Furrion's transfer switch is wired to automatically change the primary source of AC current from shore power or an inverter to a generator when available. So, in the case that you unexpectedly lose shore power, the switch will automatically begin to run power to your RV's appliances from your generator.

The switch between power sources is seamless to the point that you won't even notice the difference in power being sent to your appliances and electronics. The 50-amp single pole switch provides 120V or 250V AC. To prevent electrical interruptions or damage to the system, the time delay function utilizes a 20-30 second window to switch between power sources. This protects against dangerous backfeed, and keeps the voltage from each power source from being active at the same time.

The time delay function features a bypass switch for inverter power. Since an inverter doesn't need time to warm up like a generator does, you can bypass the time delay for instant transfer from shore power to inverter power.

The plastic case has 15 punch-out holes which allow you to arrange the cables and wiring in whatever way is best for your setup. The included user manual lays out 3 typical setups for you.

The switch wires to your shore power input and generator or inverter input. Both inputs are wired to the AC panel.

by: is the best rv parts company I've ever dealt with. If there's ever any problem they'll make it right. There products are always top quality, and they deliver on time.

Works great

I did not have high hopes for the Furrion brand. All other Furrion brand products i have used the past are of low quality.
The switch has a humm to it that can be heard in the trailer. The unit is mounted in storage compartment. It does work as described. The wiring instructions are lacking good information. I really don't have any viable complaints yet.

The only thing I wish I had of known that they do not count holidays when you ask for express shipping

I installed your product last year. The unit was under the bed which made it difficult to get too. The biggest problem was there was no grommets for the wires. Since I was at a RV park I cut out the olds and installed them into the new unit. This was a very lengthy difficult process. If I had known I would ordered new ones too. On there that the unit is working great.

Very easy install working fine

Exactly same as unit as originally installed one that got “fried” by power surge. Hopefully I will be smart enough to keep surge protector on in future so won’t have same thing again.

Perfect fit for replacing unit that had gotten “fried” during electrical storm. Function perfectly. No complaints at all.

I bought two of these when my brother and cousin upgraded my RV electrical system from 30 to 50 amp. One for the generator and one for the inverter. They “dummy proofed “ it by using two. It’s been over a year and no problems. ETrailer delivered quickly and sent everything I needed to get the job done right (except for the brother and cousin who were willing to do the installations!

Very fast service, information on every step of movement package made. So thankful for helping me get my motorhome going again so fast.

This product was delivered quickly. I was able to do a direct replacement with my original transfer switch.

Exact replacement for my Class A RV. Straight forward install. TIP: you need to turn off 50 amp breaker for unit too function properly. This is not clearly stated in instructions

shipping was a bit slow in receiving but got all wired up in my RV this morning, everything fit perfectly, hopefully this Furrion replacement lasts longer than the original one!

Arrived on time and in good shape

Easy to wire and works perfectly

Great service. Delivered to Canada in less than a week. Part was exactly as stated.

As advertised, easy install and expedient delivery. What more can you ask?

Orginal one the shore power side got fused open. Unable to charge or plug in. Weekend order. Payed for fast shipping and got just that.

I haven't installed the relay yet, but it was a breeze ordering and it showed up a few days later. They have their sh*t together

Great experience

Working well

The part worked great for my application. Thanks

Worked perfect.

  • Is the Furrion Transfer Switch 50 Amp Compatible with Home Use?
The Furrion Automatic Transfer Switch - 50 Amp - 125/250V # F50ATS utilizes the same power as your house, however you would want to check with a licensed electrician to make sure it meets the housing code criteria for your area. It is UL 94 and UL 1008 certified.

  • Hooking Up the Furrion Automatic Transfer Switch # F50ATS to Home Electrical System
I reached out to Furrion directly they mentioned that the Furrion Automatic Transfer Switch # F50ATS will automatically switch to the lead it is connected to when shore power is dropped, but you will need to manually turn the generator off or secondary power off and switch it. This will not start your generator and turn it off when you lose power or power is restored.

After speaking with Furrion they believe that since the outlet is working but not powering the fridge that the transfer switch has to be the cause of your issues. We have a replacement for you which I've listed below: Furrion Automatic Transfer Switch - 50 Amp - 125/250V Item # F50ATS.

  • Can Furrion Transfer Switch # F50ATS Use 6 Gauge Wire

  • Troubleshooting A Transfer Switch Making A Buzzing Sound
The terminal screws of your Furrion Automatic Transfer Switch - 50 Amp - 125/250V # F50ATS could just be loose causing the buzzing sound. The sound you hear is an audible signal that the electrical current is jumping a gap across metal connections that aren't in firm contact so I recommend disconnecting the shore power to your RV and tightening each screw. If this does not solve the issue then this is a signal that your transfer switch may need to be replaced.

  • Recommended Replacement For An Intellitec 50 Amp Transfer Switch
Yes, the Furrion Automatic Transfer Switch - 50 Amp - 125/250V # F50ATS is a compatible replacement for your Intellitec 50 amp transfer switch. This transfer switch automatically reroutes your RV's AC input from shore power to generator power when activated. Any time you have more than one AC power source you need to use a transfer switch like the # 34264403. This kit will automatically switch from the inverter power to shore power when available. But since you have a 45 amp power center and the transfer switch you referenced is only designed for 30 amps you'd want the 50 amp Furrion Transfer Switch part # F50ATS. • Can I Use 50 Amp Transfer Switch With 30 Amp RV Setup
It is possible to use a 50 Amp transfer switch with a 30 amp setup since you plan on upgrading in the future however, the Furrion Transfer 50 Amp Switch is made for 50 Amp setups. I recommend to use Progressive Dynamics 50 Amp Transfer Switch part # PD52. This 50 Amp transfer switch will allow you to hook up the 30 Amp shore power to the HOT 1 connection in the box. When you decide to upgrade to a 50 amp setup, you will use HOT 1 and HOT 2.

  • Can I Use the Progressive Dynamics PD52 to Replace a Furrion F50ATS
Yes. You could use the Progressive Dynamics # PD52 to replace your Furrion # F50ATS; they're both rated for 50amps so they are compatible. The Furrion does provide a bit of extra protection against power surges though with it's 125/250v supply, so I do prefer that choice when possible.

  • What Does Amp Rating Mean For Transfer Switch & Can 30 Amp Work w/ 50 Amp Shore Power
The 30 amp or 50 amp is just the power the transfer switches are rated for in order to match the 30 amp or 50 amp power that RV's are rated for. So in general, if your RV is rated for 50 amps, you use the Furrion Automatic Transfer Switch - 50 Amp - 125/250V # F50ATS, and if it is rated for 30 amps, you use the Furrion Automatic Transfer Switch - 30 Amp - 120V # F30ATS.
