Revolutionary Stability

TorkLift's GlowStep Revolution RV steps offer the ultimate in stability and adjustability. You can adjust the stairs' height to account for any type of terrain using the easy-to-use release lever. The built-in landing gear legs let you fine-tune the height. And they can be adjusted independently of one another to stabilize the steps on uneven terrain, eliminating any wobble.

Will Torklift GlowStep Revolution Scissor Steps Work for You?

Pull-out steps are typically installed on travel trailers. The GlowStep Revolution pull-out steps from Torklift are easy to install and fold up underneath the camper for simple storage. To ensure you choose the correct size for your application, there are a few measurements you will need to take.

Revolution Mounting

The GlowStep Revolution pull-out scissor steps attach to the underside of the camper chassis, directly beneath the doorway. To decide which size you'll need, locate the space available underneath your camper that lines up with the doorframe, and measure the width and depth. You will need a mounting space that is at least 27-1/2" wide and 13-7/8" deep.

If it turns out you have less space beneath your doorway, there are smaller step assemblies available with 25-1/2" wide brackets. A full list of the available steps is below.

Outrigger RV Steps

Outriggers - metal brackets that act as an extension (LC301704 - sold separately) - may be needed for installation depending on the model of your original stairs. These provide extra length if the old steps are longer or wider than the new.

Once you know where the mounting bracket will go and what size mounting bracket you need, that spot will be used as the "mounting point" to determine how many steps you will need.

How Many Steps Do You Need?

Revolution Entry Height

To determine how many steps you'll need, measure from the mounting point to the ground. This is called the entry height. The entry height should roughly match the height of the steps when they're fully extended, and it will tell you how many steps you need.

The chart below displays entry height measurement ranges in the first column. If you determined you need a 25-1/2" mounting bracket, the step part numbers with that width are in the second column. If you determined you need a 27-1/2" mounting bracket, the step part numbers with that width are in the third column. Choose the bracket size that is closest to your measurements without going over.

This page's step assembly is in bold text.

How Do You Install the Steps?

To install the steps:

  1. Make sure the camper is level on flat ground
  2. Lift the steps into the mounting space and prop into place

-Fully extend steps until feet touch the ground

  3. If needed, mark the mounting holes on the camper and drill

    -Set aside steps before drilling

  4. If needed, install the outriggers
  5. Align step mounting holes and secure in place with carriage bolts and flange lock nuts

-Make sure the bracket is backed up fully against the I-beam on the chassis

    -Hardware not included

  6. Tighten hardware until snug
  7. Make sure assembly is sitting square and level
  8. Torque the hardware tight

GlowStep Accessories

Torklift Accessories

Add any of these accessories to your Revolution scissor steps for stability, eliminating gaps, and keeping your steps and RV interior clean. The GlowGuide handrail (TLA7621 - sold separately) attaches to the outside of your RV and a bracket on the bottom of the steps. This helps to steady the assembly and adds 25 lbs to the weight capacity of the stairs. The SafeStep vinyl barrier (TLA7602 - sold separately) easily fastens with Velcro strips in between any 2 steps. This prevents you or your pets from accidentally slipping between steps. The DirtDestroyer boot brush (TLA7603 - sold separately) affixes to the bottom of the steps so you can scrape your shoes before climbing into your RV.

I can't believe how fast the delivery was... only 2 days... had them installed in about an hour by myself... instructions were very good and plenty of supplied hardware.... Thank you so much !!! I has supplied photos of the completed work... please note that the Roo is sitting in my sloping driveway with the hitch all the way to the ground and the rear is as high as it would EVER be... so these are the perfect fit. I also want to thank Dave Osterstuck at Anglin RV in Otto NC who had these steps on display. Dave had to have me go direct to Torklift in order to purchase this product. It is a shame that the rep put these on display in his store but he is not able to reach the rep or order from the rep catalog so he gets nothing from Torklift for carrying the display. Kudos to Dave at Anglin RV

Traded the trailer in for a new one about a month later… we do miss those steps on our new trailer…

by:

Installation - husband and wife over 60 were able to remove old steps and install new one in just over an hour!! We were able to install using a small floor jack at our RV storage area. Probably would have been easier to install in our driveway and not on the dirt. Just so excited to get rid of the old saggy steps.

Excellent - cant say enough good things about these steps. So easy to take down and our away sturdy going up and down easy to see at night - but most of all, our 2 3 legged rescue dogs have no problem going up and down these stairs. So glad we found them!!

by:

We had gotten tired of the retractable steps that came with our camper. The rivets were always breaking and it always felt bouncy when you stepped on them. We thought about the fold in kind of steps, but didn't like the idea of whatever was on the steps getting inside the camper. Found the revolution scissor steps online and bought them. They were pretty easy to install. just unbolted the old ones and with a long socket extension bolted the new ones in place. We used them all last season and are now out again this camping season. I really like that they adjust for differing ground heights and they always feel solid when we use them. We are very pleased with them.

by:

We really love these steps on our camper. It took a little bit to get them on the camper. I had to take the old steps out and disconnect the steps from the box and then cut the bottom half of the box off. I then could put the top of the box on top of the new steps and mount them under the trailer. it sounds kind of like a redneck way to put them on but it worked out well.

@Roger We're glad to hear that your # TLA8003 TorkLift GlowSteps are working well for you!

by:

These steps weren't our first choice -- we wanted the "big name" ones that fold up inside the door. But we have an inside stepdown and those wouldn't fit, so we got these. Boy are we GLAD that we did! They were super simple to install. These are just as stable as any others we've been on but so much easier to stow and use. And, if we do get them muddy, they are now outside the trailer instead of inside, like the ones we originally wanted, whew, dodged a bullet there!

Like most dogs, ours are a bit wary of the 'see through' risers but they find these so firm and steady that they use them readily (unlike the free-hanging steps that came with the trailer). Highly recommend!!!!

Great set of steps. Solid contact with the ground eliminating spring and movement. Customer service very helpful and prompt.

Working fine. Great steps, both solid and adjustable.

by:

Excellent steps. No bounce, easy to deploy. We also got a larger handle for the side of the camper. The wife is a bit of a clutz, and she now loves the steps compared to the stock unit.

by:

I’m glad I decided to get these. Very stable for getting in and out of the camper especially at night. Not cheap but neither is falling out of the camper.

It works great and very stable. One thing is I had to order an additional stair cause although it worked fine on level ground most campsites slope down and it was never long enough. So if in doubt order the 4 step in the first place.

this unit looks like it will be a wonderful addition to my trailer

after a year and several camping trips i am very happy with these steps. Well worth the money spent.

by:

Very easy install. 4 bolts to remove and replace. Used a floor jack and removed old and put in the new steps. Very sturdy, comfortable and easy to use.

by:

1 hour to install, awesome steps, no more tilt on trailer as with the old steps. Easy install. I wish I would have done years ago.

by:

An amazing difference from the standard steps that bounced every time we entered the trailer! I realize newer models have these as standard features, but our case warranted an upgrade (2018 Shadow Cruiser). Installation was straightforward and once you get the technique of lowering and retracting steps, you won't regret!

I wanted stairs that are strong, reliable, and useful everywhere I might need them (or not). Fold-out and SolidStep designs both require too much compromise. Fold-outs can be used anywhere, but aren't strong and stable. SolidSteps are strong and stable, but don't work with tight parking or sharp slopes (like the steep shoulder of a causeway when you're parked in an emergency), and they block your door if you don't open them. Anything that blocks access under unknown conditions is a deal-breaker.

The GlowStep Revolution was the most expensive option, but it's the only one that met all my requirements. They're strong and stable, supported by the ground, flexible for height and uneven terrain, with a high weight rating, and they fold into the space under the door. They do this while being slightly lighter and smaller than my original stairs. I'd never seen this "accordion" style before. It feels a little weird, but it's fast and easy. I won't have any trouble training my family.

They're more expensive than other options, but if they are as reliable as the manufacturer says, then they'll be worth every penny.

My installation required the additional A8022 bracket.

These are still working great on my trailer. My family appreciates the stability of our stairs everywhere we go. Unfortunately, if the ground slopes wrong, I wish I had the 4th step. Fortunately, the design is modular, so I can add it when were ready. I am glad I bought these over any other option.

by:

The steps came in as promised and was easy installation. a Little more elaborate than the usual factory install but is nice and traction is good. There are a couple of steps that require more strength than the factory steps that just fold down. This requires a latch to be released then the steps, folded up, drop down. then it requires you to pull out the steps before setting them on the ground. If i was 80 with a sore back, i would not recommend these steps.

OK. its much harder to put up with each use and seems to always need adjusting. Nice when its set up but can be unstable at times depending on the ground conditions. Ill give it a B

by:

Love these steps for several reasons:
1.
Easy to install
2. Stay outside. No dirt and water inside like other stability steps
3. Helps stabilize the camper bounce
4. Can change the size by removing or adding a step when you change rigs.
And service from e-trailer was fast when we needed to add a step when we upgraded our TT.

I`m a 74 year old man. I installed these steps by myself in approximately 30 minutes using a floor Jack. What I like about these steps is they can be used in tight spaces. My RV storage building has very little room on the sides however, these steps works. In small a space.

These steps are still great. Watch what you buy. Some steps take up room inside your camper & put dirt inside your camper. Also some steps wont fold out in tight places.

by:

Love this step. Super stable and generally simple to fit to my trailer. Even though it is a wider one than recommended by the manufacturer. If you take good measurements of your mounting location you can determine what will fit. I uploaded a video of my installation process as well.

Highly recommended.

Still great. Excellent upgrade.

by:

A very high quality product in both material and workmanship! Very easy to install, it probably only took about 45 minutes from starting removal of the old step and installing the Glow Step. A floor jack is very helpful if doing the job alone as neither to old or new steps are very light.

Love them, took a little trip to Alaska after installing them. Lots of people wanted to talk about them and where I got them.

by:

Light and very sturdy steps! Excellent design and build quality. The installation was a breeze... I did the 3 step version on my 2011 Raptor 300MP. I highly recommend these steps.

by:

The bolts of my factory steps had come loose and even when working, the bottom step was very close to the ground. Rather than just repairing the old steps, I decided to go for an upgrade. At first I shopped for a Morryde replacement, but I didn't love that Morryde style steps fold up inside the coach. Then I found these TorkLift steps.

I have been really happy with these steps. The installation was straight forward and they offer adjustments that work on uneven ground or even when there is someone parked pretty close by (ike in storage). They are very stable and reasonably easy to deploy and stow.

Long story short, I have been really happy with these steps and would install them again if I had it do over.

by:

Can’t say enough good about these steps.
Everything
you’ve read about them in all of the good reviews is true.
Installation was easy!
I find myself unnecessarily cringing (from habit) when I step out of or start to enter our trailer!!
There is no longer any reason to cringe!!

I love my TorkLift steps. I bought them late last year and used them this summer for the first time and they are great. I removed the old steps and installed the TorkLift steps in about an hour by myself. I used a floor jack to remove the old steps and to position the new steps in the right place. The TorkLift steps bolted right into place.

Using them this summer was excellent. I bought them to solve 2 problems. First, I have a bad knee and the regular RV steps have too much of a rise (about 9 inches) so it's painful to step up that high. The TokLift steps 7 inch rise is much easier on my knee. And, you can adjust the top step in one of 3 positions to adjust the spacing based on how far you are from the ground. This was helpful too in getting just the right spacing between the steps.
Second, I was tired of my camper bouncing like crazy when someone walked on the old RV steps. They were like a diving board. No such problem with the TorkLift steps because they securely rest on the ground.

The only negative thing I will say is that if the distance between the bottom of the camper and the ground is large, the steps will lean forward making it feel like you're walking downhill when descending the steps. But, other than that they are great and are extremely well made. I've gotten many comments on how nice they are from friends and other campers. I highly recommend the TorkLift GlowStep steps.

by:

I replaced an unsafe broken set of steps. I found a YouTube video for my camper that explained how to get access to the 4 bolts holding the original steps. Having read through the instructions twice, I had no significant issues installing the new unit. I substituted a bottle jack and a 2x4 for a second pair of hands to get the frame pushed into place and hold it while I inserted the bolts. It took about two hours from start to finished. These steps are sturdy and safe. I was anxious about delivery after 3 weeks although status emails helped. As did the fact that my credit card was not charged until the day the item shipped. It is expensive but it seems to be a very quality product. I'm looking forward to many years of service from them.

by:

This is the second Glow that Step we have purchased for two different trailers. The factory "bouncy" that come with most travel trailers are terrible and a waste of steel. The Glow Step is a very well made in USA product that has unlimited adjustments and always is solid on the ground when deployed. We have two Labrador retrievers That actually climb the steps without any problems. We can see the steps at night and when traveling they stow up nice and tight.

by:

It's difficult to open and close. Too many adjustments to get right. I just want to put the steps down and this is more frustrating than it needs to be. I wish we hadn't spent all this money.

Each one of the steps of the TorkLift GlowStep Revolution Scissor Steps # TLA8003 that you referenced is 8 inches deep and there are three of the steps so it would stick out a total of 24 inches give or take a few inches. The reason I say "give or take a few inches" is because this is a scissor step which means that the higher the vertical distance the steps come down the further out they will go as they extend.

  • Determining Correct TorkLift GlowStep Revolution Scissor Steps For 2012 Rockwood 9312SS
I would be happy to help you figure out the correct TorkLift GlowStep Revolution Scissor Steps for your 2012 Rockwood 8312SS, but unfortunately I do not have a list that has the correct step for your trailer. To determine the correct steps you will need to take a few measurements, with the first being the dimensions of the mounting space for the steps under the door of your trailer. There are two different widths offered which are 25-1/2" wide like the # TLA8104, or 27-1/2" wide like the...

  • Recommended Replacement Triple Steps for ATC Trailer
While we do have some step solutions for you, none of the traditional style steps have the top step level with the mounting brackets when they are pulled out and/or a bracket mounting width of 29" wide (which is much wider than normal). For your application I recommend either going with the TorkLift GlowStep Revolution Uprising Steps, part # TLA9103 for a 24" width between door frame hinges or part # TLA9003 for 28" width between door frame hinges, OR the TorkLift GlowStep Revolution Scissor...

  • Fit of TorkLift TLA8003 GlowSteps on 2013 Cougar MKS333 5th Wheel
the TorkLift # TLA8003 GlowSteps are designed for 25-1/2 to 36 inch entry height. The mounting bracket assembly is 27-1/2 inches wide and 13-7/8 inches deep. If the well for the stairs on your Cougar MKS333 5th wheel fits those parameters, the # TLA8003 steps would be a great choice for you. I've liked a demonstration video for the steps that you can check out.

  • Handrails and Steps That Will Improve Handicap Access Into a Pull Behind Camper.
Yes, something like the Lend-a-Hand Extra Large Folding Grab Handle # AM-533 can replace the original grab handle to make it easier to get in and out. The best thing would be to replace the steps with some like the TorkLift GlowStep Revolution Scissor Steps w/ Landing Gear # TLA8003. These steps are designed to telescope all the way to the ground(door height of 25-1/2" - 36"), which makes the first step solid versus the bounce that you will normally feel with retractable steps. You can...

  • Can Electric Steps On A 1998 Country Coach Magna Be Replaced With Manual Pull-Out Steps
To determine if there's a manual pull-out step that will fit your 1998 Country Coach Magna you'll need to measure the entry height and bracket width. The entry height is the space from the ground up to the mounting bracket for your steps. The bracket width is simply the total width of the brackets. Once we know these dimensions we can see if there's a matching fit with either a standard pull-out step like part # LC432682 or with one like TorkLift's GlowStep # TLA8003 that comes with adjustable...

  • How Far Out Will the TorkLift GlowStep Revolution Scissor Steps Extend Out From an RV
Each one of the steps on the TorkLift GlowStep Revolution Scissor Steps w/ Landing Gear (4-step) # TLA8004 is 8 inches deep. So for 4 steps, it would extend approximately 32". The reason I say approximately is because this is a scissor step which means that the higher the vertical distance the steps come down the further out they will go as they extend. The TorkLift GlowStep Revolution Scissor Steps w/ Landing Gear (3 step) # TLA8003 would extend approximately 24".

  • Will the SolidStep Manual Fold-Down Steps Work On a Cardinal 5th Wheel With Step-Up
I do have an option but the only way to confirm fit of the SolidStep Manual Fold-Down Steps like part # LC698799 on a trailer with a step-up directly behind the door would be to test fit. I don't think fit would be able to be accurately determined beforehand by measuring. There is a bracket which positions the bulk of the step up from the door sill but it could still not be enough to overcome the step-up. Instead, I think a much better option would be the TorkLift GlowStep Revolution Scissor...

  • TorkLift GlowStep Revolution Scissor Steps for a 2019 Open Range Ultra Lite 2802BH
The TorkLift GlowStep Revolution Scissor Steps w/ Landing Gear - 3 Steps - 27-1/2" Base # TLA8003 is the correct choice for your 2019 Open Range Ultra Lite 2802BH. The 1/8" difference that you are seeing in the base width isn't enough that this kit won't fit and this is designed for an entry height range of 25-1/2" - 36" so it is perfect for your 31" entry height that you measured. Attached is a review video for you to check out.
