Video Transcript for Norcold Manufacturer Spotlight - RV Refrigerators

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here from etrailer and today I have Stacy from Thetford Norcold. And today we're gonna be taking a little bit closer look at the Norcold line of refrigerators that are RV specific. And what makes a fridge RV specific versus just going out to a big box store and buying a fridge Well, definitely they're especially made for RVs to fit the size and space of your RV and also, you know, special latches to keep the doors closed as you're driving. You don't want the doors swinging open and really they're a little bit customizable. We offer quite a few different sizes. We offer DC and gas absorption.

It's something with RV fridges, a lot of times people go, oh, this isn't as big or as heavy duty, I guess you'd say, as a normal commercial grade. But also that's not really the concern in an RV. You want it to be lightweight, you're not gonna have, you know, the same amount of space. But also in your RV the weight comes into play so much because of all of the contents you have really start to add up and that translates to having to tow it or drive it around extra weight. It's kind of a burden across the board.

So making it lightweight, slim, locking really fits the bill for an RV. Now with the different types, you have DC, which is seeming to be what a lot of the manufacturers are going towards, but there's also a lot of existing campers out there with propane powered and if their fridge goes out, you guys offer replacements and fridges for both different styles, correct We offer our DC line, which runs on 120 volts and then we also offer gas absorption. And the gas absorption we see as a preference for a lot of different campers. And so we're happy to be able to offer those both styles to them. And with an RV or camper fridge, a lot of times, you know, you're not running it constantly like a normal home fridge, you're shutting it down for winterization or just when you're camping you're using it and the rest of the time it's powered down.

So what are some things that people should do in those shutdown periods or if they're, you know, getting ready for the season again, what are some tips for the fridge If your fridge is experiencing any issues, it's really important to get that fridge at an ambient temperature to really run the troubleshooting on it. And then there are codes associated with those with both lines for refrigeration, the gas absorption and DC and, but the critical part, especially when you come into diagnosing those issues, is really getting it at a temperature that it's actually going to be running in. Makes sense. So then you can really get a good gauge on what's wrong. Okay, and then is, along with the larger fridges, you also offer some smaller ones as well, correct Yeah, we do.

We offer multiple sizes. I mean, we have double doors with a freezer underneath all the way to more of a cubic fridge that will fit into a very small space and has a freezer and a refrigeration area closer to something that would resemble a dorm fridge. Makes sense for like your smaller van life or things along those lines. You don't need a whole big fridge, but something with the small footprint but still the usability of it. We've learned a lot about fridges and that's the thing is when you're out camping, you wanna make sure to be able to store all of your food, drinks, whatever it may be, keep it cold, not having to get a cooler packed full of ice. I mean, you want a lot of the same comforts of home and you guys offer great refrigerators for that. So huge thanks to Stacy from Thetford Norcold for breaking that down for us and giving us a little bit of a look at the Norcold line of fridges, thank you. Thank you.
