Ideal for Part-Time RVers

When you're taking your RV on the road for weeks at a time, you'll want to make sure your toilet can handle that long a journey. This toilet is built for part-time RVers who use their RV more frequently than just on the weekends. It's just as tall as a standard residential toilet, so it's easy to sit down on and get up from. The ceramic bowl is more durable and easier to clean than a plastic bowl. And the lid closes slowly, so it won't loudly slam against the rim. This toilet provides the durability and ease of use needed for your long RV adventures.

Measure to Fit

RV toilet rough in measurement

There's one measurement you should double check to see if this toilet will easily fit into your bathroom. The rough-in measurement is the minimum distance you'll need from the wall to the center of the flange on which the toilet will sit. To measure this distance without uninstalling your current toilet, the mounting bolts on the side will typically tell you where the center of the flange is. You may want to triple check if your toilet has an offset flange or 4-bolt mounting style.

The Dometic 310 Series RV toilet has a rough-in measurement of 10". If your rough-in measurement is less than 10", select a toilet model with a lower requirement or consider alterations to make it fit. Keep in mind the overall dimensions of the toilet, and measure for yourself to pick the best model for an easy DIY upgrade.

Huge improvement! We purchased this to replace a Dometic 300. We could not locate the foul smell in our RV until we learned that it was the 300 had a defective gasket! Instead of replacing it, we ordered the 310.
No more smell! The 300 had a lot of nasty "liquid" in it!
The 310 is so much nicer, we love the slow-close lid and porcelain bowl.
Installation took 10 minutes! Thank you, E-trailer!

I purchased this toilet one year ago. I installed it myself after watching a you tube video. I had a little trouble with the rubber gasket that seals water in the toilet. I needed to get a new rubber gasket, but other than that the toilet works great, and I love the slow close lid. I believe it is lighter than the factory toilet so that helps with additional weight in the RV.

by:

We love everything about this toilet except the flush valve seal ring. When I installed the toilet the ring didn’t seal; it would not hold water despite my doing everything Dometic recommended for a new install. Etrailer sent me a new seal ring, and that worked, for a few months. Then it would not hold water again, so I replaced it again. I’ve replaced it one more time since, and I carry spare seals now. It’s an easy fix, but annoying to have to deal with. Clearly the seal is not designed and/manufactured correctly. In spite of the issue, I still like the toilet, and etrailer was easy to work with on the 1st seal replacement.

by:

The toilet (310 model) in our 5th wheel needed to be replaced after 7 years. I found exactly what I needed at a great price. Shipping was quick and I already have the new toilet in and it is perfect.

by:

The product looks amazing. I haven't actually tried it yet, but the installation went seamlessly. E-trailer has been my go to place for trailer parts.

by:

This toilet will not hold water since I purchased. I've taken the gasket out and cleaned the flapper, gasket and bowl where it is inserted several times. Can you send me a gasket replacement

I reached out to the manufacturer and they advised it does sound like it needs repairs. I will send you the link to their website that can show you repair centers that are close to you.

by:

This toilet is so much studier than the cheaply made 300 series one that came in my 2019 Springdale travel trailer that leak between seals and smelled

by:

Great product. I'm a Mobile RV Tech and I've installed many of these Dometic 310 toilets for my customers as well as my own RV. E-trailer gets it there quick and the product works great.

by:

Only needed 1 simple change to the existing plumbing and it fits perfectly.

Great! Foot flush is much easier for us older folks. Easier to dump buckets when flushing the tanks.

@Steven That's great to hear. Glad to hear you have something to go on...

by:

It was easy to install but I wish the base design was a bit different. It is really difficult to see the base floor bolts in order to loosen or tighten them. Other than that, I love the toilet. The soft close lid makes me laugh because any little vibration will set the close feature. I prefer to think that it is a MAJIC lid!

by:

The Dometic 310 toilet replaced the Thetford toilet in our 2011 fifth wheel. I like that the water flushes from all around the top of the rim instead of just the back. Keeps the bowl much cleaner. When it's time to change the ball seal we can do that from the top of the bowl instead of having to remove the whole toilet to replace the seal. A great upgrade.

by:

Great toilet, just wish the elongated bowl (320 series, I think) would have fit. The 310 feels solid, much better than the plastic factory model.

by:

Love this commode, so much better than the small standard one that was in our trailer when we bought it. So easy to install! Took about 30 minutes at the most.

by:

much better than the stinky 300. I like the slow closing lid and the stability of the 310.

by:

Really happy with this toilet. My last Dometic toilet leaked and smelled really bad as it was a two piece toilet and allowed waste to leak into the hollow parts of the toilet. This does not have the same design and has bee solid, feels much better (sturdier) than a plastic unit and good height. This is a must do if you have the older 300 series units.

by:

I needed a new toilet, ordered a replacement from etrailer and it got delivered quickly. It was in perfect shape. I viewed their installation video and installed it today. Well, it was as easy to install as they said and it worked perfectly. I’m extremely happy with this transaction. Thanks etrailer for another great experience.

by:

Replaced an older Dometic toilet. This one only took about 15 minutes to install and works great. Shipping was fast by UPS and product arrived in excellent condition.

by:

The toilet is taller than a regular RV toilet and it is made a lot better. I would buy this unit again.

by:

Previously had the all plastic bowl, the 310 with both seats being soft close is pretty fancy stuff. You sit slightly higher which is more comfortable. Good product altogether, I would recommend this model RV toilet

by:

The rubber seal in the bottom of the bowl failed so it wouldn't hold water in the bowl. Also the valve in the back let's a little water continually flow into the bowl.

Gosh, I am sorry to hear that! Leaky toilets are no fun. These do have a two year warranty that come with them, and I went ahead and sent you that information.

by:

Very sturdy, well built and quiet. Works very well, It did develop a leak after a year of use, which ended up being the flush valve, it was a cheap and easy repair, even bought a spare to carry with us.

by:

Everything as promised, everything works as it should

by:

Did my research, choose this one, received it in a timely manor, installed it,used it last season, very please with it all!!! Ordering, communication was great, product is great, all is good!

by:

Purchased the Dometic 310 last summer. I was replacing a older, more basic model. The new toilet works great. Happy with the purchase.

  • Will the Dometic 310 Part-Timer RV Toilet Work to Replace a Thetford RV Toilet
I am not sure which Thetford RV Toilet you have as they offer several but all you need to do is find your rough-in measurement which is the distance from the center of the flange to the wall, you can either measure or find your model number and look this up online. The Dometic 310 Part-Timer RV Toilet part # DOM57FR fits a rough-in of 10" or more but not less.

Thank you for providing those measurements. The one that is really going to matter here is the 9" measurement for your bolts, which will be your rough-in measurement. This definitely rules out the 320 which requires 11". Since you said "about," I would make sure to get an accurate measurement. The Dometic 310 Part-Timer # DOM57FR may be able to fit if that is actually 10" instead of 9. I suspect the measurement is more like 8-1/2" which would make the Dometic 300 Weekender # DOM64FR your...

To determine the correct replacement for your 1999 Newmar Dutch Star motorhome you'll first need to measure for the rough-in.
