If you've ever stepped into a camper that has standard metal steps, you've probably felt that scary springboard effect that makes you reach for the handle. That bounce occurs because those pull-out steps never touch the ground. Fold-down steps have adjustable legs that steady the steps on the ground, so you can feel safe using them. Also, fold-down steps store behind your camper door, which means they aren't left out in the elements to rust or warp like factory steps.
But what makes these MORryde steps different from other fold-down steps, like the Lippert SolidSteps? The StepAbove has a couple advantages over the SolidStep.
First, the MORryde steps can be detached when you need park your camper in tight spots. If you have to park close to another vehicle in a storage lot, for example, there might not be enough clearance to deploy your steps. With SolidStep, this means that you can't deploy the steps and now they are blocking your entryway. MORryde steps can be easily detached by sliding the pins out of the floor hinges, which allows you to lift the steps out of the doorway so you can slip inside if needed.
Second, unlike the SolidSteps which have a solid backplate on the top step, the StepAbove has no backplates blocking the gaps between each step. This makes it easy to sweep the steps free of dirt and debris before folding them up in your doorway, so you aren't stuck cleaning up your entry after every hike or trip.
Fold-down steps are typically installed on travel trailers and 5th wheels. The fold-down steps from MORryde install inside your camper's door frame and lift up to latch into the doorway for storage. To ensure that you choose the correct size for your application, follow these 3 easy steps:
Step 1: Measure the Entry Height
Measure from the doorway threshold on your camper to the ground. For these steps to work, you will need an entry height between 34" and 36".
If you find that you have a smaller or larger entry height, there are other step assemblies that fit entry heights ranging from 25" to 42". (See table below.)
Step 2: Measure the Doorway Width
Measure from the inside of your door flange to the inside of the door flange on the opposite side. Your doorway will need to be between 23-3/4" wide and 26-1/4" wide for these steps to work.
If it turns out that you have a wider or narrower doorway, there are other step assemblies that fit doorways ranging from 21-3/4" wide to 30-1/2" wide. (See table below.)
Step 3: Measure the Threshold
Measure the rise of your threshold. The distance between the floor and top of the threshold must be between 5/8" and 3/4". If the height of your threshold is outside of this range, the doors may not close properly.
To allow room for the hinge plate, there must be a gap of at least 3/8" between the threshold and the bottom of the entry and screen doors. If the gap is too narrow, the doors may not close while the steps are down.
If, after taking your camper's measurements, you find that these steps will not work for you, use the table below to determine which part number you need.

Sturdy RV steps adjust to rough terrain, eliminating the springboard effect and providing a wobble-free step into your camper. Easily detach for parking in a tight spot. Fits a threshold-to-ground height between 34" and 36".The MORryde StepAbove RV Steps for 23-3/4" to 26-1/4" Wide Doorways - 3 Steps came more quickly than I expected. They were easy to install and worked well. Everything including easy to follow instructions was included. I have included photos of the finished installation and we will be posting a video of the installation on our [online video], Go With the Flow Couple.
THIS MUST BE YOUR FIRST UPGRADE IF YOUR CAMPER DIDNT COME WITH THESE STEPS…
I finally got time to install it! It took more time to read the instructions (2 times to be sure) than putting them on the camper, it is like day and night, no more rocking the whole camper as you enter or exit, no more twisting the aftermarket “stabilizers” I had on my old steps, and best of all, no more wobbling when you step on it. Don’t be discouraged if at first it doesn’t look like it’s gonna work, I thought I was gonna have to shave a piece of my screen door when I first tested it because the latch wouldn’t let it close, but after I tightened all the screws to the floor it close just fine (a little snug but latched with no problem) without any modifications to the door.
This product is great, it came perfectly packed (I was a little worried as some people said theirs got bent or was missing parts), delivery was fast, and I have to give etrailer customer service 5 starts also because if they wouldn’t have answered all my questions and concerns when I was in search of these steps I probably would have never bought them. So as of today I’m a very happy customer, and absolutely recommend etrailer and it’s products for any campers needs… as for the handle for the steps ($[XX] extra) it works but not really thrilled about its looks or firmness to be used as a safety hand rail.

1 year update. Steps are holding great, I’ve made sure to re-torque the screw to make sure they stay secured to the floor. This was a great addition as my now 2 year old goes in and out the camper on her own so these steps have made it so much safer than the original that came with my rig. I still recommend them if you are in search for this type of upgrade.
StepAbove RV Steps really are a "step above". I am actually purchasing a 3-step version to replace the 2-step version that came on our trailer.
We converted the axles to overslung, so we gained about 5" in height and require the 3-step. So much do we like these steps, we didn't even consider anything different.
MORE IMPORTANTLY: etrailer HAD the STP-207 part number that we need. I originally ordered at the evil "World". They had it $20 less expensive and SAID on the 20th of June that they would ship on the 21st.
When I canceled the order at "Evil World", it was STILL BACKORDERED INDEFINITELY, yet the "World" had ALREADY taken FULL payment.
etrailer did not take my money until it shipped... which was SAME DAY and it arrived 2 days later including the day I ordered it, which was 2 days EARLY.
I'll be an etrailer guy first from now on.

Precisely the product we needed, and no surprise.... It works as intended, and the install was flawless!
An absolute game changer for getting in and out of the trailer. Worth every penny. Easy to install, easy to remove if needed.

After a year, I would say that these steps are still a game changer.
Solid build and quality, but poor design. For the good qualities, see the "ultimate overview" video from etrailer. All the points are accurate and provide a good representation of the stairs. The bad is the stair rise/run - the 9" rise (more like 10" from the threshold/hinge plate to the top step) is too much, and is difficult for anyone a little unstable on their feet, or children, to negotiate. In addition, the horizontal gap, open space, between the front of the steps to the rear of the next step down (viewed from above) is 3"! I have rolled my ankle several times as I've turned while on the stairs and put my foot partially into that gap. My grandchildren have also slipped and put their leg through the stair gap. I've had the steps for a year, and unfortunately, these are the only ground-supported steps that etrailer sells that will fit my trailer dimensions. I will continue to look for stairs that have a safer pitch that will also fit my camper. These are dangerous, in my opinion, in their current design. I wasn't planning to do a negative review, but got the "1 year" followup email from etrailer asking about the steps, and was just commenting on the steps during our last camping trip this past weekend!
etrailer is great to work with, just disappointed with this stairs design.

While I am sorry to hear this option isnt working out the best, I really appreciate you taking the time to write this review. I think there will be others who will be interested in your perspective and your insight will help people make an informed decision for their needs. Thanks again!
Installation was simple. I watched the videos 3 times but still figured out a better way for myself. It's perfect! The cane bolts ARE tight. But. I had 7 inch long reach Allen wrenches ..a tad smaller/looser. Use permanently or just as a lineup guide or place holder then insert the original.

I couldnt have bought THIS camper without the option of these steps because of where its stored. Still working out the way I needed it to. I have added a side rail for safety. Couldnt do without THAT either. Although if I was inventing it I would make some serious changes. But it works as it is. Thank you.
This was an awkward situation. A car ran into the side of my RV while parked at camp and destroyed the stock fold down steps. I was due to leave in a couple days. The one and only RV shop in the region said a minimum of $600 and at least six weeks to repair. I contacted eTrailer and they recommended these steps at a very attractive price. They assured me self install was well within my skill set. The steps arrived in three days despite the upcoming 4th of July holiday. Installation was as easy as they had said. At first I didn't think I was going to like them as they folded up into the doorway, but it was a quick adjustment. They are so much more stable than the old steps and the wider top step is a real plus. I wish I had made the change years ago. I was able to get back on the road with only one day delay instead of six weeks. etrailer to the rescue again! Now that a year has passed, the steps are still working great and I am very happy with the results. The adjustment wasn't nearly as bad as I had anticipated.
We received this product within 3 days of our steps breaking and needing replaced ASAP. Very easy to install. Happily recommend if in need for other RV replacements.
These steps were on backorder when I placed my order. They did arrive shortly thereafter, and were a total pleasure to install. Easy Peasy! Great product, great seller, and a great experience!

That is so great to hear! Thanks for sending in the pictures, too -- where did you find that fun summery mat? I think I need on for my door step.
Like stairs, works great, may need to adjust screen door or door for clearance
Wrong size - would be better if they told us which models fit which rv rather than make us take lots of measurements. Also steps delivered were warped and fixings seemed not very rigid and secure
Steps are a great improvement over the standard fold outs. The leg adjustments are super simple to operate as well.
I may want to add some pool noodles between the door frame and steps while traveling as they do wobble a bit in the stored position. I would highly reccomend this upgrade
Great upgrade from the hanging factory steps, very sturdy and well worth the upgrade. Did have to dig thru the box to find the screws though.
The steps were the best price and add on to my trailer. Easy to install yourself and great for stability when you have all the kids going in and out
No hardware or instructions with item. Difficult to close trailer door after steps installed; top edge of steps scrapes bottom of door.
The installation was a breeze. Fifteen minutes and we had it installed and ready to go.
I have been completely satisfied with these steps. Haven't done much camping with them yet but I like the adjustability with the 3 step design, install was super easy. So much better than the old rickety steps that came on it factory.
Entrance steps worked out great on my Grand Design RV !
Pretty sure if I can install these, almost anyone should be able too! We had thought about replacing our factory pull out steps for about a year. The last camp trip of loose, squeaky, unstableness convinced us it was time. I've looked at two different brands, and the optioned pin removal of these MORryde steps (in case of little access), along with the ease of adjusting the feet were a big plus and the deciding factor! Having etrailer provide how to videos along with the customer support team is a huge benefit too! I couldn't be happier with this purchase (all aspects), the quality of the steps, how quickly they arrived, and the overall ease of installation. Thank you etrailer for another GR8 experience, and product!
Easy to install. Love our new steps. Have had knee replacement and so much easier with new steps. Very sturdy.

Still great
We bought a 2022 camper that had the “pull-out” steps on it. We really wanted to swap to these, as they are SO much convenient in that they fold right up into the camper door. I kept racking my knuckles on the old ones when pulling them out, and sometimes even when putting them back in place, but not with these!! We love them!!
Love this step. I installed myself with only issue being screen door not wanting to close after install. Grinder bottom frame of screen door and it works great now. One of the best additions yet to our 5th wheel!
Easy to install, great product. I suggest watching a couple youtube videos on measuring prior to purchase and watch for install. So much nicer than the fold out steps that came with the RV. They had a dent in them but clearly was rough handling by UPS
Amazing how much more stable these steps are over the OEM steps. Installation was very easy. Made sure I met all measurement requirements before ordering the correct model which always makes the difference.
Very sturdy. No slips or falls
Do you have a question about this RV Step?
Condition: Surface Scratches
Notes: There are slight cosmetic scratches on the surface of the steps as well as a couple of bent corners. This is otherwise new and unused.

We are still enjoying the Step Above Steps. We added an Extended Reach fold away handle which made it very easy to use for our 92 year young mother. If I purchased again I would get the one with the hydraulic assist.
