If you've ever stepped into a camper that has standard metal steps, you've probably felt that scary springboard effect that makes you reach for the handle. That bounce occurs because those pull-out steps never touch the ground. Fold-down steps have adjustable legs that steady the steps on the ground, so you can feel safe using them. Also, fold-down steps store behind your camper door, which means they aren't left out in the elements to rust or warp like factory steps.
But what makes these MORryde steps different from other fold-down steps, like the Lippert SolidSteps? The StepAbove has a couple advantages over the SolidStep.
First, the MORryde steps can be detached when you need park your camper in tight spots. If you have to park close to another vehicle in a storage lot, for example, there might not be enough clearance to deploy your steps. With SolidStep, this means that you can't deploy the steps and now they are blocking your entryway. MORryde steps can be easily detached by sliding the pins out of the floor hinges, which allows you to lift the steps out of the doorway so you can slip inside if needed.
Second, unlike the SolidSteps which have a solid backplate on the top step, the StepAbove has no backplates blocking the gaps between each step. This makes it easy to sweep the steps free of dirt and debris before folding them up in your doorway, so you aren't stuck cleaning up your entry after every hike or trip.
Fold-down steps are typically installed on travel trailers and 5th wheels. The fold-down steps from MORryde install inside your camper's door frame and lift up to latch into the doorway for storage. To ensure that you choose the correct size for your application, follow these 3 easy steps:
Step 1: Measure the Entry Height
Measure from the doorway threshold on your camper to the ground. For these steps to work, you will need an entry height between 25" and 29".
If you find that you have a larger entry height, there are other step assemblies that fit entry heights ranging from 25" to 42". (See table below.)
Step 2: Measure the Doorway Width
Measure from the inside of your door flange to the inside of the door flange on the opposite side. Your doorway will need to be between 23-3/4" wide and 26-1/4" wide for these steps to work.
If it turns out that you have a wider or narrower doorway, there are other step assemblies that fit doorways ranging from 21-3/4" wide to 30-1/2" wide. (See table below.)
Step 3: Measure the Threshold
Measure the rise of your threshold. The distance between the floor and top of the threshold must be between 5/8" and 3/4". If the height of your threshold is outside of this range, the doors may not close properly.
To allow room for the hinge plate, there must be a gap of at least 3/8" between the threshold and the bottom of the entry and screen doors. If the gap is too narrow, the doors may not close while the steps are down.
If, after taking your camper's measurements, you find that these steps will not work for you, use the table below to determine which part number you need.

Fits a threshold-to-ground height between 25" and 29".Ordered MORryde StepAbove RV Steps for my Rpod 196. They fit perfectly! I had to make one small adjustment since on the 196 the door does not open completely due to the tire fender. For this install, the stairs are not exactly centered in the doorway, This is NOT a problem. a little adjusting of the doorway latches and it works perfectly. This is a HUGE improvement over the stock steps and we are thrilled with the sturdy steps and the additional width and depth they offer. Another thing to consider, installation is EASY! Anyone could put one of these on their RV. The hardest part of the entire job was lugging the awkward box to the trailer.
I have ordered from etrailer in the past and, as always, service and communication is superb.
Nice and solid! I did have to remove my original steps as the new ones his and would not mount correctly. No big deal! I love them!

Had the stairs for a year now. They are so solid! I will never have a trailer without them again!
I ordered the Morryde RV steps and was emailed back the next day that the steps are on backorder. I waited for almost 14 days and called to follow up on status on steps and talked to Carol from etrailer. Carol was very understanding as I mentioned that would like to get the stairs before my RV trip and she said they may not make it before the trip. Told her to keep me updated as would really like use these for this trip. It was only couple days later I received my Morryde steps and installed them. I was surprised to receive my order so fast after my call to Carol at etrailer. I didn't think I was going to have my steps in for my trip. Want to thank Carol for her quick response and turn around of the steps that were back ordered at the time of my call. Thank you Carol and etrailer!
The steps work great. They are easy to install and very sturdy.
Steps are easy to install, and afford easy entry to my RV. However I did have to cut the entry door and the screen door down so the doors would clear the threshold of the steps. Not a problem if you have the proper tools to do it with. It is a 100% improvement over the factory steps on the unit.

Steps are solid and easy to navigate. I did drill out the rivets that hold the steps in place and replaced them with pan head screws. This has nothing to do with the quality of the steps. Just something I wanted to do because I have some other plans and the screws makes it easier for me.
The steps fit perfect. Instructions included installation for both mounting panels. However, my original had the larger panel, and the instructions for the smaller panel didn't really apply. I had to measure from the hinge line to make sure I put the stairs in the correct position. I am VERY pleased with my purchase.
It was a perfect fit! No adjustment was needed. Purchased this for my 2022 Sun Park Sunray 139T. Customer service at etrailer is impressive. I was kept updated with the shipping progress and helped with my purchase. Thanks for everything!

This is a replacement step for my GeoPro 19FD. Helen was very helpful and knowlegeable about the MORyde step and camp with the one that would work best for my trailer. installation was quick and easy. As a typical man, I installed it without reading the instructions and it works great!

Installation was easy and quick with good instructions. Ingress and egress are easier and safer than with the pullout step that came with trailer. I really like the adjustable legs that support it solidly on the ground when it is deployed. The pullout step is still on the trailer, it is not in the way and didn't have to be removed. The MORyde unit does not interfere with the trailer door or screen door opening or closing. It made it safer when carrying objects in and out of our trailer. Highly recommended by us.
This review is of a MORryde StepAbove RV Steps Gen 2, ST202. As always, etrailer customer service has been great. The item shipped promptly and arrived on-time and undamaged. I am impressed with the quality of the steps.
Installation should be straight forward but it wasn't for me. I installed them in/on a 2020 Keystone Springdale Mini 1750RD and it required some adjustments. The instructions say to butt the hinge up to the threshold. Doing it this way caused the unit to be not parallel with the door frame and to hit the high spot on the threshold. I had to move it in about 1.5 inches for it to work.
The second issue I had was the screen door hit the latch plate causing it to not close evenly from top to bottom. This prevented the main door from closing at all. To fix this required cutting away a small piece of the aluminum frame of the screen door to allow it to close. With these adjustments the steps work just fine.
The steps were not quite a match for my trailer/ door, they could have been wider. I modified them to work and we have been enjoying them, anyway.
STAIRS FIT WELL AND WERE EASY TO INSTALL. MAKES GETTING IN AND OUT OF THE TRAILER MUCH EASIER. STAIRS LOCK INTO PLACE WHEN NOT IN USE. I AM VERY HAPPY WITH THE PRODUCT!
Removing the existing threshold was hardest challenged. Everything in the kit fit great. Barely had to make any adjustments. Thanks
These steps are much better than the original pull out steps. More stable to step on and easy to install
We love the stairs and easy install. The only issue was with shipping where the hinge on one side was bent. Shipping and return was easy and no problem with etrailer. Second set of steps had hinge bent as well but we were able to easily fix and was usable.
Having a full knee replacement and climbing the OER fold out steps was tricky. I had fears of slipping off and falling from the step and further complicating my knee. After installing the MORyde RV Steps I have full confidence on entering and exiting the RV. The flat sturdy step surface is a blessing. I recommend anyone especially those with limited mobility to switch. Be sure to correct size needed for you particular RV door width and height. MORyde will help with that information. Note: You can leave the old steps tucked in place.
I ordered these steps to replace the steps I ruined while pulling out with them down...and these were the exact steps that I ruined. They fit perfectly! The website was easy to nav., they were easy to order, and got here in about a week.

Its been a year of use and I can now tell you that I had issues, before buying and now I know I was right. First let me say these steps are easy to deploy and make a very ingressegress to our trailer. The negatives are when raining it is impossible to stroke without making inside trailer wet. We have rubber mat to catch drips and rags to catch liquid around steps. Having dirty steps is also a problem, but you can sweep them of. Uneven surface can add some challenges and if you get too close to and obstacle you will have problems. Overall we still like the steps and would buy again.
They are great they were easy to install. My original stairs were like a death trap, these are comfortable they work easy, store away easy and I’m totally satisfied with them.

Best thing in sliced bread. The original ones on my R-Pod were basically like a death trap. They were horrible. These steps are perfect.
I left the “StepAbove” step for our Rockwood GeoPro trailer in the down position when parking it behind our house. Bad idea.
When plowing a heavy snow fall, I caught the plow blade on the step and destroyed it.
Alex at etrailer was very helpful determining the correct model to order.
The new step arrived in a few days by UPS.
It only took 10 minutes to install the replacement “StepAbove” steps. Bravo! Thanks Alex and etrailer!!
Love the stairs! So much better and stable than the fold out ones that were original to the trailer. I took those out on a big rock in a really narrow tree lined campground. Best thing that ever happened! In a reasonably handy woman in her 50's and I installed them myself in under an hour. Great customer service.

We sold that camper in the spring, but the steps were great and the new owners were quite pleased with the upgrade!

I appreciate the assistance from Christian in ordering the correct MorRryde Step Above Rv steps. We placed the order on a Monday and received it four days later! I installed the steps the same afternoon in about an hour. The MorRryde steps make entering and exiting our trailer much safer. Very pleased with the service and the product!

Great steps! We have traveled extensively in the last year and these steps have been great. The only suggestion I would make and this is NOT a criticism is be sure to give the sliding feet mechanism a squirt of lube occasionally. I’m glad I bought these.
