Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a quick look at this Smart Plug replacement stainless steel 50 amp RV power inlet. This inlet will replace your 50 amp 125 or 250 volt AC inlet on your RV. So you can get your RV plugged into shore power. You will need to use the 50 amp Smart Plug power cord. If you don't already have one, we do sell it separately here at etrailer.com.

You can find it using that part number that you see on the screen there. So whether you are wanting to replace your current Smart Plug inlet, or you're wanting to upgrade from the more traditional style twist type, this will align with the inlet holes. So it's gonna be very easy to get installed. They do include instructions to walk you through that whole process. So it's gonna be very easy and straightforward for you to get this installed.

Now, if you're not familiar with the benefits of the Smart Plug system, there are several. One is that because of this proprietary shape, it only goes in one direction. It's gonna be a straight plug-in so you're not gonna have to worry about trying to find the right spot to start and then twist like your older style twist type. It's gonna be very easy to just slide right in place. So even if it's dark outside, you're getting to the campground late, that sort of thing.

It's gonna be very easy for you to get this hooked up. We do have those straight nickel plated brass inlet pins there. And those are going to help maximize your transfer rather than the twist type. These are going to have about a 20 times more contact between your plugin and your inlet here. So that you're gonna have a lot less resistance with your electrical connection.

So it's not gonna heat up. It's gonna be a lot more secure for you. We also have the sleeve design here that is going to bear the weight of your cord. And if you we're to trip over it, that sort of thing, it's gonna hold on to that weight rather than putting that tension force on your pin. So your pins are gonna stay safer and more well connected for you. So you're not gonna have to worry about them wiggling out, becoming loose or damaged. Your inlet cap here is going to connect to the plug when it's plugged in. It'll kind of snap down in place there to help secure it from moving. But you're also going to have on your plug, a couple of locking tabs that will latch onto these sides here. So it's gonna have a nice secure connection for you. This steel cap will form a weatherproof seal on your inlet when you're not using that, when you don't have a cord plugged in, and then it's very easy to open back up to get your cord plugged in there. This plastic is a UV and heat resistant resin. So it's gonna hold up really well for you. Do a great job over time. So, lots of benefits to the Smart Plug systems. If you're thinking about upgrading, or if you're just needing to replace the inlet, this is gonna be a great option for you directly from Smart Plug. So everything's gonna work exactly like the original did.
