Perfect for Full-Time RV Living

Living in an RV while exploring the country is a real adventure, and you'll want your facilities to live up to that lifestyle. This RV toilet easily handles everyday use, making it great for when you're living in your RV full-time. It's just as tall as a standard residential toilet, so it's easy to sit down on and get up from. The durable wooden seat holds heat for those chilly nights. And the sturdy ceramic bowl is easy to clean. If you call your RV your home, this is the toilet you'll need when nature calls.

Measure to Fit

RV toilet rough in measurement

There's one measurement you should double check to see if this toilet will easily fit into your bathroom. The rough-in measurement is the minimum distance you'll need from the wall to the center of the flange on which the toilet will sit. To measure this distance without uninstalling your current toilet, the mounting bolts on the side will typically tell you where the center of the flange is. You may want to triple check if your toilet has an offset flange or 4-bolt mounting style.

The Dometic 320 Series RV toilet has a rough-in measurement of 11". If your rough-in measurement is less than 11", select a toilet model with a lower requirement or consider alterations to make it fit. Keep in mind the overall dimensions of the toilet, and measure for yourself to pick the best model for an easy DIY upgrade.

Much nicer than cheap plastic toilet installed as original equipment that leaked between bowl & outer shell, smelled worse than an outhouse. It's a little bit longer & just touches back wall, but should be ok. Feels more sturdy & comfortable with the wooden oval seat. Just winterized, so I'll find out for sure next summer. 2018 Wolfpack 325P13 front bathroom.

5 stars to Etrailer...but 1 star to Dometic.

My
Dometic 320 toilet was reasonably priced and delivered promptly by e6railer. The toilet itself is a huge upgrade, very comfortable and looks great. I ran into a problem on my epic West Coast trip and needed to work through a bricks and mortar retailer to get immediate help. I found a local Camping World and got help there.

The problem was that water was leaking from the bowl, leaving it dry, which allows odors to get into the camper. I read on Facebook to try hot water. But, it did not work. Camping World sold me a replacement gasket. When I removed the old gasket, I could see an obvious manufacturer's defect. It was clear that the molded components had an irreparable off-center gasket seat and a shape defect that limited the gasket seating. Camping World tried to help me resolve with Dometic as a warranty issue. But, it was a weekend and Dometic was not responding. Since I was on a trip with my wife, it was an emergency. So, I bought another unit from stock and expected to resolve with Dometic afterwards. The new toilet was installed without issue and has been working great since. So, we were able to continue our trip.

Camping World tried to support me after the sale with Dometic. But, by the time I was asked for the serial number off of my old toilet, it was in a dumpster hundreds of miles away. Later, I wrote a detailed letter with receipts, pictures, and the whole story to Dometic. But, they would not help me at all without the serial number.

So, go out and buy the very nice toilet from etrailer. But, pull out the gasket to check the gasket seat and ball valve before you even install it. (It's very easy to remove and replace the gasket.) Then write down the serial number, in case you have a problem later.

I have to say that it is particularly disappointing of Dometic's Quality Assurance program, because the defect should have been picked up by the original gasket installer. Then, Dometic disappointed again with their response.

I will attach some pictures.

Its been a great upgrade from original toilet. Nice looking, easy to use, easy to clean. Not to many moving parts. Great toilet. We can highly recommend it.

Well, if I was younger it would have been a 15-minute job; well, almost. I added a bidet to the installation, which added to the time, but not much. You’ll note in the photos that there isn’t a color match, but the bidet came in only one shade of white. The model 320 replaced a model 300 in our motorhome. If you’re familiar with a model 300, you know you can lift it with one finger. Once you lift the model 320 you know right away there’s no comparison in the quality. Everything about the model 320 says quality. Truly the installation is a piece of cake, and I can’t imagine anyone being unhappy with this toilet. If they are I’ll ship them my old model 300 for free! As for dealing with etrailer, it’s been another great experience. The toilet came two days earlier than expected; not damage; perfect. etrailer’s customer service and follow-up are second to none. Mark me a happy camper for sure!

by:

I had a problem with the toilet as it would not hold water in the bowl to seal the down spout due to the bowel being offset too the pedestal. I contacted Dometic under the warranty that I had, and they replaced the toilet with a new one. No more problems now.

The replacement toilet is working fine.

by:

If you have the plastic Dometic 300 toilet, do yourself a favor and replace it now with the 320. We no longer suffer with the rancid smell of the liquid collecting inside the 300. The porcelain is easy to clean and and the flushing action far superior.

One year later and we are still Happy Campers!! One of the best decisions we have made pertaining to our Rockwood Mini Lite.

by:

After owning this toilet for a year, and actually using for 5 months on and off we find this toilet very comfortable and is almost like our house unit. Flushing power could be stronger, but with the handheld shower handle the job gets done.
The seal in the bowl leaks a small amount and has to be reseated occasionally maybe some silicon grease to lubricate the rubber ring could help

by:

toilet never really holds water, I have messed with the seal, lubricated it filled the toilet extra full but from day one after about 2 hours the toilet is bone dry

This is something that we have heard of this issue before with RV toilets. You will want to check the flush ball seal to make sure it has not been knocked out of place by the ball. Also check to make sure that the seal is not missshapen, folded in, or cut. If you push down on the flush ball it should not have any give to it. If you feel that it has give or play to it then the seal has come loose. If you should need a new seal then it is part # DOM63FR.

We Purchased a new RV and I immediately started looking for a quality toilet that was elongated and at a comfortable height. I found the D-320 on etrailer and ordered it. Shipping was fast and packaging was excellent for Fragile product. I installed the toilet in we are very pleased with it. I would have purchased a second toilet for the other restroom however the wall to floor mount bolts is to short and it will not fit. So I will be looking at moving the floor flange to accommodate the D-320 and getting rid of the plastic, short, round piece of crap toilet that came with the RV.
I know they use Plastic for the light weight of the RV but I wont skimp on a few pounds extra to toe for comfort and ease of use.

by:

Toilet arrived timely. Everything is in good condition. Easy installation despite close tolerances (went from stinky plastic 300 Dometic model to 320 with a porcelain bowl. 300 model was only 2 years old with minimal use and septic was leaking between the bowl inner & outer cases. Sorry etrailer but the Dometic 300 models should not be sold, they are a sanitary hazard even for occasional use. Anyways back to 320 model, simple and easy to install. Chasing the mounting bolts in mounting plate slots gave me some exciting competition but I prevailed. Highly recommend this model.

by:

Having a porcelain toilet that looks and feels like our home toilet is very comforting. We have had no issues or concerns since I installed the 320. It was easy to install. I never liked the plastic toilets that are standard equipment in RVs and the 320 brings home style look, feel and comfort back to the RV. I added the hand sprayer to complete this project.

Very well-built. I think it's better than the Thetford brand that it replaced. Well-designed for any replacement parts if needed.

by:

The best RV toilet we've ever used. We've been full-time for 3.5 years and we replaced both toilets with this model. Excellent height, easy to clean, and fit the bidet perfectly.

After a year, I’m still very happy with this product and highly recommend it!

by:

Regarding the Dometic 320. I have a couple of likes and unfortunately a couple of dislikes. I like that the toilet bowl is elongated and made of ceramic. I dislike that the bowl has not ever held liquid despite the gasket being replaced twice. It requires cleaning after every #2 use because water does not stand in the bowl for more than about 20 seconds. I dislike the fact that the flush valve leaked and had to be replaced twice since the toilet was installed a little over a year ago.

It looks nice and is comfortable but there is a design flaw in the flapper gasket, or perhaps that water seal system, and the flush valve.

This makes me somewhat dissatisfied with the product.
Sincerely,
Dale P

by:

Really great upgrade with one flaw... The water leaks out of the bowl. I have fixed this by removing, cleaning, and re- installing the seal, however, it starts happening again after a couple months. Still, this is a major upgrade to my all plastic tiny toilet, and it was still worth it to me. KNOW your DIMENSIONS before ordering.

by:

We had a Dometic 310. The Dometic 320 was an appreciated upgrade. The 320 design is a comfortable "homestyle" toilet. Much easier to clean.

by:

Great service from Joshua at etrailer.
Note to buyers: make sure your bathroom door swing will clear the toilet bowl…it’s longer than the std. bowl.

Infrequent use but, working nicely, and comfortable.

by:

The toilet shelf held up very well about 11 or 12 months out. The seal had to be replaced. Started to leak. Water would not stay in the bowl every six months all the parts got cleaned and lubricated. I love the toilet it’s easy to clean and doesn’t stain.

by:

Replaced a round Thetford Aqua Magic toilet that was a PITA to keep functioning properly and to service. Also, we hated the plastic kid on the Thetford, with all the nooks and corners, that was difficult to clean; this one has flat surfaces that are easy to clean. This one is WAY more comfortable, sturdy, easier to maintain, and functions better. Had no problem installing it; 15 minutes, start to finish. Glad we made the change; we are full-timers, and this serves our needs better.

The elongated toilet is MUCH better than the round one we previously had. My wife really likes this one.

by:

The toilet is first class. I paid msrp and there was a $60 reduction in price on your website.

by:

Perfect replacement fit, and better size than what was OEM. Great place to sit and think.

by:

Functions as expected EXCEPT: SEAL LEAKS and doesn’t hold water. I have replaced the seal and abundantly greased the new seal with better results but still doesn’t hold water. NOT GOOD!

I saw your review and wanted to reach out to manufacturer about it. They said to to push on the white ball in the bowl of the toilet. If it has any flex to it, then its not in the pocket correctly and would be causing these issues. Sometimes it can get knocked out of the groove it sits in during cleaning or what have you. Puttimg it back in place would stop the leaking.

  • Recommended Replacement Standard Height RV Toilet
For a toilet that won't hold water you definitely want a new one, as there aren't repair parts for it, and that includes the foot pedal. But since you have a four-bolt mount, you can easily replace it, you just need to measure for the fit. What you'll want to do is measure the distance from the wall to the center of the flange the toilet sits, as you can see in the accompanying cut out I added. If that measurement is 11 inches, for a standard height toilet I recommend the Dometic 320 Full-Timer...

The Dometic 510 Elongated Seat Toilet part # DOM29FR basically just has a larger bowl and seat than the 320 version part # DOM87FR. The 510 is more or less just a slightly larger and heavier (by 10 lbs) standard height toilet. The 510 will seem more like a toilet you'd find in a house whereas the 320 will seem like an RV toilet that's just a little smaller and more compact.
