Rain Shield with Angled Louvers

Rain Shield w/Angled Louvers

Open your RV roof vent any time and in any weather. This one-of-a-kind rain shield fully surrounds and encloses the vent opening, so you never have to worry about pesky rainwater seeping in and damaging the interior of your RV. Its integrated angled louvers let odors, stale air, and moisture escape while allowing rainwater to run off. This solid design saves you time and money since there's no need to purchase and install a separate vent cover.

Not only does this roof vent defeat rainwater, but it protects against bugs and debris too. The vent has 2 different screens to ensure the inside of your RV is free of mosquitos and flies or remnants of leaves and loose bark from fallen tree branches. One screen is located behind the angled louvers and the other on the exterior vent opening - both remove easily for cleaning.

Expected the vent to seal when closed. Nope, gaps allow air through. I'm going to sell it on craigslist.

Super fast delivery by etrailer! Easy install! A+++

by:

Replacement installation was easy. Removing the old one without damaging the roof covering and roof clean up, was a careful challenge. Steve R. Was very helpful on the phone with finding the correct replacement within my dimensions and unit function. He knows his stuff! As always etrailer is the only place I shop for my travel trailer parts and accessories. Thanks!

by:

This went in really well. It fit perfectly on my older vandura roof and I am pleased

by:

Final result is nice. I'm really pleased with the low profile on the roof. It's kind of a hassle to install. They should rethink the piece that connects the roof section to the ceiling section. Make it telescope so you don't have to cut it.

by:

Perfect product. Now I can leave the vent on my trailer open year round.

by:

Air exit was partially blocked by a plastic shroud, greatly reducing the airflow. I planned to use it for the exhaust of my portable A/C, but just wouldn't work. So I returned it.

by:

etrailer has not let me down yet!!

by:

Perfect for what I needed! Couldn't beat the price, shipping was free (I spent over $100 total) and it arrived in two days! Great quality and easy instale!

Love the fan light combo plus it's just simple to use. We did not like the Maxxfan Deluxe that fell off on vaction someplace in Wyoming it had two many oppositions and would turn on and off for no reason.
Installation was ok but had to make some modifications fiberglass in only 1/2 inch thick and had to buy different fasteners.
Over all love it big inprovement.

by:

Delivery was great as always. Install very easy to my ambulance/camper conversion. It was my first ceiling vent and later found I underestimated the air flow I would want in the box. Since then I have removed this to move it to the shower/bathroom where it will work best for this application. Purchased the MaxxFan Plus w/ 12V Fan, Thermostat, and Remote - Powered Lift - 10 Speed(MA00-04500K) and FanMate.

by:

I bought this vent to fill the hole left after the AC delete on my old RPOD. I'm not noticing a lot of air movement, as this is a non-powered / no fan vent. But most importantly.. I'm not getting any water coming in and I no longer have about 100 pounds of useless AC creating drag when I tow.

by:

I used this fan to replace vent fan in the bathroom, rapidly vents odors and steam from the shower. Good fan highly recommended.

by:

So far so good. It lets very little light through from outside, in the main living space I would like this, as I have kids who are still at the napping age. in the bathroom I don’t like it so much. Other than that it appears to be well made.
Installation was a pain, but no fault of this unit. The old butyl tape was a lot of work to get off the roof.

by:

Installation was straight forward, no problems! I’ve had it for a full year and it works great. It moves more air than the original fan and the LED light provides plenty of light. It is great being able to run the fan to vent the RV even when it’s raining. The only thing prevent 5 star rating is that closing the vent in cold weather doesn’t create an air tight seal and leaks cold air.

  • Replacement Manual Vent for 1997 Sunnybrook With Roof That Is Greater Than 4" Thick
Most available roof vents will not fit a roof that thick, but the MaxxAir Mini Manual RV Roof Vent, # MA00-03700 will. This fits roofs 1" to 4-1/2" thick with an opening size of 14" wide x 14" long. The rain shield allows you to open the vent in any weather with no additional vent cover needed. It has a manual lever to easily slide to open and close the vent. Select # MA00-03750 for black option.

  • Is Installing 2 Vents on a 12' Enclosed Trailer Overkill in Florida
Hey CJ, thanks for reaching out! For standard manual vents you will be perfectly fine adding 2 of them on your enclosed trailer, and it will definitely be worth it down in Florida. If you were looking at a powered option with a fan I would say more than one is overkill, but that's not the case when these aren't powered. Cutting two 14" x 14" holes won't be detrimental to the integrity of the roof, but you'll likely need to install some bracing inside for everything to fit and be secured...

  • Why Aren't Powered Roof Vent Fans Recommended Above Showers and Cooktops in RVs
Because of the high humidity environment around showers and range cooking surfaces, it isn't recommended that a powered vent like the # MA00-04002K fan be used in those areas. The high humidity will dramatically shorten the lifespan of the circuit boards and motors of a powered fan. You can certainly install the fan, but you'll likely not be pleased by how long it would last. In that kind of environment, a manual vent like # MA00-03700 is what's recommended. I've linked you to a product...

  • Roof Vent Recommendation for a 2014 Forest River Lightening Enclosed Car Hauler
For your application I have a few options depending on what exactly you're looking to get out of a roof vent. For a basic roof vent that will just help keep heat from really building up in your car hauler trailer I recommend the MaxxAir Mini Manual RV Roof Vent # MA00-03700 because it has a manual lift and is covered so it requires no electricity and you can keep it open all the time - even when you're driving or it's raining outside. For a mid-tier option I recommend the MaxxFan Mini...

  • Roof Vent Recommendation for 20 foot Car Hauler Trailer
Normally I would say you would probably get by with 1 but since you'll be in a hotter climate in Florida I'd say go ahead and install 2 if you're planning on keeping them open during storage. If you're hesitant, you can always start off with 1 vent and then add another if you feel that it's needed. I'm assuming that you aren't looking for a powered vent. If that's the case then I highly recommend going with the MaxxAir Mini which comes in Black # MA00-03750 or White # MA00-03700. The reason...

  • Why Cant MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan be Installed Above Tub/Shower
While we have heard of people using electrical vents like the MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan # MA00-06401K above a tub/shower, it is not meant to be installed in that location because water from the shower (whether it is from steam or from someone dancing around while singing in the shower) can harm the electrical components and cause the vent to fail. This is the same reason why you shouldn't use this above a range cooking surface either. If you like the idea of having a rain cover...

  • Why Are Some Roof Vents Listed As Not For Use Above Showers
The MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan and Thermostat # MA00-06200K has a 12v fan in it so it's not recommended for use above a shower because there's a risk of water damaging the vent. If the vent hole is in the bathroom but not over the shower you'll be able to use this vent. If the vent hole is above the shower you just need a non-powered vent like the MaxxAir Mini Manual RV Roof Vent - White # MA00-03700 or # MA00-03750 for Black. These vents have a rain shield cover which allows...

  • Can Maxxair RV Roof Vent/ Fans MA00-03700 Be Mounted on a Wall
The MaxxAir # MA00-03700 roof vent/fan you mentioned can indeed be mounted to a wall instead of the ceiling/roof. This being said, the wall will either need to be at least 1 inch thick, or you'll need to add some furring around the rough opening to make the wall thickness at least 1 inch. Being mounted on the vertical could make the vent assembly more prone to water intrusion, so you'll want to do a good job sealing the flange of the vent to the side or the trailer. The MaxxAir Mini Trailer Roof Vent # MA00-03700 that you referenced is made out of a durable plastic that actually does a really good job against the sun. If you wanted a total metal vent then you could use the Ventline Ventadome Trailer Roof Vent # V2110SP-24 which is also a manually operated vent. The thing about this kit though is that it will keep out bugs and debris when left open but not rain. To keep it open while it is raining you would need to use a cover like the MaxxAir Standard...

It sounds like the original vent lid on your 2004 Jayco Eagle could have been a custom part since all of the continuous hinge lids we sell, shown on the linked page, have their lid actuator channel centered on the lid. Replacement screens are designed to fit specific models of trailer vents, and there isn't an option for one with similar dimensions to yours. Since the company went out of business and there aren't going to be replacements, the only recommendation I can offer is a new vent. It sounds like you have the standard 14" x 14" roof vent (technically it is 14-1/4" x 14-1/4" though), and a thin roof based on the garnish dimensions. So for that the best option is the MaxxAir Mini Trailer Roof Vent,...

If you don't already have frame work giving you a 14-1/4" x 14-1/4" space for the vent then you'll need to mark one out on the ceiling and cut into it and will most likely need build some frame work to support...

The vent opening would need to be re-sized a bit to make it larger, but this will give you the standard sized, 14-1/4" x 14-1/4" roof vent. You can do this with the MaxxAir Mini Manual RV Roof Vent - Non-Powered - Black # MA00-03750 or White # MA00-03700. This would be an indication that you have a leak originating somewhere up on the roof. This is typically caused by a damaged lid or poor sealing job when installing the vent.
