on it. But etrailer customer service was great and the sale price was the best I see anywhere. I received the product promptly and well packed for shipping.

Does exactly what it’s supposed to do. No joke. It’s a pass through Ethernet port and guess what, it passes through your Ethernet. Can’t imagine a better product.

So far we really like the product. We have an airstream Bambi and we wanted to replace the plastic factory cable outlet with a stainless steal. Installation was very easy, I took about 15 minutes. All the factory holes aligned up and no other modifications were needed.

Great product, easy installation. Put it my camp trailer.

Very well made. Install was easy. The only thing I would improve is for the connection point to be tight, maybe glued. When tightening down the coax cable the female connector turns. Needle nose plyers did the trick.

Excellent in fit, form, and function. Utilized this to update my classic Beaver Coach to have internet installed. Just had to run a Cat 5 or Cat 6 Cable from the back of this, to a new wall port in the master suite, then I installed the router, etc after. Now I can hook up to internet at the parks, or my home easily.
