You might not think of it, but a simple circuit tester can really save you from wasting your time and spare you a lot of aggravation. After your long journey to the campsite, before you do anything else, plug this circuit tester into the power pedestal and find out if you need to request a new site. It's not uncommon to find faulty wiring, especially at older campsites. Checking the power supply first will save you the headache finding out later that there are problems with the power outlet forcing you to pack up and move to a new location.
A good circuit tester can detect the most common electrical issues you might run into, letting you know if it's safe to plug in your RV. If both green LEDs light up, you're good to go.
The key on the face of the surge protector will let you know about the presence of 6 other conditions, including "no power," reversed polarity, and open neutral. Regardless of the error you encounter, you'll want to get a new site and inform management of the situation.

Hi everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com and today we're gonna take a look at this Mighty Cord RV circuit tester for 30 amp outlets. This circuit tester will plug into your 30 amp outlet at your campsites power or pedestal and will identify wiring problems. The LEDs are going to illuminate in different patterns to indicate if power is steady or if there is a problem. And as you can see here you're going to be able to easily compare the LED lights to the legend that's right here on the front of this tester and it's going to be able to determine up to five errors. So you're gonna be able to, at a glance see what's going on with your outlet.
And let me go ahead and while we're here give you some overall dimensions just so you have a good idea of the size of this tester. So the overall height, we are sitting right at four inches tall. And the overall width here at the widest point, we're sitting pretty close to two and a half inches wide. And then the overall depth, including the prongs here, we are sitting pretty close to two inches deep. And as you can see this includes a very convenient carrying case.
Let me go ahead and unzip this real quick. So you've got a zipper that goes around all three sides and that's going to be able to conveniently carry this for you and it's pretty protected in there. It's got some nice padding and a cutout for the tester so that tester's going to fit right into place and then you can just zip this shut. And so this is going to keep it protected and like I said, pretty good padding on this. So I don't think you're gonna have to worry about this getting damaged at all.
The overall height, we're sitting right at about three and a half inches tall. The overall width at the widest points, let me lay it down like this, it might be a little bit easier to measure here. We're sitting right at about five and three quarters inches wide. And then the overall length, we are sitting pretty close to, oh, about four and a quarter, not counting the little strap here, about four and a quarter inches long. So it's a nice compact unit.
This case is really nice that you can just throw it in the, in your RV or in a vehicle or something and it's going to keep that tester protected. So this is gonna work with your 125 volt systems. And again, this is going to be for 30 amp outlets. And if you are looking for one that's going to work with a 50 amp outlet, we do have a version of this available for 50, testing 50 amp outlets. So if that's something that you're interested in, in combination with the 30 amp or instead of the 30 amp tester, I am including our item number for that circuit tester for 50 amp outlets there on your screen. And you can just take the item number and put it in the search field of our website and it'll take you to that 50 amp version. Instructions are included with this and that's going to conclude our brief look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
