How to Measure Your TV for VESA Mounting Patterns

VESA is an industry standard for measurements given in millimeters used to mount TVs. Most modern TVs use this standard, but you need to know your TV's mounting pattern to select the correct mount. To find this pattern, use a ruler to measure the distance between mounting holes on the back. You can measure in centimeters, keeping in mind that 10cm equals 100mm.

This diagram illustrates the compatible VESA mounting patterns of this RV TV mount:

If your TV's mounting pattern requires a different configuration, you can use one of MORryde's TV mount adapter plates (MR43ZR - sold separately) to get the right fit. The plates are installed on the mount to adapt for TVs that call for a 300mm x 300mm or 400mm x 400mm VESA pattern. Be mindful of the mount's weight limitations.

Video Transcript for Let’s Check Out the MORryde RV TV Wall Mount

Hey everybody, I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com and we're taking a quick look at the MORryde Fixed TV Wall Mount. This is gonna be a way to mount your TV in your RV to the wall. Give it a nice sturdy spot to make sure that it's not gonna have any issues with falling. It does have a max load capacity of 50 pounds. So as long as your TV is less than that, should be good fit for you. It's gonna be pretty simple to be put on the wall.

You're gonna have this piece that actually gets mounted up to the wall, and then this flat piece that goes onto your TV. As you can see, there's all kinds of predrilled holes in this bracket. So, no matter what kind of bolt pattern your TV has on the back, this should be able to fit it. So, lets take a little closer look. This is a VESA mount.

So it will work again, with all kinds of different mounting patterns. It's got three different compliant mounting patterns and a whole mess of hardware to get you installed. So, again, no matter what you're working with, you should be able to find something, to match with your TV. But, again, basically once you have this plate mounted up, on the TV, this is just gonna go over the top. So I'm just threading these bolts out.

So I can show you basically, how that works. So these two bolts, and then one at the bottom. Take those out. So, this is mounted to your wall. This narrow piece.

You mount this guy to your TV. And then once it's all in place, you just take this on your TV, the whole thing and kind of rotate it on top of that mount. And it should stay there just fine. And then you can secure it with that hardware that you just saw me remove. So we'll have two bolts on either side and then one bolt on the bottom. So, you should be able to have access to kinda get to those bolts behind the TV and underneath to get that installed. It just takes a Phillips head screwdriver to get those in place. And that's pretty much all there is to it. I will give you a couple measurements, so you can get an idea of how big this plate is. So for the TV bracket, its about eight and 7/8th inches wide. And then, about 11 and an 1/8th inch tall. The depth, find a good spot here, is about 7/8ths inches. And then our wall bracket is about two and a quarter. And about 11 and quarter inch tall. And right about an inch deep. I know it's hard for you to see any of those measures, on my tape measure on any of those. So, I hope that gives you an idea, I won't give you all the distances between all these mounting holes just 'cause there's so many. So, I don't wanna take up too much of your time going over all that. But I think between what you got, as far as the pre drilled holes, definitely should be able to fit something in there, for just about any kind of TV or wall that you might have. That's pretty much it for our quick look at the MORryde Fixed TV Wall Mount. I hope this video's been helpful in deciding if this is the right choice for you. We do have a lot of other accessories for your RVs here at etrailer.com, so be sure to check them out. And thanks for watching..

A much more user friendly mounting bracket than what the RV manufacturer used. This Bracket comes with a large variety of hardware to mount the bracket and attach to the TV. The use of a 3/8 nut driver chuck on a drill made the installation very quick and solid. As usual the eTrailer service is second to non and shipping was quick.

This TV mount is much more effective than I would have thought based on the pictures. The design is both simple and rugged. I've mounted many TVs and never done the job with less hassle.

  • Rattling TV Wall Mount in Winnebago Journey
Yes, the MORryde Wall RV TV Mount - Fixed item # MR28ZR has a lot of movement in it based on how you have to install it. I have linked a video and if you watch it around the 1:44 mark you will see how the top connection point between the wall mount and the tv bracket is a simple hinge that is not bolted together like the bottom. This will provide a lot of side by side movement that causes rattling when your Winnebago is driving down the road. Throughout the video you can hear it rattling...

  • Installation Tips For A TV Mount On The Exterior Of A 2019 Keystone Passport Grand Touring East
Hey Richard, Even with a fiberglass wall you would still have some studs that you can shoot some mounting screws through to fully secure the tv mount # MR28ZR and tv. You can pick up a stud finder from your local hardware store and use it to find a stud in the wall and plan where to place the tv. You'll want to place some butyl tape # AL28FJ on the back of the bracket to help prevent water from leaking in through the screw holes. You can also go over the screw heads with some sealant #...
